Yes!

I have finally got back my motivation to get working on this :D
Let's hope i can make signifergent progress. Also can anyone else give feedback on my current demo?
I'm perfectly aware of how rubbish the first two chapters are(they will be revised)
but how about the current demo? is it a improvement? any faults? any advice? any bugs?
any feedback would be great :)

The state of things to come.

Well I'm in a pickle, Seems that I got wound into doing three projects simultaneously more or less.

Chapter 3 is 50 percent done with the release date moved back into christmas time if not sooner.
Also intending to remake chapter 1 and 2 and give it a complete overall.

I have been in the experiment stage of it's sequel on and off for the last month (I'm hiding the game profile because I'm scared of what people might think :(.. it's just too soon)

And I'm pretty much doing some graphic work on a short time travel puzzle based game and also writing on a pieace of paper on how I could event the bloody thing whilst at the same time making it completly different (gameplay wise) from Clock of Atonement which I only found out about since yesterday :O

...feels more like five games. But anyway's in real life I'll be doing history and film coursework whilst moving in with my girlfriend next summer. So there might be periods of time where I disapper for a week and come back with huge updates and then periods of time where I'll be just messing around on the fourms.

I'm just too laid back :)

Back on hiatus

Yep. My second year of college is coming up so I wouldnt be able to work on this for a while, plus I had a sudden drop of motivation during the summer.. was hoping to have this all done by the end of this month.
But oh well gives me a oppitunity to check out some rmn games and think things through, my birthday is next tuesday (hitting the 20 milestone) so a sense of celebration is in order. Hopfully this will get back in full swing in september, keep you posted :)

Prequels and sequels



Well many of you proberly wouldnt expect a sequel to be annouced before the first isnt even finished.
But oh well I have plenty of time on this. On a sidenote it's been three day's now and the game is still pending =/ if it get's denied for a bizzare reason, I wouldnt be too happy.

Back on track it is actually prequel/sequel set in the mid 90's (if you played the demo to completion then you'll proberly know how this will all work out)
And as it's a new game I thought I'll go for a different stlye regarding the sprites...



As I had to do the sprites frpm scracth I added a few cosmetic changes to them, e.g Sparrow having huge hair, meg having a more simpler desgin and leiko now has lightweight armour...
because she's a ninja now :).... yeah I'm going to be ambitous and do it completly customed graphical wise.

The reason why sparks is missing is the fact that Waking Dead is her story, her life and I figured that narrative wise
it would'nt make sense to send her on another save the world adventure when her story has allready been done and dusted. So this game will be focusing on jessica and leiko instead.
One final note this is not going to be a Rpg. I'm going for a different gerne all together.

Well you'll see when it eventually get's approved -o-

New demo

Well as the last demo was pretty much broken with that harsh sercurity room and the fact that It's still far off from completion I thought I'll give you the first quarter of the game, which in itself is 70% completed. At the moment I've only have bit's and pieces from there on done with the ending portion fully fleshed out. It's just the middle and later half that still needs doing e.g tilesets and eventing. The Dbs is still not done properly.

But here's a list of what you'll find in this demo.

-The computer room is fully done (giving you background info)
-Security room has been fixed
-Updated character sets
-You can move faster by holding down Enter
-Spark's and jessica's facesets have been finalised
-Leiko and sparrow's facesets are using stand in's for the time being
-Include's the "Escape from Chester" minigame however it's still in the prototype stage
and I'm still trying to firgure out how to show the truck being damaged by enemies.
Like how are you suppose to show a event attacking another event?
But other than that it's still funtional and you can't really lose :P
-Include's the bombing minigame... which has the same problems as the "Chase"
But has a 30second time limit instead.
-The demo end's shortly after the massive plot-twist. Which you proberly can guess
after my blatent self gossip on my past blog's.
-Two fetch mini-quest's in the jungle and mountain area.
-Also bear in mind The chester jungles and the mountaintop need's dressing up a little.
-And finally this should take you a hour to complete(My speed run 40min's)

This will proberly be finished around christmas (finger's cross). But I'm also working on something else
which I'm very excited about.. just have to wait for approval :(

can't believe im saying this..

But don't download the demo as there's a mistake in the security room in which a single contact with one of the floating balls(drones) would cause a automatic game over. I'll upload a newer/longer version in the coming days, so hopefully no frustration, sorry :(

Edit:Oh just went past the 10,000 views mark... 45 per cent of that slice is proberly from me :P

Slight spoiler's... but who cares really?

Well it's another blog. So that means some more pictures!

At the moment I'm concentrating on the closing stages of my game.
More so on the last playable section. Which happens to be a freefall minigame o.o

It bears similarity's to Bad company 2 in a way and for sense of scope I wanted
to make it more epic as I possibly can.

I've been drawing influences from Call of duty 4
as a way to break the confinment of the rpg gerne as a whole, by the way it is still a fare
few months off from completion.. I'm still eventing story point's and I need to map out like
100 tilesets in the next two months if I want this to come out on time. But I have almost
done the bridge section of my Airship. Voila!


Look's like something out of StarTrek

My next step however is to make a Gradius type of minigame.. but only problem is how
to make a shooting system out of events? Like you know laser beams and stuff?
If anyone has any answears then please share away.

I have like one sniping section
which lasts for around ten seconds but I might do a longer variation later on.

Only problem I have with this is simply that sprite dosn't have any awesome flying/windy hair
physics going on. So maybe back to the spriting board for that little one.

p.s. I've added a new page in the navigation revealing all the antagonists that you face at some Time
or another.. My bad guy count is 12 now :|

Battle animations and New game reveal

For the last two days I've been spriting like a possessed man. With only sweet jazz to keep me company.
I managed to create a brillent cutscene and some kickass action.


Each one has a unquie moveset with individual animations

Sure They cheap when it's PrintSceened but once in action it look's lush.
Which has brought a dilema upon me! Should I go back and redo the battlesystem
and turn it in some sort of RealTime action game.. Or stick with DBS which I've been spending
a considerble amount of time of drawing Battlers. It's a toughie.

On something somewhat related I'm also coming up with ideas and planning
for my next game called My Sweet Angel So far I only sprited the main Character
Who I'm calling at the moment Iris

The art direction and theme I'm going for is the SciFi/StreamPunk/Disopia genre.. I know it's a tried
tested fomula but I want it to be like a Philip K. Dick novel most notably drawing influences from
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and it's movie adaption BladeRunner
Devlopment wise I'm going to take my time to be honest with My Sweet Angel because
I am planning on making it absolutly customised to the max! But don't be suprised if I
decide to back down from that claim. Expect a gamepage later october.. and if anyone
wants to work with me on WakingDead or my next game then please don't hesitate to ask
I'm always encouraging teamwork.

Also one final note

Never knew making a world map was fun o.0
minimised sprites are fun to move with :)

Ok ok ok ok

Even though I'm not suppose to be working on this..
I just can't myself by putting this trailer together :D

Nothing too special but the backing track "The 11th hour" is the actual main theme.
If you don't like it, don't worry it only plays on four occasions.

One thing that I need to do is to make my dialogue consistant and not seem laughable.

At the moment I'm making a retro city tileset. Which is quite difficult as I first assumed but oh well
It look's fantastic so far. Now back to reality I have noticed that I don't get any comments, feedback or anything.. about the demo's,
Yes I do know they suck but still would be nice for advice.
