“A shadow looms over the small Kingdom of Nohrica and not even the Burgmarkian Guard seems capable of dealing with all the turmoil threatening the once peaceful country.

There are a thousand stories coming from far away places about the Hackers, powerful mercenaries ready to face any challenge (... for a generous payment!).

It seems as good a time as any to test the veracity of those legends!”

※ Game Information ※

Ruin Hacker is a tactical role-playing game focused on party and equipment management and also treasure hunting.

Taking control of a band of adventurers, you must complete a number of quests to progress through the game. Instead of maps featuring large scale battles, every quest will challenge you to progress through different areas divided in smaller sections with the aim to complete each quest's objective.

Most weapons, armors and valuable items are randomized and obtainable by defeating enemies, finding treasures and as quest rewards. Consequently, all quest can be repeated and each area offers different branching paths.

※ Game Features ※

  • Assemble your party wisely and guide them to victory!

  • Master your skills to succeed in challenging tactical battles!

  • Several characters (classes) to recruit and train!

  • Randomized loot! Including treasures, weapons, armors and quest rewards.

  • Branching paths! Revisit previous cleared quests to fully explore each area.

Hey Anon! At present, I'm really just focusing on finishing the game and stuff, and that idea (although I always found it funny to implement in any game) is perhaps a bit beyond the scope of this project. ^^

Oh golly, I could just imagine separate "game over" screens for each defeated hero if doing it Fire Emblem style. X3

Trust me, that idea has crossed my mind more than once! xDD We'll likely have another (in)famous GO screen, but perhaps more uh... considerated towards SRPG95 limitations, LOL!
Awesome! Congratulations on finishing. I'm definitely going to play this soon >:)
Thank you very much Sir! That'll be a honor! Sorry beforehand if there's anything broken that I'm not aware of! ^^U
Could you give us some hints? Most of the game is pretty intuitive but some things can be a bit annoying without proper info, like what do exactly every stat do or how to obtain the blood stones and reawakening book. I have every book except the gladiator one and the extra enemies in the maps don't drop it.
Hey there DBAV!

First of all, thank you very much for playing the game (so thoroughly even!).

The stats are as follow:
*** SPOILER ***
H . V . (Heroic Value) = That's the rank (or current level, if you prefer) of the character.

HEALTH and ENERGY = I guess these are self-explanatory.

WEAPON ATK: This is the character's base melee damage (STR) + bonus damage granted by his equipped weapon (if any). Though it doesn't take in consideration the extra damage provided by "magic weapons" (those with a +1 & +2 at the end of their name) since it depends on the enemy's "armor type".

ACTION SPD: This is the character's chance "to hit" and/or "evade", and it comprises the character's DEX + bonus granted by "magic weapons". The "armor type" the character's currently wearing might grant bonuses or penalties to these calculations. Also, the higher it is (versus an enemy's ACTION SPD) the better chance to double attack or counterattack.

ARMOR DEF: This is the character's base melee damage reduction, and it's a combination of the character's END + bonus reduction provided by the currently equipped armor.

WILL (Willpower): This is the character's base damage reduction against the enemies' spells. "Magic Armors" (again those with the added +1 and +2 at the end of their name) increases slightly this reduction and higher INT increases this further.

STR (Strength): The character's base "melee damage".

INT (Intelligence): The character's base "spell damage".

DEX (Dexterity): The character's base chance "to hit" and/or "evade", let's say.

END (Endurance): The character's base damage reduction against melee damage.

The tomes of reawakening and bloodstones were meant to be something there for the more dedicated players to find and experiment with (in a way) and aren't vital to complete the "basic ending" (that is to say I'm really happy you got them!).

*** SPOILER ***
Each extra enemy can potentially drop 2 different tomes. The GLADIATOR's actually dropped by the OOZE. However it isn't a 100% drop (more like a 50%).

However, are you sure you don't have any in possession already or you wanted to know what exactly you can do with them? Because if you have found some tomes, you should at minimum have ONE with you now.

*** SPOILER ***
Each extra enemy, the same you got the tomes from, will drop a bloodstone (100%) BUT only if at the moment you defeat them there's NONE in your inventory.

If there's anything else I can help you with, ask away!
And thank you again for playing the game. ^^
Thanks for the detailed explanation! Since the game has random growths I made sure to find those tomes or I could end with seriously crippled characters.
My pleasure! I'm a nerd for this stuff, lol
And you did well, that was the point behind it (since controlling the random growth for all character isn't exactly fun) but hope it doesn't turn into a total overkill. lol
Random growths + random drops for even the most basic things are usually a mood killer for my hoarder/collectionist mentality but your game is good enough to forgive that.

The non-masochist, non-OCD player in me agrees wholeheartedly! Look at the positive side, at least there's no achievements/trophies/whatever.

i know the game's already finished and released (congrats! it's terrific!) but i still second this!
Thanks Koff! That will be the FIRST feature to implement once I start working on the "Geneology" or "REawakening" DLC, LOL Happy late April Fool's day to you too! ^^
