EPIC! Could use a little more detail, though.
Yup, you're absolutely right. Most of the travel between towns is straightforward, but opportunities to explore open up later in the game. Much of the exploration before then is done within towns and dungeons.
Just a nit-pick, but darker water is usually associated with deeper water. You flipped that with you map, and have the shores darker (deeper looking) than the lighter seas(shallow looking).

Otherwise the map looks good and gives an impression that you have a well thought out world.

Sorry about that. That's a direct result in the tileset rendering at 1/8th, so that it could be screencapped for this image. The in-game graphics actually have the coastal areas as lighter and the deep sea as darker, rather than as bright blue and gray (respectively).

Nice shape of the world map. I swear I wasn't influenced by this when I did Legend of Denadel's last year! Coincidence that they're similar.

I noticed that there was a vague similarity between this map and the map for the first game. Also this very vaguely looks like a map of Earth.
How do you take pics like this?
From the editor, I took multiple screen caps and stitched them together. I never enjoy doing it that way, but it's the only way I can think of.
