This is a project that started on RPG Maker MV but after some big changes was migrated to MZ. It's based on the world of Blaze of Dragoons (my RPG Maker 2000 game, only released in Spanish almost two decades ago) and works as a distant sequel happening 300 years later.

Requiem tells the story of Ein, an amnesiac who wakes up in an empty prison. Realizing most of his memories are missing, he'll travel aimlessly before finding a canine companion and joining a guild later. By slowly remembering tiny bits of his past he'll eventually find answers to most of his questions but a growing sense of loss and despair could overtake him if he repeats similar mistakes once again. Events will quickly scale and many will have to take their stances as allies or enemies.

In the world of Requiem many races coexist but the Dragonblood, the strongest among all of them, are steadily expanding and taking control of the whole world, now aiming for Zion, the continent where the story takes place.

Features:
  • More than a dozen party members will join the adventure.

  • Sideview turn-based battle system where exploiting weaknesses and strenghts will be decisive.

  • Runes and passive skills (both unique and general) will let you enhance each character to your preferences (up to some extent).

  • Optional interactions will expand many characters' stories.

  • More features like minigames and multiple endings TBD.

About character customization

Good afternoon!
First of all, I want to say that I'll try to post blog entries once a week, even if there's not much to report.

This time I'll briefly talk about the character customization that the game's using (nothing's final so I might change, add or remove features in the future):

Equipment:
  • Weapon: each character can equip any weapon but they have preference in one of them. They'll receive a slight penalty when wielding different ones.

  • Armor: four armor types that can be equipped by any character. Depending on the type, they'll have one of the following strengths: high defense / medium defense and evasion / low defense and magic attack / low defense and magic resistance.

  • Accesory: they offer a variety of different bonuses.

  • Runes: three of them can be equipped. Each one will let the character use a magic spell (special runes may let you use many).

Skills: offensive or defensive abilities that can be used in battle.
  • Magic: skills that consume MP and depend on which runes you have equipped.

  • Techs: learned by leveling up or on special situations. They consume TP.

Traits: AKA passive skills. You equip them by using PP/Passive Points which increase each time you level up. They give permanent bonuses for battle.
  • Unique: learned by leveling up or on special situations.

  • Generic: learned by using papyri which can be bought or found.


Next week I'd like to talk a bit about leveling and stats.

Thanks! Yeah, it's currently under production. I plan to keep some kind of update schedule here even if it's just tiny bits as a kind of motivation to keep going.
This game looks so promising! I'm looking forward to it. I love all the maps btw :)
