Before recorded history, a powerful species known as the Nephilim was the ruling race of the world. After being killed or sealed away in a human uprising ten thousand years ago, they are still remembered today as the deities in myths and legends of various pantheons.

"They are a race that values the truth of Reality."
-Some Extradimensional Immortal in a Library

Set five years after the events of Flip Dimensions, Flip Saga follows the adventures of Lily in the dimension of Limbo, a place souls reside when their body in Reality is in a state between life and death. Also accompanying her is \̷n̸̷, and his imaginary friend Ayama.

-Gameplay-
Flip Saga builds on the battle mechanics presented in Flip Dimensions and IVEKNEC, which involves a heavily modified TP mechanic designed to be more easily understood in the heat of combat.

Flip Saga also introduces a new mechanic, Nephilims. By collecting Nephilim Cores that can be found as enemy drops, treasure in dungeons, or as rewards in sidequests, you can summon Nephilims in the Library of Epsilon. Nephilims can be equipped on the player character, giving him their own stats and array of skills and allows him to take on a wide variety of roles in combat.

Dungeons will also play a bigger role in this game. Most dungeons will have interactable elements that will be built on over the course of a chapter. For example, in the first dungeon there are Dinosaurs that will charge at you when you enter their line of sight.

The Mass Seacliff Canceling of 2022

Just a moment before writing this, I've decided to official label "Flip Saga" and "IVEKNEC" as "Canceled".

To say they were only canceled just now is ingenuine, the fact is they haven't really been touched for nearly two years now.

William Faulkner stated "you must kill all your darlings", and in these case, I think that means everything.

Flip Saga was an idea that started about as early as Flip Dimensions. Wanting to make that game absolutely had influence over how Flip Dimensions ended... and I think that game is worse for it. Flip Saga felt like a game that I thought would be cool to make, rather than something I actually wanted to make. The plans I had for the gameplay, which included mechanics that were not present in the demo, were too ambitious for me to implement.

So for now, the world of Flip is going to remain as it is five minutes before the end of Flip Dimensions. Pretend Kazuki never got a phone call.

IVENKEC, on the other hand, is a game that could be in theory be completed, but in practice isn't really anything beyond the basic idea I showed in the demo. The project really only exists as a mean to display my distaste towards modern JRPGs, only to later find out after making the demo that games like Persona 5 and DQ11 can still carry what I liked about the genre. And to be quite frank, the plans I had for the game almost became self-parodying, as it accidentally paralleled the mechanics of modern JRPGs I didn't like.

Basically, over time, I got kind of tired of being cynical and the game itself wasn't the experiment I hoped it would be.

Does this mean I'm leaving the RPG Maker community? Absolutely not. I still have plenty of ideas for projects, but I decided not to share a game until it's at least halfway done. I'm still going to have playtests to make sure these games are critiqued and polished, but it's going to be done privately.

I want to apologies for hastily showing off both these projects when they were clearly too early in development to be proven concepts. I also apologies, and thank, those wanting a sequel to Flip Dimensions. I have been unfair to them as that was a tease I baked into the first game, and that tease really shouldn't have been there. I've been unfair to those people and I feel like I took advantage of their trust.

But I do hope that if you liked Flip Dimensions, you would still check out any future stuff I put up. I believed I learned my lesson here, and I hope not to repeat these mistakes again.

So, wow...

It's been a really long time since I played with any RPG Maker Games, but seeing as I'm getting back to playing these, I'm surprised this came out. Flip Dimensions was one of the greatest ones here and I'm happy that a sequel is coming out.

It's really nice to see that most of the system and lore from Flip Dimensions have carried over. Lily's development is something I want to see because there wasn't really much to characterize her back in Flip Dimensions.

I was really happy to see Kazuki and Rin again. Even though we don't see him fight, it's clear Kazuki's still got it. Yeah, managing MP and TP back in Flip Dimensions was a chore, so I'm happy that it's more manageable here.

I'm looking forward to the development of this game. It's best not to rush it, though so I'm hoping we get to see more of this game soon!

BTW, playing Tea Garden on Lily again was a nice touch. I really like the theme!

I don't know why I missed this comment when it was originally posted. I swear I was checking for updates every week.

Regardless, thanks for the kind words! It does mean a lot. I'm taking my time with this one (and IVEKNEC, my other 'active' project) because I want them to be the best games they can be. I learned a lot about RPG design when making Flip Dimensions, so I'm glad people like that game and are looking forward to see how it continues. Lily was a character I really wanted to focus on in this game.
=lato and rockwell fonts are same
=lily looks like a guy
=wtf is going on am l supposed to play the first game to understand
=how am l supposed to read formulas if l cant see my main stats in combat, not like players are going to math it up anyways, there are plugins to see the exact damage/healing you will do but even then its useless if you cant see the enemies hp
=left clicking(action) on battle end doesnt end it have to right click(cancel)
=while actor skills are fine, enemies skills are boring just a random attack 2 actors and if the same get hit twice its almost a 1 shot
=healing is a must have so fire spirit is useless, attack all enemies is bad since they must be focused 1 per 1
=probably should say buff is stackable didnt know until the end
=if you start tp at full on fights players are just going to do the same thing over and over at first and it gets repetitive

I'll consider these in the next update. Thanks for playing!
I hope this game is still being worked on. I really look forward to playing it! I'm going to download the Demo now and see what it is about. Keep up the great work!

I'm in a bit of a creative slump, but the game isn't in hiatus or anything. I just need to sort some things out before moving forward. Thanks for playing!
