Neo Tamagotchi!

Hello!
This is Nano-Buddy EX, a fairly recent 2022 game made by KazukiT126 with RpgMaker MZ for the One Map Challenge. So this is an event game, it's set on a single map and it takes aboput 12-15 minutes to be completed. Despite the shortness of the game it's still possible to save your progress, and you're advised to do that if you want to see both the endings of the game without having to replay it twice (there are a series of choices near the end that will determine if you will get the Good or Bad ending).

Oh nou, that's pretty sad!

In this game we play as the... player! You can name this character as you wish, but in other words this alter ego of the player is a gamer in the game. This person got a Nano-Buddy EX, a sort of tamagotchi. This is not a pet, but a little electronic girl named Avil, the only other character in this game. Unfortunately for her she is inside a glitchy world, and the help line seems to be useless, so could you, as the player, save her?

The game is, in few words, a very simple and short visual novel that includes some dialogue choices and a couple of quicktime events, nothing too difficult or complex. It's a very simple story and a little game designed to be completed in a single sitting, of course.

The biggest appeal of the game, aside for the original plot is probably the custom made graphics that make use of original assets. Avil is cute and possess different poses and expressions for her bust, and various animations for her charset, it has a sort of "super deformed/chibi" appearance (big head, big eyes) but I guess it's ok since she is supposed to be a videogame character.
I also liked a lot how the interface of the game tries to mimic the old pet-simulation games (with the indicators of hunger and happiness), even if this is NOT that kind of game (more like a little visual novel or interactive scenario).

Input that sequence! Now!! QUICK!!!! The time is running out...

Final Verdict
Nano-Buddy EX is a very short and very cute game that creates a little scenario and story with a simple setting. Since this was originally made for an event with the restriction of time and a single map (that make sense due to the "tamagotchi" nature of the game), I can say that the test is passed: KazukiT126 made an interesting game that also look original and enjoyable, even if it does not last for much, but it's ok. It's worth mentioning that I did not notice errors, typos or bugs of any kind, so it's a well made mini-adventure.
