Synopsis

In the world of Zutara, there was once a great city known as Arcadia, where dragons and humans lived in peace. However, this all changed when a great blood-red meteor fell from the sky, the Crimson Meteor. The meteor wiped out Arcadia along with most of life on the planet, not only leaving few survivors, but also spreading feral beasts known as terrors across the land. This cataclysmic event was known as the Crimson Calamity, and would be remembered for all of time.

Nearly 1000 years later, the world had mostly recovered from the Meteor's impact, though terrors still walk the earth, destroying anything in their path. To handle the threat of the terrors, many groups of brave adventurers have banded together to fight the growing Terror menace and protect the many towns and cities that dot the landscape. The most prestigious of these groups are the Ferngulf Holy Knights, a group that a young man named Koros is working to join.

Koros lives in Ari Village, a small town located on the outer edge of Ferngulf, and lives a peaceful life working at his father's blacksmith shop and doing missions for the Knights in order to join their group. However, during Koros' final exam before he could join the knight's order, Koros stumbles across a mysterious spirit being who calls himself "Kairos," the "seraphim of time."

Kairos forcibly fuses with Koros, causing him to become a Dragonkin, beings who were once dragons but decided to take a human-like form in order to avoid a deadly plague, but can transform into their original dragon state for a limited time. Losing control of his newfound powers, Koros accidentally kills his spiteful uncle in self-defense, and for doing so is banished from his village.

With nowhere else to go, Koros follows Kairos' advice to seek out Archsage Amadeus, leader of the Church of Nargi, in order to learn of his grand destiny. Upon meeting with the Archsage, Koros learns that a noble from east Ferngulf named Baron Ozma seeks to re-create the legendary blade Ars Solaris in order to summon the Crimson Meteor once again. For what reason, that is unknown. To do this, he sent out his 4 female warriors, his "oracles," to collect the 4 shards of the Ars Solaris. Once gathered, the four shards will combine, re-creating the Ars Solaris, the legendary blade that was sealed long ago.

On his journey, Koros meets many new allies, like Tayo the enigmatic bandit-turned-priest, Zenith, the duchess of a town of monsters, and Stacy, a ditzy summoner's apprentice who is a Wingli, a race of winged humanoids who live high above the clouds. With these 3 new allies and the various powers they find along the way, will Koros able to stop Baron Ozma's diabolical plot and save the world? Or is there another foe working in the shadows? Find out in Meteo Chronicles, the first game in the Chronicles of Chronicles series and the first game in the Meteo Trilogy!

Stacy always wanted to explore the surface, and is shocked when the first surface dwellers to visit her home of Aetheria in 1000 years come to rescue her from some terrors. After the heroes stop a conspiracy threatening to destroy order in Aetheria, city of the wingly, the King of Aetheria Azul allows Stacy to travel with the surface dwellers on their quest to stop the crimson calamity. She was once the apprentice of the legendary summoner Sensayu, but she accidentally lost all of Sensayu's summons while he was on a trip. After searching a bit for them and then returning, Stacy found Sensayu dead, but after motivation from Koros, she now seeks to re-gather the 12 summons she lost in honor of her late master.

Extra Notes
The complete game was released on March 10th, 2021. A updated re-release called "Meteo Chronicles R" is currently in development and is planned to contain all content that was cut from the original release, including 2 alternate story routes, 20 additional bosses, 3 new dungeons, 6 new areas, an updated class system, interconnected areas instead of a world map, better teleportation, EX Phantom boss refights, secret randomized events, a day/night cycle, NG+ bonuses, limit breaks, secret archfiend bosses, and more! Meteo Chronicles R is expected to release sometime in 2022. Two sequels are also in the works. The sequel to Meteo Chronicles, Zero Gear Chronicles, is expected to release in 2023. New Update!

Hello everyone. A new update has been added for Meteo Chronicles, hopefully fixing the last few game-breaking bugs this game possesses in order to make it fully playable from start to finish. Here are all the new features, changes, and bugfixes added in the new version.

New Features
-Added in an optional dream world where you can refight all bosses including missable ones to grind for rare drops and complete the bestiary if you missed anything. (like the encounters in Zerithia pre-Zenith and the hidden fight with Arte.)
-Added an updated soundtrack so all songs are now all HD quality. (previously the game used some 16-bit/32-bit songs, which have been replaced with high quality remixes for the most part in order to create auditory consistency with the RTP songs.)

Changes
-Removed internal quest initiations for faster loading.
-Added in notifications whenever something changes in the world or a new quest opens up.

Bugfixes
-Fixed spelling and grammar errors.
-Fixed bug where the screen would fade to black after the ending cutscene of Chapter 6 and would not ever fade back in.
-Fixed a game-bug involving self switches that cause you to become unable to interact with the blacksmith so you could activate the Ars Solaris cutscene.
-Fixed a bug in the final scion fight so that the countdown to their ultimate attack would actually appear.
-All songs now loop properly in engine, not just the RTP ones.
-Fixed bug where the battle music would not go back to normal after the fight with (spoilers) in Stacy's dream sequence.

