Characters

Koros

Gender: Genderfluid Male
Age: 21
Race: Dragonkin
Class: Blademaster
Element: Fire
Weapon: Chronoblade
Ultimate Skill: Infinity Blade/Zettaflash
Description: One of the legendary heroes who defeated the demon Baetylus and the evil warlord Ozma 2 years ago. He possesses the Firebrand, the mark of Valfa's
chosen, and has gone on many adventures both before and after his quest to stop
the crimson meteor. He is wise and resourceful, but also a bit hot headed. He
used to be extremely perverted two years ago, but has mostly gotten over that. He also enjoys crossdressing in private and occasionally every once and a while, and he's good at it too. He's also a huge fan of the "bunny bingo gang" idol group, believe it or not.

Chili

Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Race: Unknown
Class: Sorceress
Element: Dark
Weapon: Deathqueen
Ultimate Skill: Bohr Omega
Description: A mysterious woman who was found on the side of the road near the Lich's crypt. Possesses great knowledge about dark magick, or "elder magick" as she calls it, and is very shrewd, if strangely cheerful. Is Koros' closest ally on his quest through the crypt, and may be just as powerful if not more so than Koros himself.

The Lich

Gender: Unknown
Age: At least 3000
Race: Terror
Class: Necromancer
Element: Dark
Weapon: Unknown
Ultimate Skill: Unknown
Description: An immortal, ancient, undead mage who was said to grant people immortality during ancient times on request. Refusing to die, the mage used their largely unfinished immortality spell on themselves, turning them into the undead monstrosity you know them as today. They seek to consume all the world's people, and therefore, their knowledge, under their control in one united hive mind. Koros must stop them!

Fire Scourge

Gender: Male?
Age: Unknown
Race: Terror
Class: Pyromancer
Element: Fire
Weapon: Flame Whips
Ultimate Skill: Firestorm
Description: A massive, overgrown ghost who loves spicy food. Some say he used to be a famous chef when he was alive, others say that he was a serial killer famous for baking people alive, and some say he was both. Either way, he's a very dangerous foe, and now owns his own restaurant for the undead where the main course is YOU!

Ice Scourge

Gender: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Race: Terror
Class: Cyromancer
Element: Water
Weapon: Icy Spike
Ultimate Skill: Icestorm
Description: The smartest and fastest of the Lich's generals who knows more about Chili than he lets on. He repeats over and over that Chili is some sort of "traitor." What could that mean?

Thunder Scourge

Gender: None
Age: Many
Race: Amalgamite
Class: Chaos Warden
Element: Thunder
Weapon: Chaos Swarm
Ultimate Skill: Thunderstorm
Description: A mindless mass of many suffering minds and souls. It only has one instinct: destroy, but regardless of it's non-existent intelligence it is still one of the Lich's most powerful minions and is not to the trifled with. It constantly seeks it's own demise due to the constant pain it feels. Will you be the one to finally end it's suffering?

Anna

Gender: Female
Age: It's a secret!
Race: Human?
Class: Merchant
Element: Light
Weapon: Golden Bow
Ultimate Skill: Gilded Thorn
Description: A suave merchant girl who always seem to be at the right place at the right time, always ready to sell whatever goods she has in stock. She always seems to be in multiple places at once, with her many "sisters" working independently in every town and dungeon entrance. Who exactly is this mysterious woman? Is she is goddess? A multi-dimensional hive mind? A forgotten first dragon? We may never know.

Barbello

Gender: Ascended
Age: Infinite, (Zutara years) 19 (celestial years)
Race: Celestial
Class: Creator
Element: Celestial
Weapon: True Solaris
Ultimate Skill: True Infinity Overdrive
Description: The true creator of Zutara and progenitor of all life in the Zutara Multiverse. She was the one who spawned the seed that would form the World Tree, and her children are the gods Zophia and Elzakalas, one of pure light, the other of pure darkness. She appears often in the background of these various tales to inform of viewer (or player) of various things and important meta information. She also serves as the narrator of the events taking place, but rarely if ever interacts with her creations and if she does she's in disguise, at least to her creations, as they cannot grasp even her mere existence.

???

Description: A mysterious and creepy girl that looks a bit like Koros. Who is this woman? How is she connected to Koros? Does she even exist? Maybe, maybe not...

Major bugs fixed!

Hello everyone. Recently, two major bugs had came to my attention that were plaguing this game, both being completely game-breaking. One was a glitch that blocked off access to the boss of the fleshy crypt, and the other one stuck you in a wall when attempting to enter the evil hallway. However, I am pleased to announce that both glitches have been fixed, so now Crypt Challenge EX should be completely bug free. Enjoy!

