Finished!

Okay, final release submitted last night was just accepted, so now the game's done, only two years later than it should've taken. That does mean there's some nice stuff in this version. If you've played through the demo, it's worth replaying the first two levels for the most part. Here's why:
- Searching! Everything is searchable now
- Dialogue rewrite in some areas. It's a little more clear what's going on and the ending makes more sense now
- Rebalancing. You're no longer going to gain 80% of your levels in the first two areas, either.

If you'd rather not replay though, save files are mostly compatible. If you want to fix the abilities bug, flip switch 19 and everything should return to normalcy... maybe.

Otherwise, if this is your first play, enjoy yourself, and find those magi! Let me know if there are any bugs and I'll see what I can do. I intend to make a few changes in the next couple days anyway.

OKAY! When I flipped switch 19, the game IMMEDIATELY AND PERMANENTLY FROZE.
Oh for god's sake, how did I screw up such a simple event. Go to the common events page and check for something called Axe Skill Fix, it's like event 9/10 somewhere around there. After it does the four variable things, just make it so that it shuts switch 19 off. I can't fix it myself until I get home.

Also, the "maybe" is because it won't restore your skills, just prevent more damage.

EDIT: Redownload, I fixed it from a flash drive.

I have a question about

Homasa, Argus, Tobit, and Azalea when they become playable


Are they SUPPOSED TO HAVE NO EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR ABLITIES, or is that a bug?

That's because you're using a save file where they didn't originally exist. RM2K doesn't check hero's initial equipment when they're added, only on the start of the game. So the only way to fix that would be to 1) new game, or 2) cheat and give them stuff.

Though you should be fine even if those guys are useless. There aren't any more additional party members and you're overleveled because of the changes in XP curve made over the last year.

I think maybe I should just start over from the beginning in the interest of fairness.

Once I got Switch 19 to the point where it didn't break my game, I didn't notice any changes and I still had a 'Blank' skill on Gordon's skill list. Between that and not getting to see Homasa, Gordon, Tobit, and Azalea's gear and skillsets, I'm thinking it would be better just to restart.

I enjoy the game enough to be willing to replay it from the beginning...barely.
Switch 19 doesn't correct skills. It wouldn't be deterministically possible. The old demo was storing axe skill and ability level in the same place. There's no way to retroactively determine whether the axe level was increased by ability or skill, so all 19 does is set ability level to axe skill. It normalizes future level ups.
Okay, few changes to v1.3:

- Searching messages have been changed around
- The music that was supposed to be in L5 is now actually there
- Miles' party now moves correctly on L2
- Some naming confusion with Polly/Vanessa resolved in L4
- L5 initial fight slightly rebalanced
- The ending cutscene is now much more elaborate and probably more satisfying

All save files should carry with no switch or equipment nonsense.

So if I redownload your game a 4th time and copy paste my SECOND save game, everything should work fine?

You do realize I've downloaded your games 4 x as much as I will download any given 100 games uploaded to RMN? : P
