Demo Now Available

Well then, as you can see the demo has been accepted and awaits your download! Ha ha. It has a fairly lengthy playtime, spanning roughly 4-5 hours (give or take), and that's not even the half-way point of the game! But if you were to play, the overall party level before finishing would be roughly... Lv.16-18. Just saying.

But if you give the game a try, please get back to me with your thoughts! Nothing better than coming on here and seeing a comment on one of your game pages. He he.

So... enjoy!

Small Update

Just made a small update to the "Class Information" page. I've placed under each class a list of abilities that they can learn throughout the game. Just thought it'd be a bit helpful.

Demo? I think so!

I know that I had a demo of this game hosted here sometime in the past, but that was a version that had not been nearly as refined as what I have now. Because of that, and simply to give a taste of the game to all of you out there who may have missed the short window of opportunity when it appeared, I'm going to release a demo of the game very shortly. It'll hold a fair bit of content, but it won't be enough to spoil the game or make you not want to play the full version once it is complete.

I'm hoping to have all of the test-playing done by Sunday, and perhaps even have the demo uploaded on that same day as well. That's only if I'm lucky however, because I've got a lot of things going on at the moment.

Sooo... just keep an eye out!

Development 01

In between writing the script for Dragon Fantasy: Venaitura II and completing work for school every other day, I've been making some progress with Origins. Most of it centers around the Database though, mainly with trying to balance everything out and set up Monsters, Skill, and Items before I go back in to mapping the rest of the game out.

So far I've made a list of the monster types present within the game, and I've assigned to each of them as list of possible skills that will be available to them throughout the course of the game. Unlike in previous DF installments, there will only be a few types of monsters present within the game. What changes is their Level, which raises as you travel from one region/area to the next. In total there are 17 monster types that will be fought throughout the entire game, with each type sharing the same battle icon (battler).

With Skills... I just (or am doing so at the moment) created a giant general list that monsters will choose from. The strength of enemy abilities will depend solely on the monster's stats, and thus I will not have a GARGANTUAN list of spells by the time I'm done creating the monsters (once the game reaches its end). That and there's just no need for that many when the only thing that would actually change is the little description that's given as a spell is cast/skill is used (since I'm using RM 2000).

Other than that, I've recently completed the list of main events that will transpire before game's end/the main story ends, and started thinking up some side-quests that I'll implement once I'm done with the central story-related stuff.

Development resuming!

Dragon Fantasy: Origins was placed on hold while I decided to complete my latest RM2K3 project entitled Eternal Paradise. Now that said game has been released however, I can resume working on DF:O, and hopefully complete it by Christmas time! If not, then it doesn't really matter all that much. I'm in no rush to complete this, and if it takes until the summer then I guess that is all that can be done! It is a terribly fun and simple game to work on, though.

That is all the news for now. I hope that all of you will be on the lookout for future updates!

Question Regarding Saving: Anywhere, or through Priests?

Okay. So I'm going to give you people the choice to decide upon how you save in this game. Should it be ANYWHERE at all (taking away from that old school/NESish feel), or only through a Priest found in town?

Make a comment, and come... oh... let's say FRIDAY, I'll make the decision.

Dragon Fantasy: Origins Preview Video

I only recently put it up on Youtube, so give it a bit to settle down and clear up.

We're going again...!

So now that I have put Eternal Paradise on holy while I finish writing the rest of the plot, I've decided to start working on Origins again! Hurrah. I'll probably put up a few new screenshots and a video today/tomorrow/this week.

Development in suspension!

I wonder how many followers this game actually has? I never really gave a lot to play or look at, but the main reason behind that was my sudden shift in working on Eternal Paradise! I guess I got tired of working on NES-ish games after a while, and I just needed to make something different.

But that is what I am here to tell you! This game's production is being put on pause until Eternal Paradise is completed. After that project is finished, I'm going to take a short break... and then all of my RM efforts are going towards this baby! Oh ho yeah! And I can not wait, either. It will be a MUCH needed break from the graphics and story-heavy RPG Eternal Paradise is turning out to be.

Anyway, that is all I have to tell you for now! I just hope all of you continue to stay on the lookout for when this project enters production once again!

Input needed! Come all ye 10 downloaders!

You must revive, people! I thought that something like this would attract more attention than the regular stuff I've been putting out that was using the same old Dragon Warrior/Quest stuff. But it looks like it's a bit too simple, 'eh? Don't let it fool you, it is not as "bad" as it looks.

In order to actually improve upon anything or see how the difficulty and balance levels fare I need at least one comment from someone other than myself! That can't be too hard, can it? I've managed to garner 10 downloads already, so step forth with an opinion, but limit it only to the gameplay!