1. First of all - there is no file "sandstorm" in non-existing folder img/parallaxes (I created some random image to get along with game), which umakes it impossible to play game
2. No event starts with that Chili girl, who lies outside cavern, but when you enter crypt, she is suddenly talking but not in your party.

Please fix those problems. That's 2 mins in game with ugly bugs.
Fixed in the newest update.
I feel a little dumb...

in the flesh room i continue going around, because i can't let all of the wall go down

Anyway

tried to go directly to the lich, but i end OUT of the staircase, stuck. So i cannot move. Is it intended? Do I have to wait the 60 seconds?
To progress past the evil hallway, you must interact with every corpse on the stairway. Some of them are just regular corpses, while others are Omega Zombies in disguise. After defeating all 6 omega zombies, you will be automaticly brought to the "final rest" right before the final battle with the Lich. This is the case no matter if you go straight to the lich or go later after certain objectives have been completed.

ehm ... no.
I simply can’t Walk. The sprite stands OUTSIDE the ladder so i cannot move. I am stuck in a blank spot in the middle right of the screen

And...
can you give a hint for the corpse walls? No matter the order i just continue having 2 wall on!
I don't know what your talking about the "corpse walls," but my guess is your talking about the flesh/thunder room. When you interact with one of the switches/orbs, it will tell you if the wall disappeared or re-appeared. If it says the wall re-appeared, press the switch again to make that particular wall disappear. There are three total walls and three switches. I'll check it out to find any possible glitches, but this room worked perfectly fine in the MV version which this version is heavily based on, so there shouldn't really be that issue.

That's the room. The problem is that all the switches move the same pillar.
Anyway the first stated issue is game blocking because THE PG IS STUCK IN THE WRONG SIDE OF THE SCREEN!!! I can not walk, simply.
I checked the game and fixed the glitches you described. You should now be able to fully play through the game without issues!
Hello, I can't play the game because of the missing 'sandstorm'. Can you put the separate link for that one?

P.s when I open the image file, there's no parallaxes file where the sandstorm supposed to be
The glitch you mentioned has been fixed. Enjoy the game!

I just download it 2 hour ago, and still the same problem
Its really not a glitch, more like missing file(s)
I fixed it at 5:32 PM GMT. 2 hours before your post would be at 3:49 PM GMT, which is before I fixed the glitch. The new version is v1.1.2, if you were wondering. I'm pretty sure I fixed the problem since I added back the files (which were automatically removed with auto export due to plugin shenanigans) and then zipped the files.

Edit: I just looked at the new version of the game. I seems to work perfectly on my end. Are you sure you got the latest version? I'll go check the downloads right now.
Hello, another problem. When I entered the throne room, my character is beside the stairs and can't move at all.
Have Version 2.1.2: Koro's beginning healing spell just does damage, it doesn't heal. With a move like that I aught to be "healing" the enemies.

I tried last version, unfortunately there were these problems:

- Effects aren't centered on the opponents but in the upper left corner
- Thunder Scourge for some reason is identical to the Ice Scourge, unlike in the drawings above
- the corridoor before the Lich lags a lot until the end of the countdown
- in the same corridor Koros has different facesets. Probably the old ones
- typos: decicious, assosiating, disapates
- in the Fire Scourge part sometimes the dialogues go out from the screen (I won't comment the instant dead scene if you trick it anyway... it was unfair like in the 1st version)

now the serious problems:
- In the Fire Scourge path it's blocked and you need to press and interact to make it start a dialogue that probably should initiate automatically
- I had to fight the Fire Scourge TWICE in a row, then Chilly was kidnapped and I fought the Ice Scourge (and the secret boss) by myself even if they still referenced Chilly even if she was not present
- game breaking bug: the door to the final room leads to the character standing on the black nothingness next to the path (right tile), Koros cannot move from that spot so... I could not finish the game!
@TheRPGMakerAddict I'm working on the fixes right now. A few of the problems seem like easy fixes. Just eventing errors and the like. But the "effect" glitch confuses me. What "effects" are you talking about? The animations? The UI? How do they appear? When to they appear? What do they look like? What kind of animations are they? I need those details so I can fix the relevant glitches. Also, this game is a sequel/epilogue to Meteo Chronicles. You won't understand the plot or the majority of the context unless you play that game first. Thanks for the reply. I get on to fixing both this and MC right away.

Edit: The issues you mentioned have all been fixed, maybe except for the "effect" bug that you mentioned, that I still don't really understand what it is. The instant death effect was made for "outsmarting the fire scourge" as a sort of troll moment. After all, the boss is the one that's in control. He could technically use Dark Rexflame at any time to instakill the party, but that line of spells comes at a heavy cost.

