First of all, thank you for your enthusiasm, and what we can hope for is to be able to meet your expectations when the game comes out. :)
Here is some information about the matter of demos.
Unfortunately, we didn't have, from the beginning of the development, intentions to release demos. This to allow us to work calmly, be able to make improvements and try to offer a quality product from the beginning (for example, we still don't customize the UI: it takes a lot of time to do it, and we have for now other priorities, like finishing all the cutscenes etc).
There are currently two narrative arcs, and we almost finished the second one. After that we will have to revise the first arc and parallel this fix to the missing graphics creation phase, for all these reasons can't release a demo.
For the playing time: only the second arc lasts about 4 hours.
Considering that the first one, even if it is to be corrected, lasts between 2 and 3 hours we think that the overall game can last between 6 or 7 playing hours, but we can't give precise information about it yet.

We'll tell you, we still have to do a lot of ulterior graphical improvement on a lot of potraits and maps but... We're happy that even this "provisory" result is still eye-catching! :)
Regarding the "pushing the engine" matter... Wow, we'd never expect such a compliment!

So, here on Rpgmaker.net at the beginning we wrote November 2 as the release date, but we believe that the date has to be postponed a little.
Maybe it could come out in February next year.