Ok, I'll start fixing the glitches you mentioned right away. Now I sorta regret not playtesting anything after Aetheria because of how broken the game is lol. Also, the trick in Castle Naughtmare is that there are invisible floors you must traverse to get to the other platforms, though the traversal could be bugged.

Edit: Winning the boss fight at the end of Stacy's nightmare is supposed to be impossible. The enemy is Lv.135 and you're only around Lv.60, and the boss starts the fight off with an instakill attack. (guaranteed 9999 damage to one target) You only have one party member, so this is an instant wipe. The only way to win is by hacking in immortality so you literally can't die, so that's why the game triggers a game over upon winning, as the only way to win that fight is to cheat.
Thanks, I had to replay at bit beginning from Paar, but the soldiers now don't block the southern exit anymore. The Outrealm is also accessible now.

There's a reason why my playtime is already over 40 hours at this point. Since I felt the game provides a strong incentive (cue Nargi's Tear), I buffed my party a bit. My party is now at level 99 and all stats of all party members are maxed (9999/9999/999/999/999/999/999/999) regardless of class/subclass and equipment, except for Jeht (for now). During the mentioned fight, casting Reraise on Stacy on the first turn was all that was needed to be able to win. If I was able to cheat/hack, I wouldn't bother you all the time. ;)

I managed to get all 4 key cards in Castle Naughtmare. Could you please take a look at the rest of the dungeon? After entering the room that required the 4 key cards to access, I once again can't reach the platforms. Also, I'm wondering if there's a way to reach the treasure chests in the northwestern (file 4) room on the first and second floor.

Oh, so you spent 30 hours grinding to max stats. That explains how you were able to defeat a version of the strongest superboss so easily. Anyways, how were you able to get to such a high level? Where did you grind? Is Reraise infinite or does it go away after to automatically revive? Sensayu should be able to kill you before reraise activates as he has a move which combos Gigaflare, Gigafrost, and Gigavolt together into one move that should 1-hit-kill a single character even at Lv.99 with maxed stats. Maybe I should make the superbosses stronger? IDK. By the way, I'll go fixing Castle Naughtmare. I must have missed the central tower when putting down the regions that would allow you to pass indivisible floors. I'll go fix that now.
My grinding would have progressed faster if I had known about Nargi's Tears sooner. The most tedious part was actually stealing Greater Shells and Talismans with only Kairos and Tayo so I could survive in the desert, where I did all of my grinding. Once Kairos and Tayo were at level 99 (and had max stats), they could carry the others, and I love to one-shot enemies using the Mercenary skill "Grand Cross". :D

I noticed that most enemy skills can't hurt me anymore unless
- they hit critically
- they inflict/abuse status conditions or elemental weaknesses
- they inflict a fixed amount of damage, even if random (hello "Comet 2" party-wipe)
- they inflict percentage-based damage, either based on current HP (can't kill) or max HP (very dangerous) or
- they work with special damage formulas like the elemental dragon skills that some enemies in Ozma Keep and Castle Naughtmare use (a surprise attack by four of these enemies usually equals death).

That means there are still a lot of ways to hurt/kill my party (too many for my taste). :D

During the aforementioned fight with Stacy, I simply recast Reraise when she was killed, which only happened once during the first turn, and then I hurried to take care of the enemy with "Burning Cry" (2 x 9999 = 19998 guaranteed damage per turn at this point). I also killed the secret treasure chest boss in Ozma Keep, but doing that was also rewarded with a game-over. :P

You can fight the "treasure chest boss" (the onis) in West Graape by breaking the seal on the shrine. After you fight the first one, you can inspect the rubble again to fight one of the others. After you defeat all three you will get the Nightmare Bat, a weapon that insta-kills everything that isn't immune. (most bosses) Summons in Meteo Chronicles' damage are actually based on the summoner's level, so at Lv.99 they will always deal maximum damage. I should probably change that lol. Maybe in the next update? What's the point of doing 9999 with Sensayu when you can do 9999 with the much-less expensive Basan instead anyways? (unless the enemy is immune to fire of course) Also, I just fixed the last couple issues in Castle Naughtmare with 1.1.15, so yeah. After I binge watch some YouTube Documentaries, I'll begin work on 1.2 of Meteo Chronicles which will add a boss arena. It's about time!
Yeah, the players never play the game as it was intended by the developer. :D

I don't know how much optional content I'll be able to check out today, since I want to learn the Scholar (blue magic) skills first now that my party is complete, but here are some issues that I've found so far:

- After defeating the monster in Ari Village, when the party is supposed to be transported to the world map, the player gets stuck on a black screen (Teleport to the rescue - or not). Actually, the final parts of the cutscene already play out using a black screen as backdrop, and how it's supposed to be can be seen when revisiting Ari Village. Unfortunately, by doing it this way, the cutscene's final parts repeat themselves every time when entering Ari Village (including being sent to the world map at the end), making the location (and the ultima treasure chest in Koros' house) inaccessible.

