Hello again! Let's meet the main characters of the game!

Bradley Lamorak
The youngest child of a wealthy and influential family, Bradley lives in the sheltered East Gallia and loves nothing more than carrying his journal wherever he goes and constantly updating it with facts about the world he lives in. He's shy, unassuming and unfailingly polite, which can sometimes make him feel out of place in a city full of pride and bluster. His love for learning will be tested like never before as he begins to learn the devastating truth about Gallia's history and his own family's role in it.

Perida "Peri" Alemarr
A young woman with striking white hair living on the remote Nuntak Isle, Peri lost most of her family in the massacre in Overmoss carried out by the necromancer Solik Darmanus in MotW. Since then, she has lived with her aunt and endured the suspicion of her neighbors due to sharing the same unique hair color as the notorious dark mage Elissa Brightwey. At the encouragement of the Midnight Guild official Rana, Peri leaves the island to seek answers about her past in the large Gallian branch of the guild. The chip on her shoulder and her ever-present skepticism will serve her well in a city like Gallia.

Blaze De Cafer
Like Bradley, Blaze comes from Gallian nobility and lives in rugged North Gallia. His late grandfather is best known for having his rival poisoned in a behind the scenes coup to consolidate power on Gallia's council. Blaze is none too pleased about his lineage and constantly acts out against his exasperated parents, such as choosing Ice Magic when his family has a long tradition of fire mages. He takes a shine to Bradley and enjoys working with him, even though Bradley is frequently aghast at his anti-authoritarian attitude.

Zoe Page
Zoe is the daughter of herbalists in Central Gallia who have made a modest living collecting plants around Euthenia and mixing them into potions to sell to the local shops. She's developed a strong interest in gardening, which is difficult to cultivate in her antiseptic surroundings in the center of the city. While prone to bouts of know-it-all-ism, Zoe has a big heart. Given her passions, Water Magic was an obvious choice.

Nevin Christoph
Bradley's longtime neighbor in East Gallia. Nevin is a cocky young man who enjoys teasing his friends but places a high value on camaraderie and teamwork. More than the others, he struggles to adjust to the Academy, particularly when he learns things about Gallia that he would prefer not to think about. He chose Fire Magic, which has a reputation as the most outwardly masculine school of magic and is known for the irreverent attitude of its guild.

Tanya Marian
A sweet young woman determined to keep her personal struggles with a chronic illness secret from her classmates. When she suddenly has trouble breathing during an early training exercise, Bradley learns of her condition but promises to stay quiet. A major Shroud fangirl, she chose Wind Magic without immediately realizing how it might actually help her deal with her illness.

Kurt Hardwin
Kurt comes to the Academy on a scholarship from West Gallia, the port region that struggles with poverty. Smart and dexterous, Kurt values strategy and quick thinking and was attracted to Lightning Magic. He comes off as unflappable to his classmates, but underneath the confidence is deep hurt and frustration over the death of his father and the pressure it has put on his mother.

Mandy Linette
The other West Gallia student who earned a scholarship to the Academy. Mandy has it even rougher than Kurt. Her mother vanished, her father works nearly all the time at the docks and she spends most of her time alone. Unlike Kurt, she can barely contain her resentment when confronted with the class disparity between herself and some of her classmates. She is taciturn and stubborn, which may be reflected in her choice of Earth Magic. She's also the one who will appreciate the friendship most if the player makes an effort.

That's all for now. Next time, I'll get into some detail about the game's setting. We could also look at some of the supporting cast if anyone's interested. Peace bros!

Look at all these possible friends! It must be fun to balance them all against each other. Did you find yourself having your own favorite character in the cast or do you like them all equally?
It's hard for me to resist a smartass, so Blaze is probably the most fun to write. I've also been pleasantly surprised so far at how Zoe's character is developing in particular, but I like all of them. It makes testing pretty entertaining knowing I can do the same thing with a different person in the party each time.
