Introduction

Kidnapped is a short Horror puzzle game created with RPG Maker XP.
It is not a normal RPG Maker game though. In Kidnapped, a crazy man kidnaps one of the 4 kids that were playing in the woods. After that the other 3 try to find him in a mansion in the middle of the woods...
To find John, you will need to search around the house, opening doors, solving puzzles, and always being careful about the noise, or the crazy man will get you.

Characters

There are three playable characters, and each one has his own habilities that will be needed to go to certain areas of the house and solve some puzzles.

Jessica

A very smart and intelligent girl. She is capable of solving the hardest puzzles.

Mike

A very talented musician that is capable of playing anything in any musical instrument.

Bruno

Despite being intellingent, he is a strong kid for his age. That can be used to perform some tasks.

Game Features

> Noise Metter (If it gets too high, you will get caught.) This is the way you lose in this game. The noise metter will go up in every way. Sometimes an unexpected situation can surprise you.

> There will be some puzzles to solve.

> While exploring the mansion you can find ways of opening doors, reading strange books, understanding the story behind the kidnapp and finding secret passages.

> You manage Jessica, Mike and Bruno at the same time, so make sure you use them correctly.

> There are no battles in this game. This is a simple interaction game.

Review when i finish!

What do I do with the locked chest in the bloody room? I'm stuck.
I'm stuck looping between two areas! The entrance hall and the first hallway! No matter which door I go through (excluding the one that leads to the piano) I always end up in one room or the other!
I will add a walkthrough in the download section. Untill it gets accepted, i will send you a PM with the solution, if you didn't find it yet...

...words fail me.

The Cutscenes in Space were bad enough, but when I got a game over just for forcing a door open, I couldn't continue. Sorry, but I did not enjoy this in the slightest.
You didn't notice the noise metter? (That's how the game spells it.)
You died because of the Noise Metter.

And the cutscenes in "space" were supposed to be like that.
I did find those cutscenes to be weird, though. And it's supposed to be spelled Meter.
Okay, I just got a glitch. A really big and bad one.

Script 'Window_SaveFile' Line 28: EOFError occurred.

End of File Reached.

It occurred after I tried load my saved game after it crashed.
why did it crash?
that never happened to me before.
I don't know. I tried to save, and then it said the script was hanging, and quit. Now I can't continue. So wish I bothered to make spare save files. :(

DG, I'm sure they were -supposed- to be like that, but I'm offering you a constructive suggestion: Don't do it. It isn't scary and it isn't entertaining, all it does is detract from the impact of the cutscenes.

Also, my noise meter was barely a tenth full when I forced the door, so it's pretty unforgiving apparently.
Really, the only complaint I have with the game is that the intro scene is way too long. A way to skip that would be nice.

Had the game pending for an year, just saw it was here now, i would have edited it, yes i thought of it, but, i really thought i should have let it as it was when i originally made it. :)

*It was my first game, where i tried many event systems, and tried my first picturing managing.

I just realized something: You originally named this game Maniac House and forgot to change it back in the project file.
You made your walkthrough a download? That's fairly different.
i actually really like it. im at the part where i saw the number in the closet

one funny thing though: the number of your game in the address is 1408, the movie w/ the freaky hotel room.

coincidence?
I think 3 stars is a pretty good average score for a first game. Good job, DarkGamer!
If anybody has a game crash here are some reasons why it would happen.

1.You had it running for too long while looking at stuff on the internet.
(Your Multi-Tasking)

2.You have to much space taken up by other programs.

3.You screwed up your Data.
