Blackmoon Prophecy Prelude is the third Blackmoon Prophecy game and prequel to the original Blackmoon Prophecy.

One year before the events of Blackmoon Prophecy, players assume the role of Vergil Augurelt from the remote Lindblum town of Port Alraune. When Branch dragoons come and attack, he and his friend Salia Fleuret defend their hometown. Vergil and Salia are not enough on their own, and the Lindblum Army arrives to save the day. Vergil and Salia learn that King Kain Silverson, King of Branch, has declared war on the world and seeks to gather the Crystals of the Element. Vergil and Salia are drafted into a growing alliance of kingdoms devoted to stopping Branch's tyrant king.

Blackmoon Prophecy Prelude combines standard JRPG gameplay (traversing through maps, opening treasure chests, fighting battles) with tactical RPG mechanics such as selecting where to travel to on a map, going on missions, recruiting new job-specific characters in towns, and more.

I aim for Blackmoon Prophecy Prelude to be much shorter than the other Blackmoon Prophecy games, but there should still be a decent amount of meat on the bone with this game!
