Made for the RMN 50 Days of Representation Game Jam, it's...

Saga Crew and the Spire of Mana!

Rudy and Clover are two friends in an adventuring party who have recently climbed the Spire of Mana to ask the Patron of Mana what the whole deal is with some gender-locked magic. They've battled countless foes on their journey to the top which is where your adventure will start! Along the way, they'll pick up even more friends who are happy to help them on their journey to speak to the manager of magic.

Follow the Saga Crew, comprised of:

Rudy, a bard who channels her magic through her electric guitar and has a tendency to get into trouble.

Clover, Rudy's best friend, a the well-meaning but short-spoken rogue who is adept in the art of the blade (and getting Rudy out of trouble.)

Hilda, a berserker warrior who wields the ancient Oinkscalibur, a blade that is the bane of many a force of evil. She climbs the spire in search of her partner, who inexplicably went missing.

Iris, a ditzy, happy-go-lucky mage with a penchant for elemental magic and gardening.

Climb the spire, strengthen friendships, and fight a god in Saga Crew and the Spire of Mana!

Howdy y'all! I hope you folk enjoy this li'l game; I've only got a short demo out at the moment but I'll be making a more finished version which I'm shooting for to be done by next week at the latest. For now, enjoy this little adventure!
I have not played this yet (Soon!!) but

Hey! Played the demo, really cute and funny characters, I like the aestetic, for some reasons it reminds to me of Hyper light drifter, but in a cuter style. Anyway take your time, I'd like to play a complete version!
Having gotten my first 4/5, I must now work hard to obtain... my second 4/5.
Hey there! So, this is the last game I'm checking in the 50 Days of Representation jam, and it's one I've been looking forward to a lot. I see the game is only a demo at this point, so this is a project page comment (in case you couldn't tell, haha)

Overall thoughts

I've saved this entry for last because it's the one I've been looking forward to the most. I've been a fan of Punkitt's art style for the longest time, and finally being able to play a game by them makes me really happy <3

Aside from the cute graphics, I was happy to see that this game is more than just a cute face, as there are many other fascinating things about it. Let's break it down, shall we?

Things I like

- Adorable graphics, including colorful tilesets, cute characters, and cute monsters too.

- Endearing magical atmosphere.

- Everything, from the character animations to the sound effects perfectly fit the cuteness of the presentation.

- Lovable cast.

- Funny writing.

- Lovely choice of music.

- Story explores transgender and transexual issues in interesting ways.

Things I don't like

- There's very little of it.

- Not enough gameplay implemented for me to form an opinion on it.

Final thoughts

So, what little we have here is quite great. I love the characters, the writing, the art style, the music, the story... it's a very pleasant little game to be in, just like I imagined it would be!

As for gameplay, it is promising, but since there's very little of it right now, I don't have a clear idea of how good it is or isn't gonna be once done.

So, while I do think this game is great so far, I'm not sure I can give it a score, since I still don't have an opinion formed on the gameplay.

Some people might be wondering why I sometimes do the "stuff I like/stuff I don't like" format, and other times I'll write a proper review. I mean, it's also very possible nobody is wondering that, but I feel like I need to explain myself somewhere, so it might as well be here.

Usually, I do the list thing when it's just a demo, and a review when the game is complete. I mean, there are some instances where I used a proper review on a demo, but that's usually when I'm unsure on whether a game is a demo or not until I reach the end and/or take some time to view the project page, and then it turns out to be a demo and I don't feel like rewriting the whole thing.

Gosh, thank you everyone!!! I've been super excited about the response so far. I'm gonna put a little more time into this to make it extra special now!
The essence of everything you make is pure unadulterated comfiness
Wow I liked playing this game! The graphics are unique and very agreable, the sounds and music, the characters, the animated battle backgrounds, everything is so smooth and really enjoyable! Can't wait for the rest of the game, good work!
You're magical to me.
Wow, this game is so charming and I love all the little touches. The demo is short but paints a very promising picture :DDD

Though, do you get nothing from doing battles? I didn't notice my EXP going up at all.

Gosh, thanks y'all ;w;
These are SUCh nice compliments.
I'm excited to get back into finishing this one after I polish up Mirra so I can not have two unfinished game jam demo games back to back. After that I can finish this one up and add extra polish that I think y'all will like a lot, like more character expressions and such!!

@Unity I'm so glad you like it!!! You currently get nothing from battles since I didn't really want an EXP system in such a short game. I might give you stuff like healing items or armor from enemy encounters though! I think it might be a good compromise in making battles worthwhile.
You're magical to me.
That makes sense! :DDDD Looking forward to seeing more ^_^
