Announcement

Launch!

Three cheers for launch! After a year and a half of slow development, Lobby Loitering is now out and available to play!

This is my first ever major solo release, so I'm incredibly nervous and hope everything goes well. Please feel free to reach out if you encounter any issues or bugs, but above everything else, please be respectful, both to me, and to other players.

If you write a review or make a let's play, or if you plan on streaming it at some point, don't be afraid to ping me or reach out as well! I love watching people play and reading about their experiences with my games.

Thank you all so much for your patience, and I hope you have fun!

Countdown to Release - 5/13/23 (6 days to release)

I can’t believe it’s already here, Lobby Loitering is less than a week away!

I apologize for not posting any updates in a while. I had finals, spent a week packing and saying goodbye to my friends, I graduated on the 5th, and spent the 6th and 7th driving 22 hours from my college back to my hometown. Needless to say, I’ve been quite busy. Thankfully, the game has been in a releasable state for weeks now, and the only thing we’d be missing is a few more secrets and bonus details.

But now that I’m home and settled in, I can get everything extra ready for Friday’s release. I’ve got the nervous jitters, for some reason I’ve convinced myself that something is going to go wrong and the game’s gonna be broken and need an emergency re-release. So I’m going to do many more full playthroughs to make sure that doesn’t happen!

Welp, see you on Friday!

Countdown to Release - 4/22/23 (27 days to release)

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, so this is almost exclusively so you guys know I’m not dead. I graduate college in two weeks, which is crazy to think about, and because of that, I’ve been super busy, and I probably will be until then. In the meantime, I’m continuing to do what I’ve been doing-- decorating, set dressing, and making more NPCs. Thankfully, there’s two weeks between when I graduate and when the game releases, so I have free time for more polish.

The game also passed 50 wishlists on Steam recently, which I am very excited for. So I really hope there’s no major hidden bugs that need a day one patch

Countdown to Release - 4/1/23 (48 days to release)

Lord, school has been crazy the last few weeks. I’m still chipping away at the little improvements I’ve been meaning to make to the game, making sure common things like doors are all interacted with in the same way and such. My biggest accomplishment is as a result of a poll I did on my twitter, where the people voted 3-to-1 to give Marcel a chainsaw. The chainsaw event is now in the game and functions perfectly. Do with that information what you will…

Early this morning saw the release of the second trailer, which is a bit longer, but uses a familiar song to show you around the world. Is it an April Fools’ joke? I don’t know. But it is fun. I’m not exactly sure about the copyright laws around using the song, but YouTube doesn't seem to mind, and since the game is free, I think I’m safe.

Look out for Lobby Loitering coming May 19th!

Countdown to Release - 3/18/23 (62 days to release)

I will be honest. Because I spent most of my spring break (last week) working on the game, I spent most of this week doing what people do over spring break. So there’s not a whole lot in terms of updates this time around.

I did some minor bug busting, as well as some minor tile additions to existing maps. If anything, the biggest thing to come out of the last week was the 3-to-1 vote that Marcel should get a chainsaw. So, play Lobby Loitering and find out where and when he gets his hands on a chainsaw!

Nice. This is the first of hopefully many countdown updates as we gear up to the release of Lobby Loitering. I aim for at least one a week, on Saturdays. The game is fully playable and is still being polished, both with sprite updates, new sprites to fill out some of the rooms, and secret optional areas to make exploration even more fun.

The first trailer for the game is made and up on YouTube, with plans for a second trailer on the back burner. Most significantly, the Steam page for the game is up. My playtesters are still hard at work finding bugs, inconsistencies, and listing things they’d like to see. I hope you’re all excited as I am!
