A new misadventure awaits in this expansion of I’ll Defeat the Monster From the Comfort of My Bed! Power Nap Edition!

I’ll Defeat the Monster From the Comfort of My Bed!
In the original I’ll Defeat the Monster From the Comfort of My Bed! (IDM!) scenario, the curmudgeonly Norbert must find three items needed to entrap and defeat a monster – but only because Lieselotte, the one tasked with dispatching the monster, is too lazy to get out of bed and do it herself!

• Progression based on completing objectives and finding new things instead of merely gaining levels!
• Three dungeons you can tackle in any order!
• Fixed, visible, one-time-only encounters – no randomness or struggling to dodge enemies!
• A variety of skills and equipment to use against 26 different enemies! Each encounter is designed to be more substantial than those of a typical RPG.
• The IDM! scenario has been enhanced with balancing changes, quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and new music, art, and animations and is available in full as a free demo. After completing the demo, you can carry your save data over to the full game!

I’ll Defeat the Monster From the Comfort of My Bed! Power Nap Edition EX
A few months after the events of IDM!, Lieselotte receives a letter saying that she’s won a robe with powerful sleeping-related properties, but it’s a trap that transports the party to a strange place! With nothing else to go on, Norbert, Lieselotte, and Froschkönig brave the dungeons before them to find out who sent the letter and why.

• Five new dungeons, each longer and more elaborate than those in IDM!
• Over 50 new enemies with a wide variety of abilities and mechanics!
• Lieselotte joins for the entire adventure this time around!
• New abilities for each character, more than 20 new pieces of equipment, and a new optional party member!
• Approximately 7 hours of playtime between both the IDM! and EX scenarios!

Update 1.1 Released

I just released Update 1.1. It will likely be the last significant update to the game. As always, you can find it here.

Added two Randomizer Modes: Light and Full.
  • These modes are unlocked upon clearing the game once, after which they can be selected when starting a New Game. If you've cleared the game on an existing save file, you'll have to defeat the final boss again in order to unlock them.

  • Randomizer (Light) shuffles the locations of major rewards gained from defeating bosses and special battles, checkered tile clears in dungeons, and certain treasure chests. Shop inventories, common items (healing items, buff/debuff items, etc.), and items required for game progression are unaffected.

  • Randomizer (Full) randomizes the locations of normal battles, special battles, and bosses in addition to randomizing reward locations. Battles are shuffled according to scenario, so enemies from the IDM! scenario won't appear in EX's dungeons and vice versa.

  • Randomizer Mode save files can be identified by the presence of "(RL)" for Randomizer (Light) and "(RF)" for Randomizer (Full) next to the save's Scenario data.

Added the ability to choose between two battle background styles in the Options menu.
  • Swirl: The current battle background style.

  • Simple: Battle backgrounds will be snapshots of the field at the time a battle begins with minimal changes applied.

  • Increased Gigas Worm's STR.

  • Increased Minotaur's susceptibility to Petrification.

  • Fixed an issue with the text displayed when Minotaur's magical weakness changes.

  • Battles triggered in Waking Canyon while the sunlight is fading will no longer trigger sunlight conditions in battle.

  • Made Earth Elemental's transformation more likely to fail while in sunlight.

  • Made Hellion less likely to skip its turn.

  • Fixed an issue in which Possessed Doll wasn't losing its Endurance status under certain conditions.

  • Miscellaneous changes and fixes.

I like the game! It's cute and light-hearted, the gameplay is also pretty good. I just wished there were more scenes with Lieselotte because her dialogues were funny.

Also, I liked the names as I don't often see them in RPG Maker games. Are they Scandinavian?

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Maybe you saw these, but there a few conversations you can trigger with Lieselotte as you play, one for each of the key items, as well as a generic dialogue. Sometimes she'll be asleep when you enter her room, though. That aside, I plan to do more with these characters, so stay tuned.

The names are German, though there is some degree of overlap with Scandinavian names due to their shared roots.
uuuuhm for some reason the protagonist becomes invisible right after the intro sequence! o.O weird never happened to me before!

I must've done that when I first began taking screenshots for the guide and forgot to change it back...

I've uploaded a new version that fixes the issue. Thanks for letting me know.