- West Graape: The Onis (alternating between Gigaros and Gigavos) can be fought an indefinite number of times; the third Oni (with the chance to obtain the Nightmare Bat) doesn't appear. I only fought them two times before your pointer, so I didn't notice this issue before.

- The side quest given by Jeht's father might be bugged (can't say for sure yet). Despite having completed 70+% of the weapon list, he says I only achieved to complete less than 20%. If I reach the necessary 98% and Jeht's father acknowledges this feat, then all's well, I suppose.

- Castle Naughtmare, northwestern (file 4) room, first and second floor: I'm still not able to reach the treasure chests, though to be honest, I was too tired to check out yet again all directions on all tiles.

- After completing Castle Naughtmare, Jeht can't be swapped out of the active party (I'll probably have to stick with him for the rest of my playthrough, but future players might appreciate the opportunity to replace him).

- A bit of an inconvenience: It seems the skill "Full-Life" can't be used during battle (not that I really need this skill, but anyway).
One more issue for which I would appreciate a quick fix:

- Uran: I can't walk on the wooden bridge and thus can't reach the central northern house.

Okay, I understand. Everything you said will be fixed, but the chests in castle naughtmare are fake chests. They are meant to mislead you on the incorrect path to take. It's all a trick.

It seems the "transformation scenario" in Aetheria is also bugged. After talking to Azul, when the machine is supposed to be used again, nothing happens (the machine can't be started manually), and when talking to Azul again, the dialogue is just repeated. It's also odd that the player can walk through everything outside and inside during this scenario, but since it's still possible to interact with people and to change maps, this issue probably isn't related to not being able to complete the scenario.

After getting the ice shard I must run away but when i get o the end (many stairs in bottom line, the secuence repeats indfinitely from the beginning of the escape an i can never return out of cavern.
The floors look all exactly the same, but they actually count as different floors. Just repeat the process (running from north to south and taking the stairs) four or five times until you reach a different floor (the dungeon's first floor).

I'm fixing the issues right now. Sorry I couldn't do it yesterday. I was busy playing Persona 4 and getting stalked by the yandere Yumi in it. I'm already fixed quite a few of them, but just to let you know all three oni were available to fight in West Graape even before this newest update. The weakest, Crimson Gigaros, has a 100% chance to appear the first time and afterward would have only a 50% chance of appearing. The other two Oni, Azure Gigavos and Ebony Gigazos only have a 34% chance and a 17% chance of appearing respectively. So you'll just have to keep soft-resting until you encounter Gigazos, which should be one in every 6 times. You probably just got unlucky. The thing that was broken was the game not giving you the nightmare bat, which I will fix.
Thanks for the update and the clarification. I'll update to the newest version once I've finished the Frozen Crypt. Speaking of which: How many floors does this dungeon have? Is there any indication when I'm nearing the end? I've already walked through dozens of the same preconfigured floor patterns. Edit: Never mind. As always, instead of writing a post, I should have used the time instead to press further to reach the end of the dungeon faster. :D

There are 75 floors in the Frozen Crypt with floors 25, 50, and 75 being checkpoints where you can heal and even stop for now and head back to the surface, continuing where you left off. Also, I highly recommend updating as soon as possible as at Lv.99 the boss will be far too easy with the OP summons and it's low HP. In the new update I heavily nerfed summons and gave every superboss and late-game encounter loads of more HP.
Darn, taking the 25F/50F (and probably also 75F) teleporter on the first floor of the Frozen Crypt results in a black screen. And the 50F Rest Area loops itself, which means the player ends up on floor 50 again when going downstairs.

Edit 1: The same (black screen) happens when taking the 40F/80F/119F teleporter on the first floor of the Skull Cavern.

Edit 2: Skull Cavern: On one type of hot spring maps encountered below 40F, it isn't possible to go downstairs. On the other type, the player ends up at Logi's Grave (which means higher up) again when going downstairs.

Edit 3: What's the trick to defeating Rayakois on Skull Cavern's final floor? He doesn't die when reaching 0 HP, regardless of whether he summons his hatchlings or not.

Edit 4: Ari Village: After defeating the monster here, a sprite of Koros' mum blocks the entrance of Koros' house, making the ultima treasure chest there inaccessible.

When I get the dragon gem, starts an infinite loop telling me that now I have access to the dragon art fire dragon at level 40. Than I cannot continue with th game

@fifcv Okay, I'll fix that right away.

@Spearmidine I fixed the glitches you told me about. If you transfer your save, you will most likely be able to continue the dungeon as normsl.
The teleport to 119F on Skull Cavern's first floor is still unusable for me (black screen), and I still can't kill Rayakois no matter if its spawn has been summoned/killed or not. I can't even tell whether this fight is bugged if I don't know how it's supposed to work.

That treasure chest contains a Small Key. You'll need 6 Small Keys in order to reach the end of the dungeon, but there are altogether 7 Small Keys to find inside the dungeon. Meaning: If you find all other Small Keys inside the dungeon, you can ignore the one that you can't reach at the moment.
