Starting out as a carefree fool, Cristophe Deveraux never expected his career as a monster hunter to turn into more than just a livelihood. With his smart-aleck cousin Carolyn as partner, they battled various monsters, solving supernatural quests that were way beyond their academical know-how.

Along the course of adventure, Cristophe and Carolyn made friends with some extraordinary people: Robert Chandler, a ranger trying to make peace with his past; Paolo Marvellini, a dwarf priest struggling to protect his family from the conspiracy around him; and many more heroes in the land, all with their unique personalities, abilites (and problems).

As finale, all those heroes were pitted together in an ultimate quest to prevent the return of Vordac the Dark OverLord - an ancient evil whose soul was sealed inside the godly sword, Deathblade Kraal'shazar.

Will the heroes stop Vordac for good? Will they become the prophesied Paladins of Legend who hinder the ultimate evil from plaguing the good, magical world of Terra Everna? In this game episode, FireHeart Saga - the Third Cycle begins.

As per Bicfarmer's review, we've corrected some logic in the game and updated the download file. You can download and reinstall the game, but copy the savegame files to another place first before copying them back to the game folder.

Notes:
- Before taking on every mine cart ride, make sure your entire party HP's are full. If all HPs are O, it's game over even when they "survived" from the leap.
- The Frei Val'shka battle in Emole Grad seems to be in order. But if it's not much trouble, send us the file of the saved game prior to that event to evernasaga-at-gmail-dot-com, and we'll work out the bug ASAP.
- Most of the illogical things are fixed.

This RPG is extremely broken.

I get stuck/unable to progress/mess up the game logic several times while playing. One major problem is the fast travel system. Often times, I end up in the fast travel selection room and was unable to return to where I previously was, and it also has a tendency to open up warps to areas that I have not visited yet. In fact my first death was when stumbling into the fast travel access from the beggining town of the game, where I went to some other town to die to the first random encounter that was several levels above me. Anyway, I was playing along being amused by pretty much everything in this game, but in the battle with the ice lady at the dwarven throne room, the game froze at the start of battle. That's as far as I got.

There are also several times where an NPC wanders into a chokepoint causing me to get stuck and have to reset the game. I admit I've seen this problem only once in another game but never have I seen it happen this many times in a single game. Impressive.

In general, the game logic is very confused. Here's some examples:
- some NPC's point at someone in the room who's not there (but will appear there later)
- A mandatory scene where you need to cook something to progress but you aren't told what the recipe is
- about half the shops in the game sell weaker or obsolete gear
- There is no apparent logic for who can equip what weapons (other than the girl using staves)
- when i got on the boat near Alceste, the boat instead starts at West Arcadia and circumnavigates the world to get to somewhere else.
- Ridding a minekart where we jump out as it crashes into a chasm, our characters comment on how we survived and have to walk the rest of the way, followed by a game over screen
- The BGM all but disappears at some point in chapter 5
- one of the houses in alceste is a debug room that you can casually wander into

Here's some fun game design choices in this game I have never seen before:
- bandit enemies that steal your gold then immediately end the battle.
- some towns have pickpockets that steal your money if you walk near them (you dont know how much money they took)
- a timed shooting minigame where some targets go invisible
- a horse racing minigame that is completely dependent on dice rolls
- a flashback where a guy rides a horse thru enemy territory for about five real time minutes
- an area filled with invisible traps that cause anything from random status effects to outright KO to one character. When i leave the area and come back, the traps get reactivated. This also happens with several other minor events throughout the game.
- This game has a recurring theme with runaway kids. Several main/side quests involve some runaway kid or another.


If you want to see a fun game that defies logic, by all means try this game.

Anyone with a bug or "weighty dwarf" problem can use the old savegames you've copied to another directory. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

If the problem persists, you can use the F9 key (debug menu).
For instance, before the Emole Grad sequence, in the front of Ylbarra Citadel, to prevent freezing make sure Variable #22: Hermit of Grad is 26 or more. Hope it helps. Rgds, the dev.

