A Good Idea That Didn't Reach Its Potential!

Demon Destiny 1 is meant to be a very typical action RPG game. It does accomplish this quite well story wise. However, other factors, such as mapping and the battle system, held it back from reaching its full potential. The game boasts a large 350 maps, which is good to see in a game. However, it would have been nice to see some more quality within those maps. So, it's time to break it down:

Story: 4/5
The story all added up, and it played out rather nicely. The way the story began could have been better (We killed Vekasoul, oops, we brought him back, GO!) and you could have built up Hirota's character a little bit more before mindlessly killing him off. After all, it's hard to miss a character that you never really cared about. Other than this type of stuff, your story was pretty well done.
As for dialogue, there were a few spelling and grammar errors, but not enough to really be all that bothersome. Thus, I am giving you a 4/5

Graphics 3/5
Meh. They definitely could have used improving on, but for the most part, they were ok. Things like miss-matched face sets always drive me nuts. Also, the main hero graphic stuck out quite a bit from the RTP characters, as well as many chip sets. The chipsets used were pretty good, they just weren't used well. You get a 3/5 for this category.

Atmosphere/Mapping: 1/5
FAIL! I am sorry I have to say it in such a hard way, but if you are going to put in the time for a game, this is one of the departments that requires you to really sit down and do some work! You can not cheap out on time when it comes to mapping, as it is one of the most important aspects of an RPG. Players will not want to play games that just simply do not look good! This is definitely something to think about when making Demon Destiny 2.
As far as cutscenes go, they just really didn't cut it. While I can see you made a good effort to make them compelling, it just wasn't enough for me. Some fading and other effects would have really helped the atmosphere during such scenes. It is a shame that the scenes were this way, as a lot of the dialogue in them was quite compelling. Unfortunately, I must give you a 1/5 here.

Music: 3/5
Your game fits the RPG maker stereotype when it comes to music. Lots of very common rips and the like. Not a whole lot here to talk about. Quite a bit of the music felt out of place, too. A better choice of songs in some areas would have improved your mark here. But as it is, I will give you an average 3/5.

Playability: 2/5
As it usually goes with most ABS's, it is always either too easy, or too hard! It needed to be done better than it was, because right now, battles are just a pain! Other than the ABS, there are also problems with Chipset passabilities. A lot of areas between trees that you would think you could fit through, well, you couldn't. Also, your head was always above trees, which isn't quite right. I can't really give you anything above a 2/5, because, well, you didn't earn it here.

Overall: 2.5/5
The story was good, and the graphics were alright, but none of this could truly hold the game up itself. The mapping was terrible, there was almost nothing for atmosphere, and the ABS was just terrible. It's too bad this game didn't quite turn out to be the game that I am sure you truly meant it to be.

I wish you good luck with Demon Destiny 2, and all of your future projects. Please consider this review when making any other games.

What..
I wouldn't consider mapping the most important part of an RPG. Each to his own I suppose.
