Everything… is everything in our existence just a replica of someone elses?

Your identity defines who you are. But what if you couldn’t have your own identity, or it was being eclipsed by someone elses? What would you do about it?
Kumo Atsureki is your typical 19 year old…if typical 19 year old did mercenary work for a living. His latest mission, however, will trigger a chain of events that will not only force him to face the past and define his identity, but uncover deadly secrets that have laid buried for generations. What is the C-Virus? Who is behind it? These questions and more await you…

Cosplay Crisis is a Final Fantasy crossover fan game that has been in the works for the last three years. Boasting custom battle graphics, Final Fantasy VII’s classic Materia system and remastered and remixed tracks (including Maybe Blue Fields Await and Still More Fighting), Cosplay Crisis is a unique Final Fantasy experience taking place in a new albeit similar world.

Cosplay Crisis is a complete full-length RPG (stemming upwards of 9 hours in length depending how you play). If issues DO crop up, please check this list of unfixable bugs before ranting at me about them ^^''

-Anything with materia.
-If you save on the world map once you have the Ragnarok, close the program, and re-open it, your ship will be back in Tokyo. For the love of christ, don't do it!
-The 'Blasting Zone' animation appears over the Battle Status. I fiddled with it far too much as it is, so I left it.
-There's some issues with the item menu and the battle status when in battle. I have tried MULTIPLE TIMES to fix this, and haven't been successful. I'm sorry guys, I'm not a programmer, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.
-Some bosses in the final battles don't appear immediately. I don't know why that happens- I've tried fiddling with it but couldn't fix it.
-Common event skills don't update the battle status straight away (1000 Needles and Shock). I tried to fix this, too, but couldn't fathom a way to fully refresh the battle status through the common event call...so it has been left.
-If you try to save when CC is lagging or you have a ridiculous amount of saves (depends on your computer- my one is quite powerful, so I have about 45 saves and don't get this) the save system MAY hang. I recommend playing CC without anything else open so it has lots of RAM to chew through. RMXP's fault, not mine. The anti-'script is hanging' script didn't play well with CC, before you suggest it.
-If you use a Kumo/Levi limit break while critical, the characters won't reappear immediately. I'm not sure why this is, and haven't got a clue how to fix it.

This is it.

Ok guys. I probably won't be releasing anything else for this game in terms of playable content. Yeah, no 3.0 with the new run system. I really don't feel like it any more and I'm working on other things.
I'm declaring Cosplay Crisis finished unless massive game breaking bugs suddenly rear their heads.

Also: I AM NEVER MAKING A SEQUEL. Cosplay Crisis will not share that with Final Fantasy. Why? Because I don't think I can stick to the original premise well enough in any sort of continuation of the story.

If you would like clarification on any plot elements I didn't elaborate on (Yagami is probably in this list) feel free to PM me, since I do have all those explanations planned out. In retrospect it was probably silly to include them, but oh well.

Been playing for an hour and I still can't figure out where the hell I got to go to do the first mission. Wandering through Residential in night and nothing. This game does lack a sense of direction. Must have spoke to so many NPC's again and again repeatedly thinking of where supposed to head. Also mapping doesn't really give an intended sense of this leads here more like no you can't go there??? Well where can you go, kind of frustrating...

I was supposed to fix that bug, but I have lost all motivation to work on this game unfortunately. I might upload a patch sometime with fixed maps.
I didn't realize you could activate the play event before Levi returned to your party, either. I'll look into it, I suppose.
I would like to apologise to Kumo and Levi for creating a time paradox by playing whilst half asleep....

accidentally skipped the mission to(spoilers)
rescue plane passengers in the forest of dispair
(spoilers end), then wandering around to train just after getting Ragnorok....

...and saw a scene of Kumo and Levi talking (although Levi was still (somewhere) on Ragnorok. After Levi chased a scream, I (as a full party of Kumo, Lulu and Shadz) followed to see.... an empty clearing.... and no Levi....or (Spoilers)
Gilian Beast
(spoilers end)

Also, i went back to Acaridae to check for missed items (im a completionist) and triggered the play event, forcing Levi into my party and he remains so afterwards.... only problem is... I'm still on the way to the Albatross Volcanic Tunnels...

...I guess Levi's break got cut short...Oops...
When I talk to Shadz to get off the ragnarok to go to the lava caverns, I'm immediately placed outside of Tokyo, the Ragnarok is parked on Mt. Fuji, and I can't get back on it. Help!
Well, I especially love the the humour, the jokes, the sarcasm, the funny lines and all. The graphics are also very good (But you could have used less RTP). The story is quite enjoyable.

And maybe it's a nostalgic feeling because I discovered this game long ago :3

Actually, if I may enquire, (herp) what gives Cosplay Crisis its replay ability? You're not the first to mention they're doing a second run through, so I'm curious as to what triggers people to want to play the whole game through again (given that it's not exactly short).

I would TBH. These two would make very good bosses actually, IMO.

But oh well, too bad ): I hope your other games have this awesome atmosphere too, and that high replayablity rate. <3

Nup nup, I swore no sequel. I do leave a few things pretty open ended (YAGAMI ANYONE?) but it's really not worth it :c

Not saying I haven't thought about it, but really, this game was so taxing on my resources and not to mention that the title is pretty redundant currently, so it'd be super redundant in a sequel.

besides no one really wants to have to fight Kumo and Levi as a final boss right
No problem. Do you plan on making a sequel? The story pretty much seems to end here, maybe with other heroes? Or a completely new plot, with the same base, or something? :3

I'm glad you enjoyed it! ^^
Oh, I get it now. So it was faked. Thankyous. :3

I also spied a tiny spelling error, I just forgot where. I'll probably replay it someday and let you know if you want. God I love this game. <3

Spoilers ahoy:

I was tempted to leave it like that and have you think he died/ambiguous, which was how the original ending went (yeah, CC always ended with Levi being severely beaten up- original had Ultimecia skewer him with an icicle).
Basically it's a nod toward the original Disk 1 of FF8.
Anyway, he's a lot harder to kill than a regular human being(as you probably realized) and Kumo and co. weren't trying to kill him, just bring him to his senses, and they didn't have any other choice but to fight him. He was unconscious at the end of the fight, and he'd recovered by the time Kumo made his speech, just in time for CC's version of the FF hug.

If you want a more detailed answer/have a more specific question, please PM me :D
I just completed it last night.

I thought you-know-who died? I didn't completely get it.
I didn't see your response when I posted a minute after you did, but either way, thank you for the help. ^ ^

Yeah, RMXP isn't like RMVX/A unfortunately :c you need to actually install the fonts rather than the game pulling them from a Fonts folder. Glad they fixed that in later makers! XD
Nvm, I fixed it. I just needed to install the fonts straight to my compy to get it to display. :)

There's a Folder called "Fonts". You have to install them all before things will work correctly :)
I can't read the dialogue... :( on the title screen I can't see the options... nor does any dialogue in the actual game display.

That really is fantastic news! I couldn't be more overjoyed!

Especially since I have no idea what that means. The entire minigame is handled by events, so I'm at a loss as to what actually causes that.

Could you tell me exactly what happens? You don't kill 20 zombies, and then?

I think there IS a bit of an issue with the minigame and failing it anyway that I haven't picked up, so I've tried to fix it in general.
