This game was made in 50 days for the 50 Days of Representation event!

When he was very young, Ross Guarglia knew that his life would be short. But, when he suddenly got so much more life to live, he wasted no time in beginning to live it. With his impressive strength, empathetic heart, and love for story-telling he makes the perfect monster hunter. But, for how long? Is this gig for now or forever? Either way - until he decides otherwise - there's no monster he can't help!

Or, at least, that's what he thought.

Seven years ago, the Onora Laboratory was lost to the sea in an accident, but it's finally been found and there is plenty of unfinished business to be settled! Follow the hard-rocking monster hunters Ross Guarglia, Michael O'rourke, and Domino Taylor as they work to restore the monsters of their world back to human through the power of love, friendship, and rock-and-roll. Right on!

- About 1-2 hours in length depending on how you play.
- Play as the story-loving Ross Guarglia and weapon-loving Mikey as they hunt monsters and come to realize they also love each other.
- Equip badges to gain new skills, stat boosts, and ways to explore the world. Customize your badge loadout according to your playstyle!
- Solve puzzles and mysteries as you explore the world
- Help restore the monsters of the world to their human form!

You're magical to me.

I gave this a play for about half an hour. Here are my notes while playing:

You don't have to ask players to install a font file. If you put it in the game's font folder, it should work without installation.

It's not a huge deal, but you can see the player character on the black screen for just a second before the game starts. There's an option to have the player character start invisible when the game starts in the database, if you're interested :D You'll have to set them to not be invisible when the game starts.

You can go in some doors and get comments, others are impassible.

I tried to fight Mikey's dad and lost (held him off a while with Spike Shield) and the next day, he only had 1 HP. Dunno if that's intentional.

I really like the story and characters, the writing is well done. The gameplay needs some more polish, though. I really like the Paper Mario-inspired elements like badges and different weapons being needed to hit different enemies :D
@Unity I see you're getting around to playing some games now that you dropped you finished one lol! Thanks for giving mine a go! It's definitely unpolished. Unfortunately, I have not had a lot of time to pretty it up and make combat more polished.

I didn't know that about the fonts thing that is probably the most embarrassing thing you reported oof ;w;w;

I did actually know about the transparency thing!! I just uploaded this last version in a bit of a hurry and forgot XD

In that version, I didn't realize the doors were even interactable bc I broke them in one version. I'll put making them all interactable on my to-do list, thanks!

Also thanks for the glitch with Mr. O'Rourke I haven't heard of that one before.

You're the only one who commented on the paper mario influence I think? I hereby award you the paper mario badge!! :D
