IMPORTANT NOTE: This game uses heavily a customized RGSS system and is still in development, so any current release may contain game-crashing bugs.

Features

100% Custom Interface: Players command the party using a targetting dial that identifies important features of a room and the ways to interact with them.

Randomly-generated Game World - The layout of areas and the locations of key items are determined randomly at the beginning of each new game.

Customizable Characters: Spend experience points to improve your character using an intuitive, user-directed training interface.

Original Graphics: Original characters, creatures, items and splash art.

A Chilling Sci-fi Horror Setting - A setting and storyline influenced by sources as diverse as System Shock 2, Freelancer, Dead Space, John Carpenter's The Thing, and Dante's Inferno.

Story

According to one theory, Earth's moon was formed by collision with another planetoid early in our solar system's history. This theoretical planetoid is known as Theia, the mother of Selene (the moon) in early Hellene mythology.

The theory states that Theia would have been completely consumed in the collision, its mass integrated with Earth's.

Why, then, in the outer reaches of the Oort cloud, where astronomers expect to find only comets and isolated bodies of ice, has a planet been found whose composition exactly compliments planet Theia of the Giant Impact theory? Almost a light-year away from the Sun, it hangs on by a mere slip of a gravitational tether, and would certainly have been long lost to the system were its orbit not almost immeasurably slow.

Wherever it came from, it was the last beacon of hope for White Horse Enterprises, a sluggish corporation whose dewy-eyed business ethics made it uncompetitive in the corrupt, overpopulated world of 2072. They established a mining facility on Planet Theia as a showcase for their progressive, philanthropic business practices. In the words of White Horse's CEO: "This venture will go forward, and it will establish a precedent that only an act of God can supersede."

The venture seemed doomed for bankruptcy until a survey drone uncovered what appeared to be an alien artifact, deep under the planet's surface. Desperately needing to capitalize on the discovery, the admins have planned an investor's gala in the P. Lowell Executive Chalet, a small luxury resort with a stunning view of the mining installation, where the artifact will be unveiled to the public.

... And now, for some reason, you've just woken up on the floor of your sleep quarters. You have no recollection of the last week, and your co-workers have turned into monsters. Your only guidance is a droning automated announcement system and the clues your colleagues left behind before losing their minds.

Welcome to Planet Theia. It's always dark out.

My god we're going back for this one

Two days ago I finally started using Rogaine, even though I'm about 15 years too late for it to make a difference!

Well we all know how it goes, I still want to shake the usual farts out of the bedsheets and say that sOmEdAy ThIs PrOjEcT wIlL bE dOnE i PrOmIsE but it looks to be something that I'll have to be toying with on and off for years and maybe finish it when I'm 50. Because I was visited by that terrible spectre of Another Idea For A Game That Seems Like It Will Be Less Work And More Likely To Pay Off Than The Current Idea (AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI). I've actually been working on the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI for the last year. I don't want to be an idiot who strings along projects for years and then never finishes anything because of yet another AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI, with the old tune of i'Ll GeT bAcK tO tHiS pRoJeCt OnCe ThE nEw OtHeR iDeA iS dOnE. Every time I do this I lose more and more confidence in myself. But the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI can be very seductive.

The latest AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI is a furry-themed building management sim made in Game Maker, and the building that you're managing is a public bathroom. You place facilities like toilets and sinks and make money by selling different types of septic effluent. It leans heavily on the vulgar subject matter, because furries like that sort of thing. But it's not really an RPG so I don't want to make a project page here. Does anyone know of another website where I might make a project page for that sort of game?

AN ERROR? What happened.
Is it the washroom fight bug? That should be freshly fixed.

If it's not the washroom fight bug, what's your error text?

Also, Gib, that tabletop thing I'm writing is not a philosophical sci-fi horror, but it does heavily feature zone-based movement and action points, so there's some Set Discrepancy influence in there for sure. Once I get it out of its very rough alpha, I'd be happy to send you a copy.

I was realllllly high when I made that last post. Lemme be a bit more specific:

Upon (successfully?) installing and then trying to start the game, I got the following error message, which I suspect has nothing to do with the font in question (I tried removing the font in question from my computer and then restoring it and the error message was fully unchanged which is odd):

Script 'Game_Temp' line 0: Errno::EACCES occured.

Permission denied - C:/Windows/Fonts/AdventureSubtitles.ttf

The first thing I'm going to try to check is...whether or not I even have RPG Maker XP installed. If it turns out I actually do, then maybe you know what's going wrong from the error message.

Max I got that same problem when I started. I went into Gibmaker's font folder and installed it via right clicking and that made it work for me.

Yeah. That statement.
Same error and same solution here.

!
I cannot recreate this bug! You mean the reset button simply does nothing?
Exactly that.

I allocated one mental, one strength, and two computers. I then selected reset, and it wouldn't do anything. I mashed enter a bunch of times just in case, and still nothing.

I'll fiddle with this tomorrow and see if I can get it to recreate.
The reset button worked for me. That's interesting.

OH. I FIGURED IT OUT.
If you go "Previous Screen" from the attributes screen, it saves what your choices were, and the Reset button will start resetting them to that instead of zero.
HOW INTERESTING
Not sure what happened here, but I entered the save room in the garden and found a flak shell schematic. I picked it up and dropped it, and found that there was a log with a necessary passcode underneath it. The log had not been displaying on the map. The schematic was one I had already learned.

Edit: For some reason, after studying the flak shell schematic, all other schematics that have appeared in the garden have also been flak shell schematics. I'll keep testing and see if this is some kind of global issue.

2nd edit: Yeah, there are definitely stacks of like six flak shell schematics appearing in the garden. This seems to be aberrant.

3rd edit: Bug duplicated, sorta. Went to the admin module, found a single anti-personnel bullet schematic. Picked it up and read it. In the next room, stacks of three anti-personnel bullet schematics started appearing. In the room after that, stacks of six.

4th edit: When this happens, whatever it is, all schematics in the effected area become uberstacks of the same type as the first schematic read.
Dear kumada, am I missing out on flak shells and other things by continuing from chapter 3 rather than starting a new game again? Or have i just not got to it yet :<
(Never mind, not actually a) BUG: Micrometer not consumed when used to upgrade the handgun.
BUG: Cambridge has aptitude 3. She fires her handgun in combat. The handgun misses, but then the you-missed-but-you-still-hit thing triggers. This uses her second action.

NewBlack, I have no idea if doing a chap 3 start is causing you to miss stuff. Check one of the upgrade computers. See if you have any design talents available.
BUG: I'm upgrading a handgun for the second time. I have the soldering laser and one silicon chip. The silicon chip is consumed trying to upgrade, but then the upgrade fails. Okay, I hit retry. It retries, and I succeed, despite the fact that I am now using imaginary silicon chips to upgrade my gun with.

edit: also, you say things like 'increase damage by 4' and 'increase damage by 8'. Does the second one mean that it's being increased by an additional four, or an additional eight?

Yeah, schematics are Buggy Beyond Belief (BBB) (B^3) right now. :(

The upgrading things you report are not actually bugs. It's intentional that tools (micrometer) are not consumed in tasks. And also, the silicon chip is only actually consumed when the upgrade is successful. And the increase damage by 8 means an additional 4.

@ kumada, for the 1.1 update I changed upgrade schematics into regular items, as opposed to the special "desks" with the schematics on them. HOWEVER, THIS CHANGE IS NOT RETROACTIVE. Nevertheless, the flak shell schematic was in the garden in Rec. However there will be extra copies on later chapters if you missed it.

Okay, that's a little confusing. Maybe this is just me, but I think it might be worth saying "increase damage by 4" again.
