Announcement

Updated to 90% Complete!

I've updated the "Cross Demo" to a new build, which is a rather large bulk of the content of the game. I'd say around 90% of it. This update also makes the game self-reliant, and should not require VX Ace's RTP to run.

As for the other 10%, the main concern is the sequence of events that lead to the end of the game, as well as maybe implementing some other side-stuffs for players to do. Saying that, I'm not entirely certain what kinds of side-stuffs to include. For what it's worth, the game has six repeatable bounties to hunt for a bit of EXP/money, but, the idea to include my implementation of Arcomage hasn't completely died off.

Whatever might happen to this game, I've been giving a non-zero number of thought cycles to retiring from gammak. It may very well be a fake quote from Mahatma Ghandi, but, "Make the game you want to see in this world" is a statement that I just don't feel applies to me as it may have once did. I am very much aware that I have said that <GAME_XYZ> might be my last, only to make another game within the context of an event to get more of an MS boost than normal. Which may yet happen again. However, at the same time, if a full year passes from when this game is complete with no further new gamepages from me, the writing was on the wall. Saying this, I want to be frim that even if I do end up retiring from gammak, such would not be a goodbye to RMN. I will continue to be here to help in what humble capacity I can for as long as it is possible for me to do so!

Stream of Consiousness - Worldbuilding

The premise of this game is kinda embarrassing to talk about, because the idea was a something I wasn't planning on distributing to the public. Or at all. Like, okay, the idea was to make an isekai, where the MC was summoned to a mystical realm as a hero, be involved in the world's battles, and could achieve a romance/harem ending if he did the right things.

At some point, I asked myself what if an isekai tale wasn't told from the perspective of the person that was transported into the mystical world? Might and Magic 7 - For Blood and Honor could be considered this, as the game has you meet the initial party of Might and Magic 3 - Isle of Terra, and I'm 90% sure that the opening FMV of Might and Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven says that your party has saved multiple worlds. As if to suggest that the party you're using there is the self-same that you've been using since Might and Magic - Secret of the Inner Sanctum.

There's also the fact that I absolutely loved World of Xeen (please read my LP!), and how it resolved the story of Corak and Sheltem. However, this is not to say that this is a story like the M&Ms of old, where you are chasing characters like Corak and Sheltem.

Who are basically aliens/androids with technology that would feel at home in an episode of Star Trek!

However, on the other hand, I don't want the game's titular interloper to turn out to be a regular person who has been isekaied (is that the right spelling/term?), and only wants to go home except they can't.

I've certainly more details to hammer out in regards to this game. However, it is my intention that in order to obtain the quest that has players looking for the titular character, they will probably need to complete at least one promotion quest. What all those involve is another detail I haven't hammered out, but, a Temple of Aarf (a nod/wink to the Temples of Yak/Moo/Bark/Baa of the main-line M&M series) is being considered!

The current plan is to have a 4x4 gird for the world map, and to have towns/dungeons/castles in their own areas, much like the Might and Magic games of old. The demo currently up only has C2 and C1 mapped out, with one sub-area within those areas to explore. I'm still in the process of figuring out what all will go where, but, most of the game is going to be in Othait, with a few areas in Jugroso territory, and maybe one area on the outskirts of Ashya.
