(Semi)Pacifist Run

So, having played Undertale and thoroughly enjoyed it, I latched upon an idea of having a similar style to the game. The thing is, I am coming from a different place than Undertale, so it was less an absolute pacifist game and at best, a boss only run.

The game mechanics involves donating items, similar to how offering meat to the critter in Zelda 1 (or food in BotW) distracts the critter. The battle does not count as a victory (kill) and you may or may not get many items, but you earn exp and gold. Besides avoiding bad endings, certain enemies have karma attacks, which can be devastating if you went kill crazy. Also, Ambrosia's Tao command is most effective when your karma is unstained as too much bad karma makes it backfire.

This requires large amounts of fishing, mining, and/or stealing and selling, but it's kinda cool to just bribe some critter off with huge amounts of fish or something. I might tone down the amounts later, but anyway.

Small Updates

I've been doing a few updates lately, namely making some code more simplified (I had quite few common events that were causing choppy movement, at least on my computer), changing the graphics to CRT, changing how UFOs are handled, changing the forage mechanics, simplifying Alchemy (it was always a powerful yet difficult mechanic) and making it run much more smoothly. And so on, I think I fixed more than a few glitches along the way, particularly movement glitches.

I had a Pathfinder .dll awhile back from when the old DynRpg system accepted such things, but ultimately I wound up scrapping because it didn't work with the new one. So whenever I find them, I'm having to delete Pathfinder comment code.

I also wanted to have the Void world operate on a timer rather than the time of day. Void world now should have no day or night (it's effectively a world where time has stopped), but should instead erase the party with negative energy if they stay out too long. It did this before, but there was basically no warning.

Currently, I'm working on connecting the tunnels in one map, and looking over random stuff.

There were other updates, and there probably will be others. I am writing an Oracle of Tao novel, so as things occur to me, changes might reflect in the game.

Progress Report

Satisfied (mostly) with the game

In general, I think I've added enough stuff. Pretty much the only thing is that I want to have an RPS+ error removed with breaks battles when you use Item while a monster is using RPS battle skills. Other than that, I feel comfortable moving on to Tales From The Reaper.
