Parallel

Parallel follows the story of Layla and Landis, two strangers on a quest to obtain a mysterious object they refer to as It. They know "It"'s location, in the hands of Hazella, mayor of Hillshire. But their quest goes far beyond a search when they learn the only way to obtain It from Hazella is to find the person who stole one of the town's treasures, a statue of Hillshire's founder.

What at first seems like a straightforward case is quickly turned on its head by an object that can transfer the holder into an entirely different dimension, one in which every citizen is a monster that potentially could have committed the crime. More and more objects are being stolen, and the crimes extend to both dimensions.

Who is the thief? What is their motive? What is this magical object? Where did it come from? What is "It"? Why do Layla and Landis want it?
