These two strangers are no strangers to me!

Welcome to the review of Two Strangers Got Married On The Beach (or TSGMOTB), sequel of Two Strangers Sat In A Garden(TSSIAG).
What? You have NOT played the first game? Go away, no, go to play that game, it's rather short and nice, and you need to play it before playing this game.

Ok, done? Very well let's begin this review!

The Good
Ok, I will ask a question, since you played TSSIAG, did you like it? ("No" is not a correct answer!) Well TSGMOTB is nearly identical in style and gameplay, but we have a brand new adventure of course. During the first game we played as He, in this instead we will control She. Old friends and new characters are both present, I liked this a lot. Maps are, in my opinion, more bizzarre than those of the first game. I liked that too!
Other good things? Well the game is short but has many interesting parts and enigmas. This is a surreal adventure game, and I'm liking how the story is progressing, the weird situations and the many crazy characters, old and new (I liked especially the black goat boss, I hope he'll be back)!

Ok ok, but besides this graphics and music are the strong points of the game, like in the precious adventure. They are original and pleasant and create a relaxing atmosphere that enrich the game and the dialogues (that are a consistent part of the gameplay).
I won't tell you the story, let's just say that this is a sequel that involves interstellar travel, spacecraft shipwrecks, lobsters and messing with criminals. Oh yes, and SUMMER! Let's not forget that part!

Oh and that ending: I wrote that the ending of the first game was disturbing. The ending of the second game is even worse! I wonder what will happen next. See? I am curious, so the game made me interested in a story that I assumed was concluded in the first chapter.

NO! What's happening? Now the facesets match the charsets???? This is shocking!

The Bad
What I did not like, then? Well there are a couple of things that I felt... missing!
Ok, first I felt that while the ending is great I'd have liked some sort of conclusion to Aunt Linda's fate, but ok, nevermind! Then I'd have wished for some more weirdness and a longer story, I was also confused because some charsets and facesets match! How? This never happened during the first game! What else? Oh yes, while I found some "tasks" really clever, I had some problems in a cpuple of locations in which it's not clear how to interact with the "points of interests" that are out of reach.
But ok, there's not much content, anyway at the same time I found no problems/errors or any kind of nuisance. Despite the little improvements over the previous episode, the game is small & sweet!

Culture Corner! If you do not know these facts we can't be friends!

Verdict
A nice adventure game, maybe not for everyone! If you liked the first one, you will surely like this one too, since it's another little game in which you reade strange dialogues and witness the bizarre adventures of the two Strangers! It's short, funny and has no issues, bugs or typos. I also wonder what will be the future of He and She. I had fun! 3.5 is it! Again!

Thanks so much for the review addict! I'm glad it delivered as a sequel!

I absolutely agree with you on how the story could've been more surreal. I definitely toned it down from the first game, which is the opposite of what I wanted to do, but by the time it was finished I was like "welp I'll just make the third one weirder." I'm pleasantly surprised you thought the maps were more bizarre, though! I thought those were a step down from the weirdness of the first game too, since this time around I focused more on making them aesthetically pleasing than plain weird (something I want to try balancing in the third game with a mix of weirder maps but also some more visually pleasing ones). As for the length, unfortunately I plan to keep it at 10-20 minutes for every entry in the series, so it's unlikely the third one will be longer. Maybe the first one felt longer since there was a lot of time skipping involved and this one kinda took place over one day? Might be worth bringing the time skips back in the third game.

Thanks again for the feedback, it really helps!

Absolutely. And making an interesting sequel isn't easy, especially because the first had an ending that seemed "final"!

Well I mainly compared the game to the first incarnation of the first episode (that's the one I reviewed), so maps were clearly richer and more interesting (on par with those of the "improved" first episode). I spent also some time checking useless details so... well done!

Maybe.. well, not a big issue, but I've to find some flaws here! ;)
Anyway I'm more curious about the next one... it's hard to imagine... maybe "Two Strangers Divorced In Philadephia"? We will see!

Oh, yeah, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying.

It may or may not be called Two Strangers Win Miss Teen USA

Yay, yes it was clearly an improvement over the first "basic edition".
Hope that next episode(s?) will still use the same style and Rm2k3 too!

Every game in the series will absolutely use the same art style. I don’t plan to use it for every game I make but I will definitely use it for every Two Strangers game I make.

Glad to hear you’re excited about the next one!
