IMPORTANT NOTE: This game uses heavily a customized RGSS system and is still in development, so any current release may contain game-crashing bugs.

Features

100% Custom Interface: Players command the party using a targetting dial that identifies important features of a room and the ways to interact with them.

Randomly-generated Game World - The layout of areas and the locations of key items are determined randomly at the beginning of each new game.

Customizable Characters: Spend experience points to improve your character using an intuitive, user-directed training interface.

Original Graphics: Original characters, creatures, items and splash art.

A Chilling Sci-fi Horror Setting - A setting and storyline influenced by sources as diverse as System Shock 2, Freelancer, Dead Space, John Carpenter's The Thing, and Dante's Inferno.

Story

According to one theory, Earth's moon was formed by collision with another planetoid early in our solar system's history. This theoretical planetoid is known as Theia, the mother of Selene (the moon) in early Hellene mythology.

The theory states that Theia would have been completely consumed in the collision, its mass integrated with Earth's.

Why, then, in the outer reaches of the Oort cloud, where astronomers expect to find only comets and isolated bodies of ice, has a planet been found whose composition exactly compliments planet Theia of the Giant Impact theory? Almost a light-year away from the Sun, it hangs on by a mere slip of a gravitational tether, and would certainly have been long lost to the system were its orbit not almost immeasurably slow.

Wherever it came from, it was the last beacon of hope for White Horse Enterprises, a sluggish corporation whose dewy-eyed business ethics made it uncompetitive in the corrupt, overpopulated world of 2072. They established a mining facility on Planet Theia as a showcase for their progressive, philanthropic business practices. In the words of White Horse's CEO: "This venture will go forward, and it will establish a precedent that only an act of God can supersede."

The venture seemed doomed for bankruptcy until a survey drone uncovered what appeared to be an alien artifact, deep under the planet's surface. Desperately needing to capitalize on the discovery, the admins have planned an investor's gala in the P. Lowell Executive Chalet, a small luxury resort with a stunning view of the mining installation, where the artifact will be unveiled to the public.

... And now, for some reason, you've just woken up on the floor of your sleep quarters. You have no recollection of the last week, and your co-workers have turned into monsters. Your only guidance is a droning automated announcement system and the clues your colleagues left behind before losing their minds.

Welcome to Planet Theia. It's always dark out.

My god we're going back for this one

Two days ago I finally started using Rogaine, even though I'm about 15 years too late for it to make a difference!

Well we all know how it goes, I still want to shake the usual farts out of the bedsheets and say that sOmEdAy ThIs PrOjEcT wIlL bE dOnE i PrOmIsE but it looks to be something that I'll have to be toying with on and off for years and maybe finish it when I'm 50. Because I was visited by that terrible spectre of Another Idea For A Game That Seems Like It Will Be Less Work And More Likely To Pay Off Than The Current Idea (AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI). I've actually been working on the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI for the last year. I don't want to be an idiot who strings along projects for years and then never finishes anything because of yet another AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI, with the old tune of i'Ll GeT bAcK tO tHiS pRoJeCt OnCe ThE nEw OtHeR iDeA iS dOnE. Every time I do this I lose more and more confidence in myself. But the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI can be very seductive.

The latest AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI is a furry-themed building management sim made in Game Maker, and the building that you're managing is a public bathroom. You place facilities like toilets and sinks and make money by selling different types of septic effluent. It leans heavily on the vulgar subject matter, because furries like that sort of thing. But it's not really an RPG so I don't want to make a project page here. Does anyone know of another website where I might make a project page for that sort of game?

@kumada, you don't even wanna know the things I tried for that code.
Hoo~boy, that code.... that was FUN! I'm just grateful that the code only randomises itself when you start a new game. I've written it down and I plan on keeping the same save game from now on just because of THAT code :P

Close! I tried every method of writing "SASHA" in numbers, including upside-down calculator style. Plus I tried every number in the vlog logs, plus searching for hidden codes and other stuff.

I sense this puzzle is a bit obscure.
The start of the puzzle is obscure, the vlog hints about Parasitic Synthesis don't *really* give the impression that you can read people's thoughts with it, but the rest is basically just trial and error. Once you use the skill, you then have to basically guess and deduce the code from the hints given, so it's not obscure.. just time consuming. I do think the fact that you need PS could be made a little bit more obvious :)

*edit for typos*
I hate the cryo puzzle. I hate it so much. My hate of it is only matched by its hate for me.

edit: also, I'm stuck again. What do I do after I've entered the correct code into the computer terminal? I tried waiting around for a bunch of turns, but nothing happened.

