Announcement

Spider Trek v2.0!

I have finally finished polishing this game! The most notable change is the addition of unique pixel art illustrations for each of the 12 possible deaths, but I also did the following:

  • Compiled from the latest version of Adventure Game Studio (3.5.1), which fixes a bug involving switching to fullscreen

  • Added a Quit GUI accessible by pressing Esc (Pressing Ctrl-Q still aborts the game as well)

  • Fixed typos/text formatting and made small changes to the writing

  • Altered the animation a bit

  • Changed the title Screen

Additionally, I now have a version for Linux*.

Have fun playing the game, but be warned: It's a spider-eat-spider world out there!

*To run in Linux, do the following:
1. Open the terminal and go to the folder containing the game
2. Run the command "chmod +x SpiderTrek"
3. Go into the data directory
4. Depending on whether you're using 32-bit or 64-bit Linux, run the command "chmod +x ags32" or "chmod +x ags64"
5. Go back to the main directory and run the command "./SpiderTrek"

Preparing the Final Product

This project is still active! I'm currently making all of the changes required to make it the best that it can be. Here's a rundown of what's being done:

  • Upgraded to AGS v. 3.5.1, eliminating a glitch that occurred when going into fullscreen

  • Added ability to quit through a menu brought up by hitting 'Esc'

  • Font changed to something more readable

  • Placement of text adjusted

  • Added art for each death "scene" (My first foray into pixel art!)

Unfortunately, I can't say when it'll be done--as I move slowly and am still learning--but for now, here's a sneak peak of the art (might change!):
