Join Malu, Gordon, and others on a mission to find the 77 magi hidden in the Magischolar's Guild. Sixteen adventurers have been commissioned to bring the magi, relics of the ancient sages, back to the great sage Aven. Malu's party must evade traps, monsters, and rival characters to make their way through the labyrinth.

Game features a specialization system, engage-on-touch DBS, and an emphasis on NPC and character interaction. This game is all about the dialogue, so be sure chat up those rivals! There are six different floors and of course, 77 different magi to hunt down. Game length is somewhere between 3 and 8 hours depending on how thorough you want to be.

This game takes a lot of inspiration from the SaGa series (Final Fantasy Legend). The dungeon crawl components were mostly inspired by Gauntlet and Liberty's dungeon crawl, Dungeon Crawl.

Some tips:
- Unless you're very observant and diligent, you will inevitably miss a few magi. Don't sweat it! You don't need to collect them all to beat the game.
- Don't bother grinding. Rank caps at 10 and you'll easily hit that playing through the game.
- If you're low on cash, there's no downside to selling magi you no longer need. ...and monsters hardly drop tons of cash, anyway.
- You can search pretty much everything!
- Save regularly. I know it seems dumb, but you can save wherever, so why not? Although losing most ambush-fights won't lose you the game, it'll cost you some magi.

Current status: Done. Download is being approved.

Finished!

Okay, final release submitted last night was just accepted, so now the game's done, only two years later than it should've taken. That does mean there's some nice stuff in this version. If you've played through the demo, it's worth replaying the first two levels for the most part. Here's why:
- Searching! Everything is searchable now
- Dialogue rewrite in some areas. It's a little more clear what's going on and the ending makes more sense now
- Rebalancing. You're no longer going to gain 80% of your levels in the first two areas, either.

If you'd rather not replay though, save files are mostly compatible. If you want to fix the abilities bug, flip switch 19 and everything should return to normalcy... maybe.

Otherwise, if this is your first play, enjoy yourself, and find those magi! Let me know if there are any bugs and I'll see what I can do. I intend to make a few changes in the next couple days anyway.

So I touch a frost trap, can't use Cure because healer's frozen, get into an encounter by accident and I get a game over because apparently my party can't thaw out:\

Also lol Touhou sound effects I love them :>

Bro (ignore if genderly inaccurate), that is seriously your fault. Game up and TELLS you to stay out of that hallway.
Looks like a great game! I really dig the Final Fantasies for the Gameboy and this appears to have taken some elements from it. Bummer thing is.. I can't play it. :( The fonts in the game are not just messed up, they are invisible. It tried replacing my fonts with the ones that come in the download package. Nope. Then I went to your site, downloaded and tried the fix that you have there. Still nope. What next?

Sorry about that, haven't heard of invisible RM2K fonts before... Have you tried this tool?

After installation, run the tool and navigate to the Guild Raider RPG_RT. Then hit Ubernehmen and it should at least make something visible... Otherwise, that's very strange. Let me know if there's further issues.
Using a secret lens crashes the game. Also, I can't seem to get out of the teleport trap section in the third area, even with the rotator key.

I'm not sure about the secret lens issue; I seem to remember there being some instability in certain areas, but I wouldn't be able to fix it without knowing where you were during the crash.

I've uploaded a fix for the L3 teleport dead end, though I'd rather now bump this game to the front page for a bigfix, so here it is:

Save file is compatible. When I get around to making the intro tutorial screen I'll set the main game download. Thanks for alerting me to the bug.

Oh, shit, I completely fucking forgot to mention in my review but I ran into that dead end too and had to cheat my way out of it!
I should be specific. I can see the text on the title screen, the spinning startup text as well as the character select screen. It is only after finishing selecting characters and beginning the actual game that the issue occurs. The text that is invisible is the two characters talking to each other (the red and green hair), as well as when you press esc and are in the menu screen where things usually are like; equip, status, save/load. The options are all still there, I can see the highlight bar to select items and selecting quit game works, just no text.

I am running RPG maker 2000 and WinXp home SP3.

I tried the two test buttons on the utility, still invisible. Then I tried Ubernehmen, still invisible. It is too early for Halloween, my game can't be haunted yet!

Hey bro, so I managed to collect what I thought was all of the magi. But at the end it said I only managed 76/77 I checked all of the switches in game and as far as I could tell it said I had em all.
Game-breaking bug, get!

????? 'RPG_RT.exe' ????? 00403AC ?????? 00000010 ????Reading?????

Used 'sixth sense' skill on the second floor (the green dungeon with all the decaying plants,) second room on the right (it has a patrolling ice spirit and goblin, also lots of freshly dug patches in the floor.) Game fatally crashed.

Assuming you mean this room, I can't replicate. I've seen this type of extremely unhelpful error before, but it's always been caused by me mislabeling traps. But in this case, there's nothing that relies on those switches in the room. Very frustrating, sorry about that. Thanks for reporting.
I'm actually getting it a lot with the sixth sense skill. I was able to repeat it multiple times on the second floor. After smashing the crystals and opening the door two screens south from the entrance (the one with a scripted party fight right before it), I entered the treasure room and used sixth sense.

Game crash.

Reloaded, entered the treasure room, wandered around it and sixth sense'd again.

Game crash.

New precaution: save before sixth sense-ing anything.
Game is very enjoyable and entertaining, if only too short.

Issues:
-Errors with respawns of moster right after battle with resulting endless loop
-Sixth sense issue
-Isn't *quake spell supposed to be multi-target spell?
-Mage sometimes doesn't get last ability levels, even with barons
-Can't imagine? where in 9 realms could be last magi of 2-nd level - is it from frozen party? Couse it doesnt seem to count to prism counter.
...
ummm
Also, make barons more frail, they are way too useful as a race.
Got the Sixth Sense crash in the area where the other team sets up ice traps. On the green floor (floor 2 or 3, I think it was).

Now that I know what caused it, I'll be sure not to use that item too often or at least without saving first.
Uh, yeah, so... You can fuck yourself over by taking Malu to meet the other party in a different room than the switch room in the sandy floor where you're forced to team up. I met up with the group in the big room with the locked door and because the other group (the idiots) pulled the switch it locked me in that room with no way to get out - each direction was met with a dead end.

You may want to look at that. >.<;
Thanks for your feedback! I really need to fix up those problem spots and probably overhaul the magic system to get this thing shining.

It's been a while since I've played through -- did you try pausing the game to bring up the switch-to-other-party menu during the splitup?
Thank you for making this game! I really enjoyed it.
All characters were unique, colorful, alive, and lovely. Every characters had their unique personality that dissolved well within their party groups I loved all of the characters especially Rathymer.
