I played through this a while ago, really fun! I didn't struggle with either the bosses or the enemies, for me, I think the balance is fine as it is, but I can understand how some other people might find it harder.

It's probably because it's more complex. I.e. Reading and understanding the skills is a bit more complex, and using certain skill combinations is a much easier way to win, so knowing to do that can be important, and using the items can help a lot too. As well as picking up the stat boosts? Or it was something like that?

Saying that the number of skills is pretty simple, and for me, I had no issues with these things.

I enjoyed the story, main character, mapping and gameplay. A nice short game! :) I think it's really good for a game jam entry.
Hiya boos405 and aww thanks so much for sharing your positive experiences with the game! ^_^ <3 Im happy you enjoyed the game! :D And yeah, you do get it indeed! :D The game can indeed be quite intimidating if the player haven't fully understood how each skills work on the overall. :D

Back! Figured it would be short but what a great experience! Very well done for a small time of development, with a fleshed out world and characters. I loved it. The battles were immersive and I really enjoyed the art. Custom battlers? I liked that the main character had something to fight for besides just getting back his memories.

Good job and again, you really created a world here that I would like to see more of. A+
Hello InfectionFiles and thanks so much for playing the game and I'm so happy you enjoyed with your experience! :D <3 And yes, this game's world is connected to the world of my other release Rave Heart ^_^ <3

<3 I'm glad to hear/read that and you have always been supportive of my games, so stay tuned for for comments and a review! And I'm sure I'll enjoy it if Esper Unleashed was a tiny taste of a bigger story. I truly enjoyed it and left me wanting more, which is a great sign for things to come.
That's very nice InfectionFiles <3 Thanks so much once again ^_^ :) And yes, I remember enjoying your horror/survival zombie games and loving 'em! <3 ^_^ So it's a huge honor to receive support from you as well :D I'm super excited to hear your thoughts soon! <3

Hi Starmage, yeah I actually left out some context. I saw a post on the rpgmakerweb forums where someone said they thought the battles were hard, so I suppose I was saying my input, that for me that they were fine, and I believe that would be the case for others as well, but I can understand a little why it can be harder for some people.

I think it's just about reading skills carefully and knowing what you can do and who to target, as it was challenging but easy enough for me. Item can also be important to manage and think about.

I have some ideas on what could fix that, but this is just a possible idea, I'm not saying to implement it, and for a game jam, it makes sense you did it with a single difficulty. My ideas would be a difficulty mode, with this being the "normal" mode and an "easier / easy" mode, without necessarily adding in a "hard" mode. Not sure if this is something you want to go back to anyway, but no harm in sharing an idea that came to my mind, in case it can still be of help for anything.

Thanks for the short but fun game! I enjoyed your short story a lot. :)
Hi boos405 and of course, I understood what you meant when you mentioned the difficulties! ^_^ :D And yes thanks so much for the suggestion! :D I suppose a difficulty option wouldn't hurt for some casual players! :D Again, glad you enjoyed the game! ^_^
Amazing work as always! I really hope he gets to meet his daughter again. I wonder what would happen if they come seek him, and i'm sure the government will. The game seems to be a spinoff of Astral Awakening. The potential of both games being in the same universe is staggering. What if the characters from both games meet up against a larger threat? WOw Wow Wow.
Thanks so much once again Dream ^_^ I am so happy to hear you enjoyed both games! :D <3 And yess, I do love the idea of that hahah, meeting against something larger. ;) But yes, both games are spinoffs of a larger full game Rave Heart which fully features most of the stuff you've seen from Astral Awakening. ^_^ <3 Thanks so much again. :D

I liked the part where Esper said "It's unleashing time" and Unleashed all over the enemies. It was grand.
Nice game. Seemed easy.
Would like to know what happened after the end :P
