One of the most critically acclaimed* Spanish RPG maker games now fully translated into English by Erilex (me), original creator of the game.

Dhux's Scar follows the misadventures of Elijah, a lowly, mediocre merchant that is suddenly faced with the chance of a lifetime: To earn a huge fortune by betraying the trust of one innocent little girl. Of course, things won't work out quite as smoothly as he intended. Little does he know that he is about to be dragged into a ruthless battle between powers that defy human comprehension. There will be blood. And tears. Not to mention painfully generic (yet entertaining in a trainwreck sort of way) plot twists.

The game contains plenty of the following:

-Custom graphics. Lots of them. Chipsets and panoramas are pretty much the only thing that isn't 100% custom (with a few exceptions towards the end of the game)
-Insanely difficult Challenging gameplay and battles.
-Two different endings.
-Pixelated blood and violence.
-Not so pixelated but still rather crudely drawn blood and violence.
-Religious overtones! Yay!

===IMPORTANT, READ BEFORE PLAYING:===
Dhux's Scar was created with the 1.51 Value! version of RPG Maker 2000, which adds some extra features such as increasing the maximum number of pictures being shown on screen, or allowing enemies to have up to 99999 HP. Using an older version of the editor to modify the game or play in test mode might have unexpected (and probably game-breaking) results. The safest thing to do is to play it directly from the executable.

*Whether this means that Spanish people have really low standards or that the game is actually any good will be left to the player's discretion.

Remember Faye and Gabrielle? Well, now you can experience their alternate universe adventures as magical girls in Angelic Virtues, a short 1 hour and a half-ish game made in 1 month for the IGMC 2022 game jam. Yes, it's normal. You will hardly sustain any damage as long as you follow the proper steps (if Elijah charges an attack, ALWAYS use Reflect on that turn), so you won't really need them.
(Message deleted. Considering what the guys were talking about in the post above me, I thought it was okay. <_<)
The .exe file comes up as a Trojan virus on my computer... :(

I'm using Windows 7, by the way.

Your anti virus is giving you a false positive.

Results from recent scan by Virus Total:

Only McAfee thinks it's a trojan, so if you have McAfee, then follow these instructions to submit the RPG_RT.exe to them, so they can confirm it isn't infected and correct the problem with their anti virus with its next update.

Yes, spoilers in game comments are very uncool.
I've got issues with Parn and Noah :

1)
I can't get through the third Noah's riddle : "... will undoubtely (cross X ???)".
Any clue ?

2)
How do you "unseal" Parn ?
After a few turns he uses his vengeful blast, wipe my party and that's it !
Is there a trick to prevent this from happening ?

Thanks !

ILoveflash:

I was talking to everyone posting spoilers, not just you.

detourre:

Solution to follow:

1. Draw a cross on the tiles.

2. Don't attack when he is charging vengeful blast. The amount of damage you do to him in that round is how much you get hit for.
Thanks Solitayre but I did what you suggested for number 1 and couldn't get the gate opened.
(I can't show you what I did, in order to prevent a spoiler, as I don't know how to make a "hide section")
Could you be more explicit and show me the design ?
detourre that one bugged the crap out of me too. But since I dont know how to use spoiler tags on RMN i just sent you a PM.
oh and Erilex i just finished playing this and... wow

Overall the game is absolutely amazing. The story had me completely hooked from start to finish. And what a finish it was! I half considered writing a review because I have so much to say about it but I figured I'd just summarise it here.

I mean this game just succeeds on so many levels. It is incredibly well balanced (even if quite a bit hard). The artwork is unique and consistently good throughout the game. the music suits perfectly and is very well placed in the game. Even the mechanics like PE, unholy prayer, barter and others really add a whole new dimension to the game. I myself squandered my PE, but I loved the story so much I went back a few saves and played through proper, grinding as i went (which i never do, i am not a hardcore rpg player).

This is the first RPG maker game I have ever played to completion, and im damned glad i did. It really felt like a proper pro-level game that was very well thought out and executed. It is hard to fit so much story, gameplay, character development and mechanics into a short story but you did it flawlessly.

So overall, great game, fantastic job and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. I am now officially your fan and I'll be looking forward to any games you make in the future.

P.S. If I ever become famous I am SO PLUGGING THIS!!
A comment on "It is incredibly well balanced (even if quite a bit hard)."

So yeah... That actually ain't true once you realize that the Rusty Edge (or however Erilex translated Filo Herrumbroso's name) keeps any potential damage source down by the price of SAVING MONEY. On my last playthrough I hated
losing it
when
Elijah showed himself as a reverse trap.

In case someone doesn't get how that blade keep you from wasting money, it's simple. It enrages enemies, making magic users do things like hitting an unbuffed Celline for 0 damage and even some phys. attackers like Sraakons generally less dangerous as they only attack once. In other words, it makes Elijah's attack command useful (OP imho), hence rendering amulet based attacks quite useless.

You could say you lose kill speed by doing that... Just try it, dohoho.

^^
Do you knew how to to finish second Noah Riddle ?
Must say that the game was really hard but i finally finished. But the ending was, kind of sad.But got to admit
that the drawing were cool and also the storyline was interesting.

I was using some of the graphics\facesets I mean for my Dark/Light game, changed them, just so that maybe unless he doesn't want anyone to use them.
Played it, and loved it!!!! Great Job.
So I started playing this yesterday. Normally I wouldn't post if I didn't have anything constructive to add, but I just thought I'd drop in to say that this is potentially one of the most demented RPG Maker games I've ever played. Maybe not the best, but definitely one of the most unique, and one that gets more juice from the RPG Maker 2000 engine than I've seen higher iterations pull from theirs.

Considering that somebody mentioned The Observer in calunio's review, would you be interested in translating that one too? Or would it be too much work, or would you rather expend your efforts elsewhere? No pressure, but calunio's brief comment about how weird The Observer supposedly is makes me kind of intrigued.

The Observer reeks of first game-ness (it's technically not my first game, just the first one whose existence I'm willing to acknowledge). If I actually attempted to translate it I can see myself rewriting most of the script in an attempt to cover up what I now perceive as glaring flaws. That's not to say I won't ever translate it, but I'd prefer to focus on turning Doble Filo into something half-decent for the time being.

Edit: Also, it's not really "weird", at least compared to the likes of Dhux's Scar.
After looking at some of the files (and not touching any of them), I noticed some of the files from the battle folder aren't working. Omegaport doesn't work, and neither does battle begin, I just get an error message stating that it 'couldn't find the file Omegaport' or something of the like. I've tried various things to help (probably none of which make any sense since I'm not too familiar with RMK), but to no avail. Any suggestions?
