Game description:

STYGIAN is a freeware adventure horror game made by Gustav back in 2015, using RPG Maker VX Ace.

It's about an ordinary man who, one day, suddenly finds himself trapped in a strange, otherworldly maze with no exit in sight. He quickly meets up with a man and a woman who are also trapped inside the maze, and together they try to solve the mysteries surrounding why they ended up there, who brought them here, and how they can escape.

However, they soon realize that escaping the maze isn't going to be as easy as simply looking around for an exit. They are barraged by strange puzzles, writings left behind that seem to raise more questions about their predicament than answers, and, last but certainly not least, a nightmarish monster that very much wants our protagonist dead.

The game is fast paced, with a tense atmosphere and a story that turns out to be less predictable than it may appear at first.

--------------------

Features:

Around 1 hour 20 minutes ish of game time on a first playthrough, assuming you take your time.

Two endings, with one being a bad ending that's easy to go back and avoid. It's not a game where you have to play the whole thing over again to get a good ending.

A handful of puzzles that start out simple but increase in difficulty.

A password-protected zip file of goodies for those that stick around until the end!

--------------------

Warnings:

Contains a couple of brief depictions of gore.

You need to have the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP installed for the game to start up properly.

--------------------

For those who are here from Cat in the Box:

Although Cat in the Box isn't really a sequel to STYGIAN, in the sense that their stories are mostly self-contained relative to one another, the story of STYGIAN does help inform the lore of Cat in the Box, and some of the characters in STYGIAN show up in minor roles in Cat in the Box.

Please keep in mind that while Cat in the Box is a modern game that you have to pay money for in order to play, STYGIAN was a freeware title that the developer created way back in 2015, when he had less experience making games. STYGIAN is still a perfectly good game that executes the ideas that it goes for quite nicely, and you'll probably enjoy it if you liked the developer's other works, but don't expect the same level of polish as Cat in the Box.

Same here. ^^

Edit: Just finished it
so this is the guy who made leave, cool. The extra files suggested that there was another game before that, with some green haired girl with a knife. Wonder what that was.

PS: This game sure loves brute force puzzles, doesnt it

¿Qué podría pasar si mueres? ¿A dónde llegarás?
