Titled 風の色、鮮やかに in Japanese, Concerto is an RPG Maker 2000 game created by Shou (Cogwheel), the same creator behind the RM2000 game Nocturne and its remake, Nocturne: Rebirth. Concerto takes place several years after the events of Nocturne, and follows the story of Ricks Stanford, the Budding Healer, and Schneidt Hannibal, the Apprentice Smith. Two boys from the town of Ries who aim to become adventurers. Following the guidance of their trusted informant, Sharon, the two explore an old ruin inside the woods near town and come across a mysterious jewel. They would then encounter a Mage named Millia Sylvestry, who seemed in desperate need of it. Learning that the item in question is called a Mana Sphere, this encounter would mark the beginning of the three’s journey to collect the rest of the Mana Spheres scattered throughout the region as they chase down a malignant being of destruction… a Devil.

Gameplay-wise, Concerto plays like most conventional turn-based RPGs. It does have a few unique features of its own however, as described below:
-The ability to take two weapons into battle, and switch between them as needed*. You will want to make use of this, as there are several different weapon types, each with their own characteristics. In addition, some weapons are more effective against certain types of enemies. For example, spears can ignore half of an enemy’s defense, making them ideal for fighting armored foes, while Bows are very effective against flying enemies. Gear yourself up with the best weapon suited for your foes, or just based off your own preference.

-In addition to the above, the game also features a simple, yet challenging smithing mini-game to forge your own weapons with. The material used and how fast you can finish determines the quality of the weapon. Do well enough and you can create a weapon that outclasses those found in chests or shops!

*Note, this also has the unfortunate effect of making your stats in the equipment menu a little misleading, as they’re taking into account the stats from BOTH equipped weapons, whereas only the top one matters

(closing notes: this is my first translation project of any kind. I do not guarantee 100% accuracy to the original meaning or text, but I do hope at least that I was able to transmit the game’s story well enough. As the two games have some relation, I also made an effort to keep terms consistent with Eplipswich’s translation of Nocturne: Rebirth, though I’m sure there are some I may have missed)

Let me know if you run into any issues.

-Fixed an oversight with the smithing mini-game in the Burgundy Smithy which caused Schneidt's dialogue when retrying to skip over.

A Warning: Due to a bug the game will hardlock if you head to the Paserat tunnels, pick up a Magical Seed, and interact with the lava at the northernmost point BEFORE finishing the Juray Mountains (and obtaining the Red Manuscript from it)

What a cool surprise! Only thing I DID NOT like of Nocturne is that it was not a Rpgmaker2000 game lol!

Jokes aside, I'll be happy to play this one! Well done.

I just hope someone will someday translate also Osahal's Rm2k games.
Well, Nocturne WAS an RPGmaker 2000 game, it's just that particular version is not available in English to this day lol.

So who's Osahal and what are their games? Since you brought it up, I'm a little curious. (not that I have plans on translating them atm, this project took me almost a whole year lol. I just want to take a look at what they've made)

Oh yes, you are correct! It's just that I am familiar with Nocturne Rebirth... I forgot the original one.

Osahal made two peculiar dark futuristic Rpgmaker2000 games with religious overtones called E. Eve returns the Eden and D. Doomsday Door (both are easily available on the net). I was impressed because of the custom sprites/portraits/cutscenes and strange setting (also it is quite violent, but has some Akira references, so you may expect this).

I am writing a guide and just unlocked the smithing.
Is there a chance to get a more handicap friendly forging weapons option for me?
I tried twice but failed both times. My reflexes are too bad and the Hardness only reaches about 50%.
Really sorry about that. I was worried some people might have trouble with it, but I don't know if there's anything I can do to make the system more handicap-friendly. As this was a translation I want to avoid messing with the game's mechanics/code wherever I can help it, out of fear that I might break something.

I did have some trouble with the minigame myself at first, but I got a better hang of it with time. However, if our reflexes differ, then it might be a different story for you.

At the very least, maybe I can offer a tip? Assuming you didn't know already, the best time to pound the weapon is when Durability (and maybe Heat too, but I'm not sure) is high. It won't go up very high when Durability is at about halfway or lower, so that'd be a good time to cool it and bring the Durability back up. But once again, this is assuming this isn't something you knew already.
I have a gameplay video on youtube which also showcases how I go about the mini-game. It should be around the 3:48 mark

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If it's still too big of a problem, I might consider doing 'something' about it, though I'm still wary about modifying the game's mechanics.

I have given up on forging for now and perhaps let someone else "forge" the weapons for me, after I have gotten the necessary material (still need 72.000 Gems) before I have to proceed with the main story.

But I have found a Gamebreaker!!!
Location: Paserat Tunnels, lava lake
When you reach the lava lake (currently an DEAD END), you get hardlocked at the northern most point. I don't know what Ricks and Schneidt are supposed to do there, but you have to reset the game with F12 there.

At the Vil Tunnels is a similar spot (water) but without the hardlock.
This is where I will grind for the needed money.
I write a guide and did some schematic maps for those dungeons.
Oh, at one point of the story are you at?

You got locked in the Paserat Tunnels? To get past there, you need two Magical Seeds, one can be found in a chest in the tunnels, while the other can be obtained from Raster as part of a story event.
(Unfortunately I don't have time to see what's going on with this hardlock right now, but I'll try to do so once I am able)

Getting past Vil Tunnels doesn't come until late in the game.

For the Main Story I have to go to the Forest NW of Ries, so I do optional stuff now.
I found 1 Magical Seed in the Paserat Tunnels.
Still I shouldn't get a gamebreaker when I go to the lava lake with only one seed.
I want the forged weapons before I go further (but to earn so many gems, app. 700 or more battles in the Vil Tunnels).
I feel like Alice in Wonderland with all those cards.

I still could provide you with a save and you forge me the weapons for the first 2 materials (Iron Ore and Costa Steel) before I go to bed. Perhaps you can forge them and note down what wepons where from the Iron Ore and what from the Steel.
Then I can play further (and find more profitable dungeons).
This is really cool. I might not have the time to get around to looking at this any time soon, but at a glance this looks like a very well put-together translation and I think that any effort at translating hidden gems from other countries for English-speaking audiences should be commended. In the meantime, I'll be showing this to my friends who might be interested in this kind of game. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! Looking back on my translation process I do feel like there were parts of the text I could have done better, and of course the fears that I may have translated this or that wrong, but I'm just glad I was actually able to finish a project like this.
There are some mistakes here and there or missing words, but when writing a guide I will only report bugs - even if they can't be fixed by @refolde.

I hope for volunteers for Forging once I have enough Gems for the Mikhail Gold.
Thanks to @refolde for forging me all the others weapons.
