Hey, thanks for the reply! I made a deliberate choice to try and limit JP compared to a lot of games because I wanted resource management to be a challenge - but I'll fully admit I think the beginning of the game is probably too challenging and should've eased players into it more easily.

I noticed you haven't mentioned using LP restoring items to heal instead of JP heals, which is a big thing I balanced the game around (JP heals are ideally only for in-battle emergency)? Did you still feel like that wasn't enough?

Also, there are various MP skills for recovering JP in return for MP too - Amos gets his a bit late iirc, which was probably a mistake on my part, but otherwise Micah and Leah should get Trumpet Blast and Leech Blade fairly early? But anyway I appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind for future.
I've been playing up until the second boss defeat and so far so good although JP(MP) is extremely rare to come by so player have to either:
1)Evac to start of dungeon and go heal up(Probally the least painful option but it make the pacing wonky)
2)Waste one of their extremely rare MP heal(those dont come cheap either)for 30 JP which is only like 2 spell for Michal.
3)Stall out battle to spam heal(This is the most tedious but probally the only way to not leave a dungeon)

This make using new skill too risky and player will default to AOE or stat debuff only unless provide clear benefit maybe you can:
1)Every dungeon now have a heal circle that actually restore JP too.
2)Treasure chest now have more MP heal in general.
3)Character have JP regen so even in fight where Micah AOE nuke the enemy you still regain SOME missing JP.
4)Have leftover WP get convert to JP(although less than the skill provide)

- There's a great number of dialogue windows that contain cut off text, but the cut off parts are usually so small that the player can still fill in the gaps.

- Tunnel to Moab: An indefinite number of Fruits of Strength can be obtained from the treasure chest (on the same level) south of the northern elevator leading to the Street to City Hall. I totally didn't abuse this bug to make my party overpowered (yes, I totally did exactly that).

- Central Factory, 3F: How can the treasure chest closest to the elevator be reached? I tried all teleportation panels (even from all directions), but it seems the connection to this area doesn't exist.

- Hanging Gardens of Babylon, 2F: An indefinite number of Holy Waters can be obtained from one treasure chest.

- Hanging Gardens of Babylon, 1F: If the player returns to the throne room after reaching the Heart of Babylon, a black screen is all that awaits, which is practically game-breaking (while the player can still move and interact with objects, the screen remains black, even when using Evac or Warp). Players are even more likely to find themselves trapped at this point, since the game generally encourages players to return to boss rooms they couldn't manually explore before.

Thanks for a great game!

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I appreciate the bug reports.

The dialogue thing I do actually have a fix for (I finally figured out word wrap's problem)... but I don't want to commit to it without properly testing it works and doesn't make for some v weird formatting at points, so at the moment better the devil I know sticking to the status quo.

I could've sworn the Factory chest was accessible but I couldn't figure it either so I've fixed it. (it's only a Fruit of Wisdom tho FYI)

Also thanks for the throne room info, not only is it a bad bug but I'm also scandalised I didn't even put anything in there worth backtracking for! There's some treasure and an NPC there now. (but only three or so lines so... probably not worth going to the effort of downloading and heading back for) I'll post a new version ASAP.
I really enjoyed this game, especially the superb script, the constantly updated NPC dialogue and the plethora of well hidden treasures and secrets (like the exclusive Wisp gathering spot at
the fountain near Sarah's house in Elpis
). Considering that I didn't find the fabled 17th Prized Postcard despite leaving no stone unturned, maybe it actually doesn't exist.

While I encountered some bugs, they are nothing too serious, but still noteworthy:

- There's a great number of dialogue windows that contain cut off text, but the cut off parts are usually so small that the player can still fill in the gaps.

Malakai can't be defeated >_< even though he's running out of HP.
Is this intentional?

Yeah it's intentional, sorry if that wasn't clear!

In the bonus sequence, playing as a cat, there is an error. After talking to the last guy I got:
Failed to load:img/pictures/malakai%20superboss.png
A png file named malakai is in there but it only shows a message.

Same here, it's v1_3_7

Ahh OK thank you for that. Do you know which version of the game you have downloaded? I thought I'd already fixed that issue but I'm not sure.

@Knightowl I'm really glad you liked it, perhaps in a year or two when I've had time to improve on RPG making I might come back and flesh out Jubilee a bit more. Thanks for all your feedback!

How do i use the accessories it is greyed out in the equip menu?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Which part of the game are you in?
I figured it out, it was at the beginning and I had to wait till a little into the game to use the accessories. I am loving your game it is so good. I have a problem in sarahs mansion, I am trying to set the clock to 6:45 and I can only put in the hour and it only has option for minute not able to put in 6:45. also nothing happens when it try to put out the fire in the dining room and I have the table set with all the food. What am i missing? I am totally hooked on your game.

Oh yeah so you have to put it in the way it would look on an analog clock - so 6 for the short/hour hand and 9 for the long/minute hand. Sorry for the confusion, I'm glad you're enjoying it!

If you do make a sequel I'll be there for it~

Or even if not enough to make a sequel, even a remaster or extension on this game fleshing out their stories/backgrounds more with stuff like Leah's hometown, more restaurant scenarios, etc. would be amazing. Adding an extra floor or two with a gimmick to each dungeon... There's alot of potential.

Honestly you used a lot of great things I love to see in rpg's.
The pearls giving stat boosts I was like 'eh.. maybe later' but on the post game where they're in full abundance and drop from enemies to boost your stats how you like at that point is awesome.
Colosseum's are always fun.
Status ailments really work against bosses.
Having to choose whether you wanted enemies soaked to slow them down (since
a majority of them outsped half of my team.) or hitting them with an enhanced thunder spell or wanting them burned to take damage over time instead. (since the latter two remove the soak)
Sidequests and optional dungeons will always be a favorite.
The collectible postcards (only found 15. apparently theres 17?)
The fact that alot of things and people in the world change overtime as you go through the story if you backtrack.
Just seems a lot of attention and care went into the game which is awesome.

(Hidden for potential spoilers)

Yeah that's a good idea, I'll have a look at those two things, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :) But yeah you're right Amos' outbursts didn't really go anywhere, unfortunately I didn't think I could pull off my original plans w that. If I ever make a sequel I might try re-using some of those ideas though and seeing if I can pull it off. Anyway, thanks for playing, I really appreciate it!
Just finished it.
On note of the pearls, perhaps removing the accessory that costs 70 and having it appear later with the others might be a good thing? To have others not feel they need to save up 70 right from the beginning and feel a bit more free in spending them.

Also, found the dev room, yet when you go to the upper right corner, it says 'cannot load img/pictures/malakai%20superboss.png'.

Great game though, hearing all the ideas that weren't included via the dev room kinda makes me sad, would be awesome to see them added someday and flesh out the game some more. It has some real solid potential to easily be an even longer one.
Feel like Amos' outbursts weren't really explained too much unless I missed/misinterpreted something. He had a few dark moments and it wasn't really spoken of again.
Hi Knightowl, you don't need to apologise for rambling I'm glad you're enjoying the game!! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave some comments. I'll look into balancing the Pearls a bit more, I did think they were maybe a bit too rare for people to spend casually. Meals with the rest of the party is a one-time thing, I ran out of ideas for the rest of them lol. And thanks for reporting the tint bug, I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
