Synopsis

In the world of Zutara, there was once a great city known as Arcadia, where dragons and humans lived in peace. However, this all changed when a great blood-red meteor fell from the sky, the Crimson Meteor. The meteor wiped out Arcadia along with most of life on the planet, not only leaving few survivors, but also spreading feral beasts known as terrors across the land. This cataclysmic event was known as the Crimson Calamity, and would be remembered for all of time.

Nearly 1000 years later, the world had mostly recovered from the Meteor's impact, though terrors still walk the earth, destroying anything in their path. To handle the threat of the terrors, many groups of brave adventurers have banded together to fight the growing Terror menace and protect the many towns and cities that dot the landscape. The most prestigious of these groups are the Ferngulf Holy Knights, a group that a young man named Koros is working to join.

Koros lives in Ari Village, a small town located on the outer edge of Ferngulf, and lives a peaceful life working at his father's blacksmith shop and doing missions for the Knights in order to join their group. However, during Koros' final exam before he could join the knight's order, Koros stumbles across a mysterious spirit being who calls himself "Kairos," the "seraphim of time."

Kairos forcibly fuses with Koros, causing him to become a Dragonkin, beings who were once dragons but decided to take a human-like form in order to avoid a deadly plague, but can transform into their original dragon state for a limited time. Losing control of his newfound powers, Koros accidentally kills his spiteful uncle in self-defense, and for doing so is banished from his village.

With nowhere else to go, Koros follows Kairos' advice to seek out Archsage Amadeus, leader of the Church of Nargi, in order to learn of his grand destiny. Upon meeting with the Archsage, Koros learns that a noble from east Ferngulf named Baron Ozma seeks to re-create the legendary blade Ars Solaris in order to summon the Crimson Meteor once again. For what reason, that is unknown. To do this, he sent out his 4 female warriors, his "oracles," to collect the 4 shards of the Ars Solaris. Once gathered, the four shards will combine, re-creating the Ars Solaris, the legendary blade that was sealed long ago.

On his journey, Koros meets many new allies, like Tayo the enigmatic bandit-turned-priest, Zenith, the duchess of a town of monsters, and Stacy, a ditzy summoner's apprentice who is a Wingli, a race of winged humanoids who live high above the clouds. With these 3 new allies and the various powers they find along the way, will Koros able to stop Baron Ozma's diabolical plot and save the world? Or is there another foe working in the shadows? Find out in Meteo Chronicles, the first game in the Chronicles of Chronicles series and the first game in the Meteo Trilogy!

Ozma discovered their Animus (condensed magickal energy that gifts specific spells to it's user) during his teenage years, and the oracles have served him faithfully throughout the years as his personal servants, advisers, and even girlfriends. Garnet is the brash, energetic one. Nadia is the vain, pouty one. Aria is the calm, smart one. and Azari is the angry, tsudere-like one. New Update!

Hello everyone. A new update has been added for Meteo Chronicles, hopefully fixing the last few game-breaking bugs this game possesses in order to make it fully playable from start to finish. Here are all the new features, changes, and bugfixes added in the new version.

New Features
-Added in an optional dream world where you can refight all bosses including missable ones to grind for rare drops and complete the bestiary if you missed anything. (like the encounters in Zerithia pre-Zenith and the hidden fight with Arte.)
-Added an updated soundtrack so all songs are now all HD quality. (previously the game used some 16-bit/32-bit songs, which have been replaced with high quality remixes for the most part in order to create auditory consistency with the RTP songs.)

Changes
-Removed internal quest initiations for faster loading.
-Added in notifications whenever something changes in the world or a new quest opens up.

Bugfixes
-Fixed spelling and grammar errors.
-Fixed bug where the screen would fade to black after the ending cutscene of Chapter 6 and would not ever fade back in.
-Fixed a game-bug involving self switches that cause you to become unable to interact with the blacksmith so you could activate the Ars Solaris cutscene.
-Fixed a bug in the final scion fight so that the countdown to their ultimate attack would actually appear.
-All songs now loop properly in engine, not just the RTP ones.
-Fixed bug where the battle music would not go back to normal after the fight with (spoilers) in Stacy's dream sequence.
-Fixed bug where the battle music would not go back to normal after fighting ThiefMaster27 in the final dungeon.
-Fixed bug where the NPC near Ari could still be interacted with after he disappears.

Sorry about that. I'll try fixing that in the next update. If you want to, you can try an earlier version. I would recommend 0.4.1.
Where is all pictures from "www" folder?
Faild loading and all on it(((

Ah. sorry. I don't read blog post from you. ^_^
Hello. Garnett's battler image is missing from the sv_actors folder, so the battle with her does not ensue (the game crashes dues to missing file).

Anyway, I fixed it by placing images from one of the beta versions into the sv_actors folder. Right now, I cannot enter the castle at Aerithia because the character gets transported on the wrong coordinates and remains stuck there.

Ok, I'll fix that right now. Thanks for telling me.

Edit: The new update is now out. All the issues you mentioned should now be fixed.
I came across another bug. This time in Mt. Gaea. I cannot pass the lava to enter the dungeon even though I have the obsidian boots in my inventory.

