Story

According to one theory, Earth's moon was formed by collision with another planetoid early in our solar system's history. This theoretical planetoid is known as Theia, the mother of Selene (the moon) in early Hellene mythology.

The theory states that Theia would have been completely consumed in the collision, its mass integrated with Earth's.

Why, then, in the outer reaches of the Oort cloud, where astronomers expect to find only comets and isolated bodies of ice, has a planet been found whose composition exactly compliments planet Theia of the Giant Impact theory? Almost a light-year away from the Sun, it hangs on by a mere slip of a gravitational tether, and would certainly have been long lost to the system were its orbit not almost immeasurably slow.

Wherever it came from, it was the last beacon of hope for White Horse Enterprises, a sluggish corporation whose dewy-eyed business ethics made it uncompetitive in the corrupt, overpopulated world of 2072. They established a mining facility on Planet Theia as a showcase for their progressive, philanthropic business practices. In the words of White Horse's CEO: "This venture will go forward, and it will establish a precedent that only an act of God can supersede."

The venture seemed doomed for bankruptcy until a survey drone uncovered what appeared to be an alien artifact, deep under the planet's surface. Desperately needing to capitalize on the discovery, the admins have planned an investor's gala in the P. Lowell Executive Chalet, a small luxury resort with a stunning view of the mining installation, where the artifact will be unveiled to the public.

... And now, for some reason, you've just woken up on the floor of your sleep quarters. You have no recollection of the last week, and your co-workers have turned into monsters. Your only guidance is a droning automated announcement system and the clues your colleagues left behind before losing their minds.

My god we're going back for this one

Two days ago I finally started using Rogaine, even though I'm about 15 years too late for it to make a difference!

Well we all know how it goes, I still want to shake the usual farts out of the bedsheets and say that sOmEdAy ThIs PrOjEcT wIlL bE dOnE i PrOmIsE but it looks to be something that I'll have to be toying with on and off for years and maybe finish it when I'm 50. Because I was visited by that terrible spectre of Another Idea For A Game That Seems Like It Will Be Less Work And More Likely To Pay Off Than The Current Idea (AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI). I've actually been working on the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI for the last year. I don't want to be an idiot who strings along projects for years and then never finishes anything because of yet another AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI, with the old tune of i'Ll GeT bAcK tO tHiS pRoJeCt OnCe ThE nEw OtHeR iDeA iS dOnE. Every time I do this I lose more and more confidence in myself. But the AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI can be very seductive.

The latest AIFAGTSLIWBLWAMLTPOTTCI is a furry-themed building management sim made in Game Maker, and the building that you're managing is a public bathroom. You place facilities like toilets and sinks and make money by selling different types of septic effluent. It leans heavily on the vulgar subject matter, because furries like that sort of thing. But it's not really an RPG so I don't want to make a project page here. Does anyone know of another website where I might make a project page for that sort of game?

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I was hoping there was some kind of a way to bring her to her senses, but I guess it's too late for that.

So a couple of days ago, I decided to dismantle a laser turret to see what few supplies it carried, and since I likely wouldn't be returning to that area. When I destroyed it with the Apollo H4 Laser, a message popped up that said "uh oh", but it didn't crash the game, nor did it seem to truly effect anything negatively, so I have no idea what that was about.

Soon after I got into the Hydroponics Module, I came across a save room with 2 Level 1 Critical Crates. I hacked them both, but neither of them had anything! I came across another one a bit later on, and it was empty, too.

Oh, and I don't know if you knew about this already, but just in case, the description for the item Requisition Chips says something like, "This description is missing some info, man.".

