Don't Judge A Game By Its Assets

Succubus Shop is a game about selling some stuff and your goal is different each time/level

When I first saw this, I was like, "Whoa! Default RPG Maker Assets? Ok, if you're gonna do that then I expect a good game."

My expectations were met and my day was made.

The game started out with a quick tutorial which is good.

Some customer comes in to order something, you go and get it and you negotiate the price.

For being repetitive as hell, the game actually had my attention 100%

I failed a lot though but I wasn't frustrated.

I failed in a way that made me stop and think, "What if I did this? What if I did that?"

I first tried to be nice to customers and sell them for a fair price, but I wasn't meeting the goal which is why I had to force myself to sell them at an outrageous price!

It was fun seeing the reactions of the customers. I wasn't backing down with their complaints though. Screw them. I need money.

I did that for all 12 levels and I enjoyed each of them. There are timed levels which was really a heart pounding challenge. I never felt this way before when I play RPG Maker Games

Then there are the little things like talking to the townspeople, figuring out how to get to that person that I first thought was unreachable, unlocking skills and stuff

One thing I noticed is why do I have to go to the save slot (at the INN) in order for me to see how many hearts I currently have? I can also say the same thing for the Story/Skills unlocked.

Then the other mini game where you clean your shop. Gotta time carefully and get 3 hearts, if you get even one skeleton, then you get no hearts

My gripe with that is the slot thing is a little too small. My eyesight is bad which is kinda hard for me to time it right and I have the worst luck. I don't like that. Maybe other people will.

Aside from that, I really enjoyed this game.

It's creative, funny, simple goal and a great example of Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover

Thanks for this review, mate. It shows me that I did some things right during development. :)

Personally, I love the RTP assets. They're neat graphics, easy to edit, and also tons of them available (I develop all my games with these graphics. You might want to look into those games as well).

Anyway, I'm really happy to see this game being received so well and thanks again for taking the time to write this review.