I fixed it.
Thanks but another came up. After giving all 4 parts to the blacksmith in West Grapa, the event does not end and remains at black screen.
Another glitch has occurred in Aetheria Castle when you go and find the King in the back room. When you approach the machine to speak there is an error - audio/bgn/enemy%20territory.ogg RETRY. When you Retry it goes on but every time you imput anything the Retry button comes up again, even when you get on the world map.
I have looked in the other versions but cannot find anything missing in the bgn file.

Just copy the bgm files from a beta version into the audio/bgm folder. That fixed the problem for me.

I fixed the glitches you told me of. This is just part of the playtesting process. Thanks for playing through the game for me and finding all the bugs. Really appreciate it.
Come across another couple of bugs.
When you cross the sparkles in Mt Gaea with obsidian boots you end up on the wall to the right not the pathway.
The 3 animus you can buy do not show up in the learn skills. I have learnt 5,6 & 7.
The game got soft-locked again on the middle of the event. Right after Amon says "I'm done", the game freezes.

@BlackAssassin7 Okay. I'm currently working on a fix. However, when I go into my game's files onto that scene, I can't seem to find anything wrong with it? Can you please give more detail on what the crash looked like and exactly what happened immediately before the crash? Did any characters move? Did the game crash because a music track couldn't be loaded? Please give more information, as I could not find any problems directly following the dialogue. (move routes are correct, player character is made invisible and can be moved through, map collision is not an issue, ect) Thank you.

@Mimella Thanks for the info. I'll get working on fixing those issues right away.

Well, first of all, the characters are standing outside the weapons shop instead of the blacksmiths. After giving Amon the pieces, the event plays out normally until Amon says "I'm done" and all characters except Koros face upwards then the game softlocks. Also, there's a cyan-haired character in place of Stacy, who's blonde. Below is a screenshot.

@BlackAssassin7 I have a couple explanations on why things may have gone wrong on your end.

1: You're playing an older version (such as 0.7) that is a lot more buggy than the current version. (1.0.5)

2: In West Graape, I actually have two alternate maps for the same area due to the area changing slightly if you completed a sidequest in Aetheria or not. If you completed it, you would be brought to the normal West Graape, but if you didn't complete the sidequest, you would be brought to an alternate version of West Graape that lacks one of the shops located there in the normal version. Since I have to create every scene on that map twice, some issues may arise with me accidently neglecting the alternate west grappe, leading to issues. If any issues did exist however, they are fixed now.

3: An for the reason why the game crashed once Amon started walking, it could be that an NPC blocked his path, causing the game to softlock. Also in the newest update, I have changed it so NPCs in that town do not wander, which will allow Amon to walk his regular path.

Thanks for the info. The new update with bugfixes will release later today.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I'm playing the latest version but I have to import the save file each time a newer version is released and the first version I have played was 1.0.2. Btw, I haven't paid much attention back then since I already had found the secret evidence but how would I normally have to reach the 2 evidences that are located behind laser barriers in Aetheria factory? And there are still issues with the moveable slab in Ari Caverns and the golden chest in the Aetheria factory. When I accidentally interact with them, it replayes the event that played before and the game softlocks. Normally they should be uninteractable.

The move-block in Ari Cavern is likely triggering a move-route on pressing the action button. So, ensuring that move-route includes the "skip if cannot move" option enabled should be enough to fix that. Maybe the softlock in West Grappe could utilize that option as well? Sorry, I didn't get that far when I played this, and would not understand the precise context of the event there.

I'm curious if it's still possible to go to Banna right after getting the Raft? As in, you can have the talk with the Archsage and basically story-skip the boss fight of Chapter 1, and skip Chapter 2 (almost) entirely?
The game froze again. This time in the Baron's castle after the thief character steals the Ars Solaris. Also, some battler images and audio files are again missing from the recent version. And not only that, the images that appear during the game's launch are also not there and the game cannot start due to those missing images unless I copy-paste them to www/img/system from a previous version. Also, after talking to a certain someone in East Graape, a sidequest is supposed to trigger where I have to enter a cave to the north, except the cave's entrance is still blocked. Maybe I shouldn't even be able to enter East Graape until some point in the game but I still can, despite being early. And during the cutscene where I receive the Ars Solaris, the characters are far to the right of the camera and some of them cannot even be seen (I know there are 2 versions of the same map that change based on a sidequest in Aetheria but still). I get the feeling that I am going to encounter even more bugs and inconsistencies like these as I try to advance. As if the game was not play-tested properly before release.
As fun as this game is, it's an absolute mess. There are missing audio files (the implied sex scene), at no point was I able to set a subclass despite getting the Second Seal, sometimes items weren't given to me or switches weren't turned on, and half of the later maps have no collision on decoration items.

Now I'm thinking that you're using this as beta testing, however, you've marked this as a complete game, which it isn't. Please test your game before releasing it, because this game is fun when it works and I can see that a lot of thought has gone into the development. (That fake out ending was a really nice touch)

When this is fixed, I'll download it again so that I can replay it properly.
