Happy 1000 Downloads, DF: Venaitura!

So after three years of being hosted on this site, Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura has at long last acquired 1000~ downloads! So get your party hats on, because celebrations are in order!!!

I remember when I first started development on this game... it initially started out as a sort of cross-over between Dragon Fantasy and Hero's Realm! The main villain was going to be Mephistocles, and he'd be teaming up with Dragon Fantasy's Celes in order to take down our team of heroes.

Yeah... see how that turned out? Ha ha. I scrapped that idea, and decided to make this a new entry into the DF series. Thus I ended up with what we have here.

Looks can be deceiving

Oi. Well, I don't think I mentioned this at all when I released the game during RS! 8, so I thought now'd be a pretty good time to bring up this little notice while I'm (currently) not doing anything.

Anywhoo...

If you're not really a fan of those slow-paced, grind-fest NES games (such as the first two DF games =P) then do not fear! Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura may have the APPEARANCE of an NES game, but it is far from it in near all other areas.

DF:V is a fast-paced, light-hearted adventure though the gargantuan fortress "Venaitura." Unless you avoid every single enemy, there should be no need to grind for Gold (as there are no EXP) or anything else. The only time you might have to think about it is if you're trying to defeat the optional bosses and are having difficulty.

So yeah. It looks like an NES-esque game, but it's not. I just had to get that out there incase there were people afraid to try it in fear of it being another slow, cliche adventure that'd take about 30 hours.

Thanks for the read!

Download!

Woot! Thanks to Kentona (who graciously uploaded the game on to the site for me) we now have a download available! A big round of applause to Kentona for achieving the near impossible: uploading that damn game on to this site! I didn't think it'd ever be done.

Enjoy. =)

Not even with Firefox?

I thought that the connection problems may have been the fault of the browser I was using (IE), but...looks like that is not the case. I've gone and upgraded (hm?) to Firefox, and yet I continue to become interrupted each and every time I make an attempt at uploading the game! Gah. I'm starting to get sick of this, but I want it to get up there...! If not, then I might have to wait until December (when I go home). That...or if my room mate and myself pitch in ($20 a month) to get Ultra high-speed internet (because we're just becoming real tired of the one we have now).

Suggestions and Reccomendations

Inspired by Kentona's new little thing he has on the go wherein he promotes other games through one of his own project's "Pages" tabs, I have also followed suite and made one of my own. I have reccomended three games, but there are definitly a lot more out there. However, if more people get in to this then we can definitly have a massive network of games all linked to one and other through their pages!

NOTE:
If you are looking for this projects download link, please check in one of my previous Blog entries. I have explained there why I am unable to upload the game on to the site.

Thanks you.
