A love letter to the classic Final Fantasies, the Tales of Phantasia and Rudra alike, the Breaths of Fire and the Secrets of Mana. Embark on a quest of friendship and heroism, of Magic and Bladework, and the right to be free.

My goal with Liliput Legend is to capture the essence of what made those SNES RPGs that helped define me as a gamer. The stories, the characters, the battles and the gimmicks are all sculpted in a way that should, I hope, fit in a SNES-era title. If after playing you feel a need to replay one of those amazing titles, then I will have done my job well. Happy gaming <3

Araina and Ilyana are mercenaries by trade, sharing stories of coin and battle over a table of warm ale when they became drawn in a fight that quickly consumes their every waking hour. Now, following the trial of a Witch with powers unexplainable to even the most studious mind, they must gather allies and learn the truth of that strange magic and the world itself.

---

Features:
- Sideview Battle system mimicking the strongest points of old school games, with a dynamic in-battle party swap system to ensure you always have the right answer to any monster.
- Real, fleshed out characters that grow as the story progresses.
- A Favor system to grow your relationships with party members, unlocking additional content with each such as Quests and special Events.
- Sidequests Ranging from the silly to the serious, all contained within a handy in-menu journal to keep track of each one.
- Over a dozen Minigames, from casino, to action, to just for fun!
- Hand drawn one-of-a-kind pixel art by the wizard himself; @UranArts!
- A beautifully crafted art style from the uber-talented @Megatiles2D and @finalbossblues.
- Fantastic sweeping musical themes from the stellar WinglessSeraph.
- And much more to come <3

Demo V1.5

After a ton of work, this new update will completely change up how the skills and abilities are obtained. Now, as opposed to simply acquiring them through level ups, the player has access to skill trees that leaves both new skills as well as skill upgrades entirely up to the player!

To go alongside this, I have adjusted the games levelling system to function closer to a standard rpg levelling flair, as the original level point system didnt really work for me anymore. The demo has also been shortened by one area. This is to create a better final scene to leave the player with.

Please enjoy!

Yessss!! It's finally here! :D
This looks really awesome! Quick question, just so i know, will there be a sorts of mechanic that changes the MC's personality depending on how much enemies they kill, or something of that sort? Or a sort of dialogue choice mechanic that makes you decide how the MC behaves? This might not be at all related to the game you are making but i just thought i'd ask, i'll play it anyways!

At this time, no, but that is a super interesting idea that I could look into, if not here then in another game. Pretty easy to work in to, simply add a +1 to a variable everytime an enemy dies (Might take more work to check if the MC herself kills the enemy) But thats a cool idea! <3

I had a key question at Milhurst Castle that has resolved itself.
So I edited my question to instead let you know that with 8 hours of play in, I enjoyed this game very much.
The ending seem to come all too soon but I guess that is why they are called Demo's.
Of course, I would like to see the story carried out to some sort of a more complete ending.
I did have a bit of a frustrating time getting through the Fogone woods, and entirely way too many things out there used poison.

Well now I'm super curious what your question initially was haha. Sorry about your frustrations, mind if I ask what specifically about it is bothering you? If it's the maze-like style, thats more or less intentional, if its the encounters or encounter rate, I recommend grabbing some "Holy Candle" items from any item shop to kill off the encounter rate while you explore, and if its anything else, I'd love to hear it so I can continue to improve!
Hmnn, I thought I was pretty clear about my question.
It was a "Key" question, turns out that I was trying to use a silver key in a gold lock. Ya well, I know, The simplest of things can just bewilder me at times, Ha

Seriously, the game was very entertaining, very playable with an enjoyable story.
I hope you continue with this project because I like the idea of building friendship points and I could see more being done with that.
The woods, I just needed to do some grinding and well, as far as poison, maybe it's because I am human but I never had a taste for it.

I subscribed in case you do go commercial with this, I assume that you already have more of the story and an ending already in mind.

Oh my god "key question" as in a question about keys, not a "Vital" question. You got me there XD

Yes I'm fully intending to complete this - Though I guess thats what every Dev says, but if it helps give you some confidence in it, the next area post-demo is almost entirely finished, and I've got a firmer grasp of the story as it continues. The friendship-bond thing absolutely will continue to grow as well, as I plan to do upwards of 4-5 events per party member, and around 3 sidequests specific to each. That number COULD change, but thats where its at at this juncture. I really, really appreciate all your wonderful words, and I hope the next part of the game continues to impress! <3
Enjoyed playing the first hour of this game! Have a YouTube video coming. Definitely can tell how much effort you've put into this game so far!