There is a lot of hate for the cryo puzzle it seems.
But tell me, do you hate the number-puzzle aspect of it, or because it was hard to figure out how to get to the number puzzle aspect of it?

You must go back to the cryo suite and use the panel.
For some reason, that panel was extremely hard to select. Going up from Elumir's cryopod didn't do it. I had to go all the way around through all of my team-members before the option came up.

BUG: Got Elumir, and immediately started using him to do upgrades. Gave him my un-upgraded rocket launcher, plus a micrometer and soldering laser. I had him upgrade the rocket launcher, but for some reason my pool of available nanites (1,400) displayed as being at only 80 nanites. Later, I tried to upgrade my assault rifle, and the first upgrade failed, taking my new 80 nanite pool down to zero. I was still able to try again to upgrade the assault rifle at zero, though, so I did that and it worked on the second try. Next, I went to the replicator to buy items to see if my party's nanites had been somehow reset, but found that this was not the case. Instead, Elumir had a pool of zero nanites, and my other party members had 1,400.

BUG: On the 'use' command for the resuscitator, it says "charge the laser pistol with a power cell."

BUG: 'Appeal' task does nothing (no dialog, no mechanical effect,) when used on columbine.

BUG: Columbine's first action in battle was to straight-up murder Cambridge. Unfortunately, this did not cause Cambridge to die immediately, or to become unable to act. I had undead-cambridge shoot columbine several times, killing her. Columbine delivered her "augh, damn you" bit of dialog, and then I got the error "failed to find 5". This was followed by a NoMethodError, undefined method 'suffix' for nil:Nil:Class

BUG: If you heal up Elumir's mind points to 20 before leaving the cryo chamber, the automatic event where he regains 15 MP does not actually give him any MP. I accomplished this by using a meal on him as soon as he came out of cryo.

edit: aaaaaaaand I didn't save on the way to the replicator. Crap.

Gee, I finally found what was buggering up both the Appeal task and the failed to find 5 problem - the Common Event that runs the Appealing scene was set to Parallel process instead of Autorun, so it probably tried to run underneath Columbine dying. Which blows up the game.

I'll get back into this game in a week or so and then beat down these bugs :] Thpaskn you. Meantime just don't use the Appeal option.

This game deserves a featured title at some point, of all the featured games I have played this is the more clean and well made game then them all(in my opinion)

Takes me back to what I love about horror games done right.

Thank you. :) Although it's far from being complete/crash-proof in its current state. I wouldn't want it featured while it still dumps people to Windows.

Holy crap.

I just now started Part 1 The Cradle, and while it may in part be that I've been in a real Alien/Dead Space/Horror Disguised As Science Fiction mood for the past few days, I've still got to say that this is ALREADY one of the most impressive things I've ever seen done in RPG Maker, technically speaking AND artistically speaking.

Of course, Gib, you probably hear that all the time. And I'm right in your wheelhouse...or the inverse (I forget how that idiom goes), audience wise.

Thank you snippy. :) Sorry to see you got a crashbug. :( But I see you are still using an older version. I believe that bug is fixed in the latest one. You can import your svae.

I thought 0.4.1.2 WAS the latest, but now it's all the way up to 1.1.1.1? Downloading new version now. Is the game complete in this version?

God Damn You, Gibmaker, I am seriously about to play this instead of doing something productive. LIKE A REAL VIDEOGAME.

Edit:
Do you think you could share some of the resources you used to make this? I mean more the ones that are SS2 rips, not the original ones. I mean after all if not for people sharing the KNight-BLade tilesets and objects it'd have been a lot tougher for you to make this. Pay it forward and ting.

On trying to import my save to new version, got the following error:

"Unable to find file Graphics/Battlers/4.png" immediately after selecting continue.

Could probably fix this myself (albeit sloppily) if resources were not encrypted.

Did I do something wrong? Is the save import process more complexicated than I thought?

Edit:
Wow I am really dumb. I rolled up a new character and played through the intro without realizing that the same thing would happen again when I went to save my game. Grrrrrr........

Oh. gpmdsagdsbad. You can simply create a Graphics/Battlers folder and put any image in it and call it 4.png. Then once you load your game re-save it and it will work then.

There is not much left of SS2 rips except for some of the guns and ammo! Have them.

Where are some of the other graphics from? The soldering laser looks familiar, but not necessarily from SS2.

Still playing this and loving it, btw. I even made my girlfriend play it. I have noticed a few more bugs, but nothing fatal.
