Here we are, I've been working on this game for one year, now. I think it's the right time to show something I made these last months! :D
5th ERA is a techno-fantasy RPG inspired by the classics of the 16bit age. Explore the orbital colony of Helgon in the far-off future, and find the truth behind the deadly Brightlings and the white portals!



A plot rife with intrigue, twists, and high adventure, told over 10 chapters. The Prologue and Chapter 1 are both available in the demo.



A cast of 9 characters you'll get to know and customize for battle. The demo focuses on two playable characters, Redian and Cecilia, the protagonists of the game's Chapter 1.



A simple, engaging turn-based combat system inspired by the classics of the JRPG genre. Overcome your enemies by mixing attacks, magic spells, skills and status effects.



2 Classes for each character, allowing for experimentation in party roles and team composition. Find the combination that suits your playstyle best!



Try out unique configurations for the characters' Weapons, and customize them with Drives.



A city you can explore at 4 different times of the day: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Travel by day for a more relaxed experience, or walk the streets at night if you feel like you're looking for trouble. Complete the Challenges and the Events on the Helgon Map to obtain new quests, items, and many more bonuses.



A demo of the first chapter is getting released in 2022! Follow this page to remain up to date on the development of 5th ERA. I'll try to keep this page always updated with the content I'm making for the game! I hope you'll enjoy the demo when it's ready.

Progress Report - September 2023

Progress Report
I should definitely post updates more often, huh? It's been a while since my last post. I'm working really hard lately, and I finally reached Chapter 5 (out of 10). I added tons of extra content in the first chapter of the game. Sadly, I won't be able to update the demo for now, because I still have to translate everything from italian to english. However, here's the stuff I made in the first half (more or less) of 2023.

- Completed Chapters 2, 3 and 4, for a total of 10-12 hours of content.
- Completed 3 new Optional Missions (one available from the start of the game).
- Optional locations to explore from the beginning, such as Goodwin Bridge, Obsidian's Black Market and Fight O'Clock Arena.
- Hel-Hound Hunts: Lingering Portals. These are some miniquests that you can take on while exploring the city of Helgon. The system is similar to FFXII's Hunts.
- Skill Preset System: now you can save your characters' skills in a preset that can be renamed. This is a very useful way to create different builds for the your characters without resetting their skills every time. You can save up to 3 presets for each character. I can't wait to see your custom builds and their names! You can also switch between characters' Skilltrees without exiting the menu. This speeds up the process of customizing your party.
- I simplified Weapons and Drives crafting system. In the first version of the demo, you had to use tons of materials to create new gear. Now, you'll just need the blueprint (for the Weapons) and 2 types of materials. There's also a really short quest that helps you understand how to craft new gear.
- Added a Codex in the game menu. You can now read info about the city's locations, characters and events. You can also read the documents you find while progressing in the game's story. The Codex also contains all the info about your current missions (main story and subquests).
- I downscaled the overworld map a little. The demo version was a bit chaotic and buggy.

Plans and Schedule
My plans are to continue with the main plot to its end and then to make all the remaining side content. I plan to complete at least Chapter 5 and 6 (and maybe 7?) by the end of this year, and I'll finish the rest of the main story by the end of summer 2024 (hopefully).

Wow! Such a gorgeous video game (and presentation). The visuals are spectacular, the gameplay in battles looks amazing and so nice with those battle animations and custom art. There's a lot of different characters and customization...there's so many good points on this game to talk about! Congratulations! :D

Is this same game you made in rpg maker 2003 over 10 years ago in italian? I saw it on youtube, sadly it wasn't ever translated to english.

Yes, it's technically a reboot of that game. I decided to leave the old one untranslated because it didn't age well. I'm still proud of what I made back then, but imho it's not worth playing right now.
The plot and characters will share some common points with the "source material" but this will be a complete different experience in terms of gameplay and story. :D

Hey there! I downloaded the demo and I'll let you know my thoughts in a future comment when I get around to playing! I'm building quite a log of games to play since I've been back but this has definitely caught my eye.

I'll resume the developing process after this summer. I wanted to rest a couple of months, after the release of the demo, but then IGMC happened and I had to work another full month on a game XD

Hey, I used to play a lot of games from this site and be very active in the community, but I´ve been disconnected these last couple years (yk life and stuff xd).

I remember in 2020 I discovered Theia and played the absolute crap out of it (I loved that game so much I tried 100% it which is something I never do in games). I loved everything about that game, the story, the characters, the music (sweet lord the music was SOO GOOD). I've been back at the site recently and when I stumbled upon this game and saw that it was from you; the Dev for Theia I got SOO HYPED.

Saw the screenshots and the game looks AMAZING, not sure if I´ll get around to play the demo (I usually don´t since if I really like it I always end up wanting more haha, so I´d rather wait for the whole thing).

Just wanted to let you know that, whenever the game releases I´ll try to be here 1st day to play.
