Streets of Rage meets Final Fantasy! (Or Final Fight meets Dragon Quest if you're more of a Pepsi over Coca Cola type.)

After the death of teenager Jamal Miller, North City saw violent protests and riots. A month in, most citizens have evacuated and only criminals are left on the streets.

Disgraced detective Craig Barnes is fighting to take back the city, find the truth, and restore his credibility. Along the way he'll find some unexpected help in the form of a crime boss and Jamal's older brother.

This project had been on the back burner for a while as I slowly picked at it but Release the Dead has seen me dust it off and revisit what's turning out to be an incredibly fun project to work on!

For a 5 minutes teaser this looks very promising. The battle sprites look great and it looks like the full game will have tons of fun action scenes that will remind you of classic arcade games and action movies. The only problem is that that's all I can say about it. The teaser is too short, ending just at a part where it gets more interesting! There are also some funny little quirks, like the main character having a "Sword" and fantasy armor equipped, or that he only attacks with kicks, never throwing a single punch. Of course, I'm sure all of this is due to the game being rushed to meet the deadline.

Overall, there's not much to say about the demo due to how short it is. But there's potential hiding in that little teaser.
