kentona - My Pet Zombie
This is a neat and creative mini-game where you have to guide a zombie back to its grave by placing various arrow tiles and related objects on the map. One object lets the zombie jump across a gap, and there are other mechanics such as a statue that the zombie can't pass in front of. There's about 5 levels, and you'll need to do a little thinking to figure out the right path, which is not always obvious. This one was really fun and required just the right amount of effort, which felt really satisfying.

Liberty - Diggin' the Dead
This level is themed around inputting keys quickly and accurately. You have to go around collecting bones from gravestones by passing each challenge. These can be things like mashing certain buttons as much as you can within a time limit, or pressing a correct button sequence quickly enough. Not too hard and doesn't need much thinking, but you do need some quick fingers, and I did enjoy doing something a little different this time.

AABattery - Switching Things Up
You play the classic cup and balls game here, where a ball is hidden beneath 1 of 3 cups and then they are moved around and you guess which cup contains the ball. It's a fairly easy level and it seems pretty forgiving too. There's also some extra dialogue with a magician and a zombie throughout the game, which was pretty amusing.

Aten - 3 Cup Flip
There are 2 cups facing up and 1 cup facing down. You can only flip 2 cups at a time, and the goal is to get 3 cups facing up. This seems mathematically impossible and you're allowed to just skip it. Pretty pointless.

Kazesui - Time is on my side
You have about 12 levers or so, and 7 doors. 1 door is the exit and the other 6 doors have zombies. Each lever opens or closes some of the doors, and the goal is to flip the right combination of doors that open the exit while leaving the zombie doors closed. There's not a whole lot of strategy here, other than to start with a lever that opens the exit and then trying other levers hoping to get the right combination. I tried opening all the doors on the left and right first, and then trying the other levers to close them and it eventually worked out.

Kazesui - Befuddle Guns
This is a shooting gallery mini-game, where you move a crosshair around and shoot targets. The scripting and custom look of this level is pretty impressive. The levels are pretty hard though, as you have to hit almost all the targets to pass each level. I could only finish the beginner one, and the second one, after many tries. Still, I really appreciate the amount of effort put into this one.

Hexatona - Perilous Pillar Paths
I liked the concept of being able to destroy the pillars or use them to jump. In the end, it seems the chests were nothing more than a distraction though, so it was a bit of a let down, since it was only a matter of taking the only remaining path.

AznChipmunk - Casette Collector
This is a fairly fun level where you go around collecting various cassette tapes and playing them on stereos. Each cassette literally plays different genres of music, and disables certain types of zombies that are blocking your way. My biggest complaint though is the quiz near the end that requires you to actually recognize various genres of music in real life in order to answer correctly. Otherwise, this was a solid level with a cool theme.

Gibmaker - Crystal Crag
I wasn't quite sure what exactly was going on at first, even after I solved the first couple of puzzles, with half dumb luck possibly. Turns out going through an arrow in the opposite direction flips its color, and you can't flip the same arrow twice in a row. Maybe there could be more of an explanation to start, but I kind of did enjoy discovering the mechanics on my own. Once you get the mechanics, the puzzles are pretty fun to solve, and not as hard as you might expect, as long as you don't go too fast and flip an arrow you don't want by accident. The level ended up being pretty fun and the mechanics were interesting.

Mary4D - Haunted House
It's basically just a one room rock pushing puzzle, with the added twist of some ghosts roaming around that you can't touch. I beat it on my first try without even stopping to think, so it was pretty easy.

SquishyWizard - Scarlet Facade
When you try to enter this level from the map, there's a bug where it asks if you want to play again if you already beat Pet Zombie. Anyways, the first part of the game involves running around town to collect 3 souls while avoiding zombies who try to mob you. I was annoyed by the bones on the ground which blended with the street and you couldn't step over them. The second part involves you chasing down a boss to hit them while avoiding zombies, and I thought this part was pretty fun to play. The third part involves flipping switches randomly. I thought maybe there was some kind of clue, but I couldn't find anything back in town. I eventually found the right switches by accident, I think? Not really sure what this part was all about. I did like the little story in this level though.

thedjt - Bridges. How Ironic.
There's a bunch of islands with levers and each lever can create 1 or 2 bridges connecting to another island. The goal is to have exactly a certain number of bridges, while some islands have a sign that tell you how many bridges should be connected to that island. It ends up fairly easy and is just a matter of walking around counting bridges, but I wouldn't have wanted it any harder for a big map anyways. I think it would have been more challenging if the map was smaller but there were more restrictions on the bridge numbers.

VideoWizard - Zombie Room
This level was just barely anything. There's a few decoy switches, some arrow sliding tiles and you just avoid touching some slow moving zombies. It lasts all of maybe 30 seconds. This is the biggest let down of any level in the series.

Mikemc - Cabin Fervor
You go inside a small cabin, and the floor is full of arrow tiles, except that they keep rotating around and pointing to different directions. The objective is to touch 10 or so skeletons scattered throughout the room. You basically just try to move onto some of the arrows when it's pointing in various directions and hope for the best. It's a small room though, so you'll get it eventually if you just keep trying. Not much to it, but gotta admit that background music put a smile on my face.

Fractal Advocate - Zombie Hard With A Vengeance
This is a very well thought out level that I really enjoyed. The first part has two types of rocks, and each type can either passable or not if you "flip" them using their corresponding crystals. You navigate your way though by flipping these rocks on and off appropriately. The second part has you controlling both Zack and Ghost Broomhilda, and each of them can interact with certain objects differently. Combined with the previous rock mechanics, the goal is to switch back and forth between them cooperatively to get them both to the their desired locations. You have to think carefully how to move to avoid getting stuck and be successful. I managed to get past the second last part without using the crystals in the back, so I wonder if that was just a distraction all along. A minor complaint is that the game doesn't tell you can switch back to Zack after getting Broomhilda, so I was confused on what to do for a while. I really enjoyed playing this one and figuring out how to maneuver both characters to the right places.

Craze - Zombieconomy Sim
This economy sim is very similar to the one in BQ2. Thankfully this time, the game tells you what your decisions will actually do, such as +/- food, gold, or bones, even though it doesn't always work. Also, it's good that this time it tells you how much your production goes up or down, rather than just the total, so you don't have to do the math yourself. Strangely, this time there's no elf guy to tell you your current totals when you want to check your progress.

Conclusion
Overall, this was a solid entry in the series, and it's great that you play the levels in any order and as many times as you like. Some of the levels were very well done, especially the ones that were about logical thinking rather than just trial and error. Most of the simpler levels had something charming to offer as well, but there were also a few disappointing levels that obviously just phoned it in. Still, this was a generous amount of levels, and I never felt truly too frustrated at any point, so it seems well balanced. I look forward to playing the next entry, Befuddle Quest 5.

I had a lot of fun making this BQ. Fun fact: My Pet Zombie inspired Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer. I even inadvertently helped calunio with his code

My Pet Zombie was my second favourite level here, right behind Zombie Hard With A Vengeance. I loved everyone's different take on zombie theme.
