Suito Homu: The Second Cooking... Fried

FOR RELEASE SOMETHING DAY X.
Gamepage

I honestly cannot finish it at this time. It's impossible. It demands the merits of actual filming. Never mind how I can photoshop every single frame. This was planned to be just as movie-like as it is game-like. Both mixes combined into one. But I'm living in a freaking condo with no internet connection, small small small budget... I don't know. You finally live on your own, and this is what happens. Stuff. So, I can't make the decisions around these parts. Just give it a try. Just know it will be finished. Well... eventually. No rush though.

OK, thanks for addressing my questions and comments. Sounds like you have a little work to do! The only thing I will add something about the active ATB: hopefully the pace you instead for your battles is not too hectic, because in that can be chaotic. As you have it currently, I can deal with. Good luck on working to move this game forward!
-Yes... I intend to replicate said gameplay features, all 3 listed on Wikipedia that you saw.
-I don't know if Si/non is French or what, but that is fricking weird you had to go through RTP testing and downloading.
-The characters in the demo are me, my stepbrother, and his friend respectively. Team choice affects the game's development quite heavily. An entirely different cutscene here and there, personality-twisted dialogue... It won't be Heavy Rain, but it sure is sounding like it at this point.
-Yes, the dialogue is supposed to add humor to remind you of exactly what you're playing. Fourth-wall breaking, so to speak. But as of this moment there isn't enough yet to refine the dialogue in that portion... yet.
-Visit the video section of this gamepage to see a couple of "making of" vids. Once again I say, anybody can do this, but it seems I'm the only one who has.
-They were... unique? I've no justification on that aspect. And Anthony was supposed to stop animation after a few frames, but the Default system won't allow that.
-Yes, just tell us where to hire a chick with tons of makeup to make her look friggin' old and scary. All in due time, Ed.
-The dog is just a random character to make the caterpillar add up to four members.
-DragonBall Z style, my fine sir.
-Events FTW. Screw the X and Y coordinates.
-Yes, active ATB, as with most other cookie-cutter RM2k3 titles. I'm fond of it when it's used right.
-A separate game altogether. Thanks for asking.
-Suito Homu capped off at level 20, just as I'm doing. And let me just say, that's a lot more feasible than the ungodly amount of time you'd spend near the end of Final Fantasy VII or the like trying to get to level 99 from that point.
-As with the original Nintendo, sometimes things like Sweet Home had character limits. So, "poison" was abbreviated to PSN. As are the other afflictions.
-Believe me, I'll find some ridiculous way of adding more strategy to him. You will really wish to conserve those tonics in the final version, because there's only a limited number of those you can collect before you're screwed over.
-Anthony simply doesn't have his charge anim completed yet.
-RM2k3 is a freaky freaky beast. I'm not going to bother with finding out the balancing issues until I have all the moves completed.

OK. Here's my feedback, mostly comments and some questions I wrote as I played it, regarding your demo:

- I have never heard about the original Sweet Home game. I found this information that I used for reference:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Home_%28video_game%29

- Do you intend to replicate some of the gameplay features mentioned? I think the first two mentioned are definitely interesting, while the third would be hard but not impossible to implement, but it's up to you ...
- I had to try a couple of RM2k3 RTPs for the game to work. The one that did let me play it was 1.08 version french translation. The only thing it seems to have messed up was when Ex Treey ask you if you want to fight him, he does it in French.
- Who are the characters in your party in your demo? How will team choice affect the game's development?
- I see why you put the option to skip dialogue in the tournament, since it's pretty much irrelevant.
- Some of the moves your characters have in battle remind of some silly old school kung fu movies (I am not as familiar with those of the MK franchise). I see why the screenshoot can do justice to how wicked some of them are.
- In the celebration at the end of fights, your members seem to be on something (although I have seen worse in other RPGs).
- For Nanette, you could use some sort of creepy Sprite instead of a stone statue (not scary at all!)
- What's the deal with the dog at the lobby? When you talk to it, it teams up with you for the caterpillar you attempt in the demo.
- When charging SP during battles, it sounds like somebody's passing a stone.
- Interesting what you did to handle walking under the wooden bridges.
- The battle system is active ATB, right?
- Is SOR2 Alley supposed to be some sort of bonus section or separate game?
- Will you cap off levels at 20 for the actual game?
- What is that status affliction you get with Flash? said PSN.
- EX Treey is the only somewhat threatening enemy in the demo because of this use of Flash and higher speed (about two turns per one of yours.
- If Anthony runs out of SP, the only way to recovers them is using pills, right?
- The different attacks don't seem to differ too much in the amount of damage they do.

Yes, pretty much. '^_^ You can press the action key on the gap nearest Isura to fill up the floor enough to explore the rest of that room, but that's basically it!

Yeah, I was able to fill the gap. Since I guess I'm done playing (although I might just do it again to look at details more carefully!), I should be posting some feedback by the weekend, at the latest.

I have a question. Is beating Trey and talking to Isura to go to the Test Preview of Sor Alley 2, other than reading the letter and talking to the blond girl all there's to do in the mansion in the demo?