@longshot: Thank you for reporting this. It was a quick fix but unfortunately there's no way past point without it crashing until you get the new version which I will upload ASAP. (well actually there is, you have to go encounter a turret before meeting the mech which starts the same help dialog, except it won't crash if there's a turret preset)

@Professorr_Buglean: These errors are obviously the result of the new item distribution system. :C I WILL TRY TO FIX
Speaking of item distribution system errors, I came across a replicator today that had no items for sale, and the game crashed with the following 3 messages:
"ph no"

"# < Game_Element: 0xa1ebd48 @damaged=false, @in_position=0, @data= {}, @hpdisplay=0, @in_inventory=false, @hpchange=0, @mirror=nil, @id=103, @quantity=1>",

"Script 'Z - Window_Main_Replicator' line 112: TypeError occurred.
cannot convert nil into String."

May I inquire, what chapter/area of the game did this happen? Since item #103 shouldn't be added to replicators until chapter 6, and the game only exists up to chapter 5 so far. :|
It was the second replicator in the new game world I had started to test various things, the one in the Dormitory Annex. Before that, I played through one world all through to the end of Chapter 5 without encountering any replicators like that.

Well, I encountered two more crash bugs, one while generating a new world:

Script 'Z - Zap_Presets (init hydro)' line 506: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method `tag= ' for nil: NilClass

I think someone already mentioned the crash bug that occassionally pops up while searching dead creatures, but I'm not sure if anyone's said anything about security crates doing that. Because I encountered one of those, too. Its message was:

Script 'Z - Window_Inventory' line 80: TypeError occurred.
cannot convert nil into String

The latest version was all ready uploading when I saw this message so the first bug you mentioned isn't fixed in the new version, but it will be fixed in the next version (and it's intermittent anyway so restarting will most likely not result in this). And the second bug is another symptom of the item #103 error, so it will also be fixed in the current version.

(In case you care,
item 103 is Power Armor which I had not defined yet, and apparently being totally undefined lets an item slip through the method that skims the item library based on the chapter, so the crash was caused by the game attempting to give you an item without any name or sprite data.
)

I appreciate your diligence chopping away at this project in spite of crashes. :)

No problem! I'm honored to be able to help improve such an excellent game a little bit, even if it's just reporting errors. :) I've yet to try everything so far, so I'll let you know if I come across anything else.

Oh no. I downloaded the new version, but when I try to extract it, the program always freezes on "Audio\SE\windgust_strong.wav". :|

Oh, what. D: I have never encountered that before. I tried re-compressing the project without an encrypted archive and that seems to allow it to be installed properly. Download is fixed.
Hey, I ran into the same "ph no" error as well, it has happened before but since I restarted that peticular dispenser was fixed. I'll post my save, the new dispenser that has that crash bug is the first one in the rec area.

You will just go north and reach a large open room (four parts) and it's in the top left, about 4 screens from the entrance area where the save will start you. (Save 5 if it submits all my saves)

The only item that shows up is 5 armor piercing bullets and then the error pops.

*Ok, I'm very sorry but I don't know how to post an attachment to my post. But I'll keep the save file separate for when you answer to this.

Love the game so far (Just got to chap 2) and love the difficulty of the game!
So I managed to extract the new version. But now, every time I try to generate a new world, I get the following crashbug message:

Thanks much, man! Alright, so, the good news is that it works. The bad news is that apparrently, broken doors are bugged. In the Dorm Annex, every time I try to breach the kitchen with a Plastic Explosive, I get this crashbug message:

NoMethodError occurred while running script.
undefined method `read' for #<Game_Person:0x9d40f18>

I haven't tried the other broken doors yet.

Argghg, I spent so long testing those things and suddenly they don't work again. >:( It makes me want to explode. But anyway, you can initiate a breach from either the explosive or the barrier, perhaps try the other one of whatever you tried the first time?
Well.

After losing internet for several days, I am able to report yet another bug pertaining to broken doors. I managed to breach them a couple of times by using the Plastic Explosive from the inventory rather than directly on the door, and it works sometimes. But at times, yet another error message pops up:

Script 'Z - Task_Executor 2' line 32: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method `screen_x' for nil:NilClass

Sometimes it appears, and sometimes it doesn't and I can get through. No idea what effects this.
