Wolf's Gang is a free demo RPG made in RPG Maker MZ by Caz.

Wolfgang the wolfman lived peacefully on the 5th floor of the Dark Lord's tower, until his tragic birthday when the heroes invaded, killed the Dark Lord and destroyed the tower. Now Wolfgang has nothing left - but with the help of the "superstar" skeleton Scarlet from the 89th floor, he decides to rebuild the tower, recruit an army of monsters, and take revenge on the heroes of Goodhero City!

Wolf's Gang is a classic fantasy RPG where you play the monsters.

- Recruit monsters for your army
- Harvest resources all over the game
- Rebuild your base to recruit more members for your party
- Reinforce yourself and your army with various crafts and cooking

Can you help Wolf's Gang become strong enough to take on the heroes?

Alright since I don't wanna write an official review I am gonna warn everyone that this contains spoilers for this short game. So i will try to put this in a spoiler if i figure out how.

This game puts you in the place of the surviving party of the "evil lords" minions who get surprised during a birthday party. Its pretty short, maybe an hour if you dont grind, but i would say it isn't all that good. There is no forshadowing for the ending in any way and it would have been better to keep us oblivious except to maybe have it as a good and bad ending scenario.

Well what about the game?

Magic is weak since weapons don't boost magic and i only used the demon, minotaur, MC and skeleton. With the skeleton and MC having the only real magic spells, which you can't use often due to a ridicolous cost. 50 to 70 mana and even a grinded party at level 18-19 has only around 300 mana at that level. Its just more efficient to whack at things with TP abilities or with normal attacks. The aeo finds hardly any use since you rarely face a group of enemies.

Storywise I personally like the ending of the monsters and humans becoming friends, i just think it needed more forshadowing or give it as an alternate ending. Its a short game and quite alright but yes it isn't really all that good storywise. Can't say anything about the graphics as its the first MZ game i saw and since i played muted nothing about the sound.

I personally quite liked the building aspect but yeah it doesn't really save it for me personally. But its by no means a bad game.

If I had to give it a rating it would be 6/10 or 3/5. But thats probably because i prefer long games with a lot of work into them. I decided not to post this as a review exactly because of that.

Congrats on having the first game up here made with the new engine, Caz. Very nice (you...lucky b*tard).

- This calls for a celebration! I wrote a song for you:

♫ You’re the first, around…! ♫
♫ You’re a tease for what's about to come! ♫

(...Sorry, I'm not quite good at this.)

In all fairness, bird shrapnel isn't as deadly as wood shrapnel

Shucks, demo game *and* custom assets? Impressive, though perhaps an unfair head start. I kid on that last bit; looks cool!
What an ending. Pretty cool little game. And I got to see the new engine!
I'm intrigued! Reminds me of a D&D campaign I came up with but never got to run.

How do you like MZ?
