Wow. So fun.

Ahem.
From wikipedia: A doge (/ˈdoʊdʒ/; Italian: ; plural dogi or doges) was an elected lord and chief of state in several Italian city-states, notably Venice and Genoa, during the medieval and renaissance per...

Wait! This is not the Doge we're talking about! Ok, let's start over:

Doge is an Internet meme that became popular in 2013. The meme typically consists of a picture of a Shiba Inu dog accompanied by multicolored text in Comic Sans font in the foreground. The text, representing a kind of internal monologue, is deliberately written in a form of broken English.

Ok, so we all know who is Doge, the protagonist of this short game. Doge is soon joined by Carol (not the same named witch from the Rm2k3 database heroes!) the Cat in his adventure that is about the search of missing food and will bring him to face ghosts inside a haunted school.

I'm not really sure that this is better than the other two options!

Doge Quest is clearly a parody game (may I say "joke game"?) that presents many puns and parodies and funny situations, despite being quite short (30-35 minutes or little more I think). The game is all about interaction, solving little puzzles to collect a series of kaycards, that culminates with a switch/lever puzzle and a final combat (not too difficult, and there's only that one!). This is just a simple, short and linear adventure game in which you have to collect items and interact with some places of interests, avoiding bad things. Oh and also read funny dialogues, but that's all!

Graphics are in 90% cases rtp but there are some other rips and edits that clash with the rest, but due to the comedic nature of the adventure it's not too bad.
For what concerns the gameplay, the game is in most parts rather easy, if you just interact with everything you will be able to finish it.
But...ehehe pay attention!

There's a particular interaction that will lead to instant death, and another couple of interactions that won't leave you time to escape a ghost (that, unlike Doge, can move through solid objects). These and a couple of istant kills I wasn't able to avoid (like: exit the room and BAM enemy is right in front of me. I do not react fast enough, I die!) were a bit of a problem. Second problem I had was finding the cat in the school at first, because I was interacting with the right item but NOT from the correct direction! Ow ok, maybr that's my fault, after that I was able to finish the game with no problem, not even with the last puzzle and final combat.

Wow. so strong, much damage!

Verdict
First, did I have fun? Yes, I did, my only complain was the difficulty of avoiding ghosts and their instant kill. The good news is that you can save anywhere so if you have any problem, save-scumming is the way! For the rest this is a cute, little game, even if I expected a bit more from what concerns the ending. Still, not a bad experience either, no bugs or other issues, it's a short but fun ride! 3/5, not because it's an average game but because there were some aspects I liked a lot and others I hated! Try it and see!