In the lore the "Rex" line of spells are tier 6 (the highest tier) spells that can damage or even kill the user upon use, but are extremely powerful. A dark version of Rexflame (the fire variant) would be x4 as strong as the standard Rexflame spell as dark flame is 4x stronger than fire, shadow flare is x4 stronger than nova, etc. Therefore, using that spell would not only likely kill the party instantly, it would also kill him, so that's why he doesn't use it in his fight. The only reason he used that spell was because he was pissed at you for outsmarting him. Sorry I didn't portray this in the game. I'll probably include it in a journal or something in a future version lol.

If you're interested in the further lore of the spell tiers, you can read all about it down below.

Chronicles Spell Tiers Lore

Tier 1: No prefix, standard power, single target. (Fire, Stone, Thunder, Stone, etc.)

Tier 2: "El" as prefix, major tier power, multi target. (Elfire, Elstone, Elthunder, Elfrost, etc.)

Tier 3: "Arc" as prefix, massive tier power, multi target, hits two times. (Examples: Arcfire, Arcstone, Arcthunder, Arcfrost, etc.)

Tier 4: No prefix, but spells in this tier have unique names and effects. For example, Boulogne (tier 4 fire spell) hits all foes only once but lowers their RES (mdf) and inflicts burn, while Blizzard (tier 4 water spell) hits all foes 3 times but has a high chance to miss outside of icy terrain. Possesses severe tier power and can be single target, multi target, multi hit, or any combination of the three. (Examples: Quake, Thoron, Seraphim, Oblivion, Supernova, etc.)

Tier 5: Same as the previous tier, but these spells often times have stronger effects and possess colossal tier power. Some examples include Meteor which hits 4 random foes or Grand Bolt which hits all foes 4 times but with low accuracy outside of rain or thunderstorms. (Valflame, Tidal Wave, Judgement, Black Hole, Biohazard, etc.)

Tier 6: The highest tier of magick which is also the most dangerous, with spells in this tier often causing great harm to the user and/or the environment, and it's mere use can cause massive damage to the natural ether flow of the universe. Thus this tier is known as "forbidden magick," and mages are banned from using it across the board, unless they are criminals who want to destroy the very fabric of the world however.

Some spells in this category include the Ragnarok Triad of Forblaze, Aureola, and Apocalypse, which deal unreal fire, light, or dark damage respectively to all foes 4 times while either lowering their RES (mdf) by two stages and inflicting burn and doom, (Forblaze) their MAG (mat) by two stages and inflicting blind and silence, (Aureola) or inflicting every non-lethal status in the game at a 100% rate, (Apocalypse) though they cost all current AP and 75% of current HP to use, along with a "Ragnarok Token" which is incredibly hard to find or craft. Only artificial beings without a soul and/or beings of pure darkness can use this power without incredible harm coming to their bodies and the use of a rare Ragnarok Token.

This tier also possesses the forbidden spells with the "Rex" prefix which drain the user's HP equal to their level (a.lv x 100) to perform incredibly powerful attacks that are based on the formula ((a.mat + (a.level * 10) * 50) - b.mdf * 25) As you can see from the formula, this spell is incredibly powerful, but unlike the Ragnarok Triad it can only target one foe and costs an absurd amount of HP, only raising per level maxing out at the near-cap of 9900. If you're level is low and your foe's RES high, you'll deal almost no damage, but if the stars align just right and you're around max level you can do insane damage far above the damage cap, which by the way, all tier 6 spells break.

That entire area with the fire scourge was supposed to be a reference to the diner secret dungeon in Breath of Fire 2, and to my memory an instakill event also happened in that game if you tried to outsmart the boss. Though that game doesn't have a traditional game over sequence. Dying just returns you to your last save point with 50% of your current money lost. (though you can store excess money in banks which are located in nearly every town to circumvent this) The only way to get a game over is to get the bad ending, otherwise actually dying for real is impossible. So yeah, you got trolled. Luckily that doesn't occur too often in my games, so for the rest of both this and Meteo Chronicles you should be good.

I meant the effects of the special attacks, they appear on the upper left corner of the screen and not centered on the enemy or the character that is hit by fireballs/eartquakes or other special moves

Yeah, I know this is a sequel and I plan to play Meteo Chronicles too, anyway I already played the first version of Crypt Challenge to the end, I already know the plot and so I decided to start from here. No worries, I was just judging from a gameplay pov.
Okay, got it, but I still don't understand what you mean by effects. So the animations run fine? Or are the "effects" your speaking of the damage numbers and stuff? Do you mean like status effect animations? The weakness boxes? I still don't understand what you mean by that.
