In this short gameplay demo set in a mediaeval phantasy style world, you will play the role of Daliah, a bounty hunter tasked with retrieving the rare item: "Golem's Eyes".

Having accepted the task, now she must venture into the cave. An old abandoned mine shaft, too old for anyone to remember why it existed.

Armed with sword and shield, the bounty hunter must make use of her equipment, skills and wit to explore a full RPG style dungeon with random encounters, puzzles, treasure and mini-bosses.

For Daliah, it was just another job to pay the bills. But the mystery surrounding this particular item's inception and how sought-after it is in the black market suggests otherwise.

Please note that his is mainly a gameplay demo, as such there will be very little story in this version.

Examine anything suspicious for clues, pay close attention to what happens in battles (described in text) and read the items/skills descriptions carefully.

Mini-boss battles function like puzzles in which you need to figure out how to beat them.

The game has been balanced to be challenging, but definitely not impossible.
If you keep losing the same battle, please consider if you used everything available to you and if maybe you should attempt that battle at a later time with better skills/equipment.

Since you can save anywhere (chose the "Save" option from the menu), you should always save before engaging a mini-boss.

You will see the Game Over screen a lot, you're supposed to, the game is built around trial and error when it comes to bosses, that is why you can save anywhere, please use the save function often.

Remember that some skills can only be used outside of battle.

Use the "Defend" command in battle to protect yourself against a strong enemy attack, however keep in mind that you cannot do anything else when defending, so use this only in specific instances.

There's a place to use all the gold you're gathering, you just need to find it...

Looks cool! I'll give it a try soon.

It's a short demo, but I hope you enjoy it!

Let me know what you think about it once you give it a try.

I enjoyed it :)

I'm impressed by the great care you put into designing the battles and the game progression, making sure that the player's abilities/gear and combining them were key to defeat bosses and solve puzzles.
The difficulty and the feeling of reward for identifying the right strategies motivated me to keep playing and beat the game in one sitting.
I also like how that one NPC has different things to say.

I'd be interested in playing an extended version of this already fun concept.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game progression. That NPC will have a larger role in the finished game and since it's the only source of "story" in the demo, I thought that giving him different stuff to say made sense.

The plan is making a full game with 4 different characters to choose from, each with their dungeon and interconnected stories.

The dungeon in this demo would be the least complex one.

I'm still brainstorming new ways to use skills/abilities outside of battles, per example the "mage type" character will be able to use a single Water magic to heal in battles or to make it rain in open spaces, thus creating new puzzle opportunities.

Most of the skills have been planned, now I just need to build the dungeons and write the story, which takes the longest for me.
