Hellion

There is something strange going on at the old temple in the remote village of Salidar. You are the Mysterious Wanderer - a warrior chosen from destiny to face the evil within. Your fate is tied intimately with what lies at its depths. Will you bring salvation to the forlorn hopefuls of Salidar? Or will you unleash destruction, whether by design or disaster? It is in your hands....

Hellion is best described as a cross between Dragon Warrior, Diablo and D&D - you have a blank slate character with 7 classes to choose from at the beginning of the game. You adventure solo. You can hire hirelings. The monster drops are random. The graphics are NES. The battles backgrounds are black. There are traps. There are locks to be picked and NPCs to be persuaded.

..:: FEATURES ::..
- Dragon Warrior NES-style theme
- Several outside of battle skills, including lockpicking, hiding, running, pickpocketing and persuading.
- A simple Alignment tracking system
- Random monster drops and chest contents
- On-map traps and monsters
- Unique Skill trees for the 7 character classes
- Fatigue-based Running System

Hellion: Rad Sunglasses mappack

Here is the mappack for Hellion with the XTREME LFX content! Download the rar file and unzip the contents of the rar file and copy it into the Hellion folder, overwriting what's there. Let me know if it doesn't work.

GreatRedSpirit for the darkness code and image.
kentona for putting it all together and making another rocking arrow tile puzzle (booyah)

OH MY GOD this page is lovely now
It's still a bit of work in progress. I have to fix up a few thing, plus figure out the review and download listings. Thanks, though!

Gamepage is awesome.
Wow the gamepage looks great!
This game is a lot of fun Kentona. Nice work. This may even be better than Hero's Realm...maybe.
I say, let us whip out the booze and start blasting out some Final Fantasy fanfare music. Congrats to Hellion's completion.
I do it for the makerscore.
grats on the feature but more importantly grats on stealing away several more hours of my life! Thanks for another awesome sauce game!
First of all, I must say that Hellion is fantastic. I'm playing it for some hours now, and I think I'm stuck with a little bug here.

For some reason, my animagus can't level up to level 6. That is: his exp. is stuck in 4400.

I don't know if it's a bug, but it's annoying me quite a lot.

Is there any way to solve my problem?
Well, well; somehow I managed to get to level 6. I can't really understand what's causing the problem (everything else seems to be ok, all other members are level 12 or so).

It's possible that it has something to do with the transformations...
Just to get matters clear: now I'm stuck with 6500 exp.
The EXP is being reset every time you use a transformation skill (like Werewolf or Werebear). I will have to fix it and release a patch.
I'm ashamed to admit I'm having some font issues with this game, and for the life of me I don't know why.

I've installed the font as the instructions directed. However, when I start up the game, the main menu is completely blank. Nothing is written at all. Did I miss something?
Well, try installing these fonts too:

You might not have the nice oldschool looking font, but it will be at least visible.

If this doesn't work, let me know. Fonts have always given me trouble in the past (in general). Rm2k/3 is finicky that way.
I got it working, thanks! Seems a good computer restart fixed this particular problem, wish I had thought of it earlier.
How do I make the game open in windowed mode permanently? I don't like playing fullscreen because although I have aspect scaling turned on the pixels are still stretched and blurred, but everytime I change to windowed mode the game reverts to fullscreen the next time I launch it. Has this got something to do with RMK2003?

That's just the way RM works. Just open the game and press F4. It's not that big of a hassle.
Geoxan, it depends on the graphics card. For ATI cards, even if you have ratio scaling turned on, it won't work. You will also need to toggle "enable GPU scaling".

Other then that, you can try to update your drivers. If you have Nvidia however, there were issues with the latest drivers... It can also come down to your hardware.
no, the aspect scaling is fine, because i configure it from the monitor. i just want the game to start in windowed mode everytime i launch it, and I thought I could tweak some .ini files to do it.
