-minor typo fixes and map changes, reduced HP of Dragons, and other minor adjustments

+++++ Prequel +++++

+++++ Summary +++++

Legends Of Illarion is an RM2K3 game based on Illarion, an old fantasy roleplaying MMO game that focuses on true roleplaying rather than hack & slash.

This game was originally made for Illarion players as a primary audience. However, I've been working on and off on this game for about 5 years, tweaking many elements for a much wider audience and creating a main storyline that is easily enjoyable for anyone.

This game is competent and balanced, and although it doesn't stand out in any one particular area, I think it's pretty well rounded in all areas. The mapping is fairly good, it's mostly error free in game and text, and every dungeon has enough puzzles and treasures to keep exploration from being too dull.

It features approximately 25+ hours of gameplay time, an epic scale story, a touch encounter system, tons of puzzles/skip puzzle functions, and a simple crafting system that allows you to create weapons/armour/items based on resources obtained after battle. It's an old school type of game, and I think you'll enjoy this game if you want to play a competent and balanced full game with some original and creative puzzles.

Thanks for 10,000 downloads!

Wow! 10,000 downloads! Is this game really that old now? Where has all the time gone..... Also, the last time I checked, this game is now the 75th most downloaded complete game on RMN, which is pretty amazing all things considered! Anyways a big thank you to everyone who downloaded this game during all these years, and thank you to everyone whose support made it possible for me to make this game and the prequel as well!

Sometimes people ask me if I will ever make a sequel to this game, but honestly I never had much ideas for how that would go. It's more likely that I might make some short stories about certain characters that take place in the past, just like the prequel.

Speaking of which, here is a short game I made for Seasons of RMN event! It's called Frozen Slumber, which takes place after LOI2 but before LOI1, so it's kind of a... mid-quel? It's not much, but it'll have to do for now! Enjoy!

And once again, thank you everyone!!!

Hi have a problem - I have Astral with all her skills but they do not show up when I am fighting- have tried equipping her with staffs/whips etc but to no avail- she is at level 80- can you help please or suggest what I need to get her to use all skills

Astral (he is a guy) has "Magic" skills which are always usable, and "Geomancy" skills which can only be used depending on the LOCATION you are fighting in. For example, when you are in an environment with ice, he will only be able to use the ice theme skills and not the other skills.
The exact breakdown of the skills is as follows:

Scatter Debris
Academic Lecture
Flying Furniture
Medical Attention
Shaky Foundation
Thunder Barrier
Thunder Terror

Tunnel Maze
Cave In
Pitch Black
Ghastly Echoes
Volcanic Gas
Earth Barrier
Earth Exploit

Flying Sand
Crazy Cactus
Shimmering Heat
Fire Barrier
Fire Fear

Coiling Vines
Poison Ivy
Charming Pollen
Poison Pollen
Holy Barrier
Holy Horror

Gusty Winds
Lost Footing
Healing Breeze
Vertical Fear
Sonic Gale
Wind Barrier
Wind Weakness

Water Spout
Cleansing Water
Submarine Silence
Electric Eel
Water Barrier
Water Weary

Snow Frost
Freezing Cold
Solid Resolve
Icicle Shatter
Black Ice
Ice Barrier
Ice Intolerance

Lost Mind
Total Blackout
Dark Aura
Spirit Stealer
Dark Barrier
Dark Dreadfulness
thanks I was trying to use him to help kill the love dragon- any hints on who to use for this dragon and hints for the wisdom, loyalty ones as these are they only ones I have not killed yet in the young gods- great game
It's been a long time, so I don't remember exactly but:

In general, you should have Galadria for healing and Sabrina for the mana regeneration.

Love Dragon uses Holy and healing, and should be weak against Dark and Poison.

Loyalty Dragon uses Lightning and has no weakness, but his 2 drakes can be confused.

Wisdom Dragon uses all elements and resists all elements, so use elemental barriers on yourself and attack with physical attacks and non-elemental magic.
i just started and i gota say, man, the font needs to go... its damn near impossible to read. other then that so far it looks and plays pretty nice.

You may need to install the RPG Maker font.
If I remember correctly, smargad is probably only dropped by bosses which means there is a limited quantity. If you blacksmithed duplicate items with smargad, then you probably won't have enough. Sorry about that. I will try to fix the issue by eliminating the possibility of creating duplicate items in a future update.
Does anyone remember where Olbra's altar is located?
Oldra's altar is in the Halflings village where Roke and Korwin started from.
I look as this, it looks real good. I begin playing sounds real good. I begin to read... is there a font I need to download?

I cannot find anything in your downloads or in your game directory that fix the font. I can read like a couple words but not everything. A little help please.
You need MS Mincho Font. Windows XP and higher should contain this font already. Otherwise google and download this font. (Put it in the /Fonts/ subdirectory of your Windows dir) You may have to reboot afterwards.

Edit: Or trying getting it here:
Wait a sec, isn't Prequel what comes before? So why is number 2 the prequel? :D
Do you want me to go Star Wars and rename this Legends of Illarion Episode 4? Then I can call the prequel Episode 1 =)

I'm still working on a minor update for this game by the way... coming soon in a few days...
Hello ! Maximax's back for more testing !

The beggining of the game is indeed much easier : good point !

Typos :
  • in the credits (image) "everyone else who's assistance" >
  • intro, 2nd part "under Monshran's control"
  • In Mummy ruins (start), Erdrick says "to dungoen explorers"
  • When you gain xp in battle, the message says "acccumulated"

Graphics :
The "kobold" sprite hasn't been well cut, and 4 blue pixels shouldn't be there !
Wow I'm surprised that after all these years, nobody's ever mentioned all these mistakes near the beginning! Even I never noticed the kobold, and it's so obvious!
nobody's ever mentioned all these mistakes

Well... I'd seen this a long time ago, but I hadn't bothered to mention it... Shame on me...
Well, I'm making amends !

In Elisa's shop, a dwarf lists all the tools you can get in town. He mentions a needle, whereas the woman in the shop gives us scissors.

Typos in TB :
  • Zeratul Aiur (to the right of the tavern) says "realtively"

  • Charminia (near Gods' statues) says "pretty good theives"

As pleasant as ever ! Aren't the musics improved ?
I don't think I've changed the music in years, except for better quality versions of the Rhapsody songs (I considered replacing them completely, but meh, it felt nice for nostalgia). It could be the midis sound better on newer computers too.