As suggested, I uninstalled the previous version and installed the new one:

- first attempt: I copied my old save files in the new folder : the "Weighty dwarf" remained equipped by Cris as accessory, and the game freezed as before.

- since Cris had the "Weighty dwarf" equipped in all my 4 old saves, I thought that that could be the source of the above failure and re-run the game from start. The "Weighty dwarf" indeed disappeared as accessory but was correctly dropped at the feet of the Grand Trow: unfortunately, the game freezed as before.

I imagine that going back to work after a 3-year discontinuation is a difficult job: is there however any hope to solve the problem?



Guess I must replay and/or double-check the whole thing myself. Maybe the problem is within the variable sequence.

Is there any savegame file where you can unequip the weighty dwarf first? I removed the checkpoints so hope there will be no more problems.

I choose my actions and then the game just stops. I can see Christoph and Carolyn and Robert just bobbing there waiting for the fight but it never starts. I have restarted from my last save point but the same thing keeps happening. Help!


Today 06/17/2018, I encounter the same issue as Evilmumrah on 12/07/2014 although downloading the last version (EVERNA FireHeart Legacy VX), and copying my previous save files. The "Weighty Dwarf" equipped on Cristophe cannot be un-equipped since it forbids entering in Emola Grad. Help again!

- In order to prevent more fatal bugs incoming, we've removed the "weighty dwarf" routine altogether. Hope that nothing is amiss.
- New installer has been uploaded.
- If you don't want to reinstall the game again, please make sure that the "weighty dwarf" is equipped along the way until the event in Emole Grad automatically unequip it from Cristophe.

The art in the opening scene in the latest version is "borrowed" from Kadokawa in RPG Maker MV. The previous versions, titled "Legend of the Paladins" featuring my own sketchy art.

We'll fix that bug too, thank you. Forgot to insert additional conditional branch in the event.
In the meantime, you may ignore repeating the quest and move on with the story.

I have just completed "Woodcutter's Daughter"quest, I've taken her back to her father, when I speak to the father and the quest iis done I get screen for Chapter 2 "Shade of the Moon" I am then transferred to inn but I'm stuck by the female guest "changing her clothes" she won't budge so I can't progress.

i love quest adventure halls but this one needs work.papers you cant read and ones you can but cannot take!
any non damaged paper there should be doable
and the papers dont disappear when completed

a glitch talking to the bunny girl on the left can get multiple scrolls. after killing the pied piper i talked to her and she gave me another one

quests on the menu screen never seems to be available

you can sell key items like magic map and map lore (you cant obtain more)
^include roberts sword which has sentimental value

what purpose is there donating to the church? is this a joke that its pointless to do so because you wont be rewarded?


i noticed alot of places where you could go inside and see the front of the building that does not match what the outside looked like at all! windows,signs shape everything XD

the head master in the starting town said we could make a cobalt sword. yet that never happened!

areas with single lane mapping drive me crazy! you NEED to go somewhere and npcs are in the way!
the cow ranch can be really frustrating in particular
or the weapon shop in Alceste...the priest looking guy went in front of the door and just stood there :/
had to reload

in Alceste you should have it tell you what ingredients you need just saying you need ingredients doesn't help!

i do not recommend this. play at your own risk (and make sure to use multiple saves or you may regret it)


-the story is boring (it's the story that matters. we must cover all the basics for an epic trilogy. define "exciting", and we'll try to make one in our next projects).
-the characters are boring (many like them, though, with variative personalities).
-the battles are ok(most off the considerable amount of skills you have at some point become uneeded (just calculate the MP management, that's because of the limitation from the RMVX and the level progression).
-grammar considerable amount of mistakes (please specify - must we use past tense or present perfect tense in narration?)
-other game breaking glitches
-the guild/adventurer quest papers were organized poorly (haven't got a script that works on that).
-gameplay is over 6 hours long (did not finish so cant be specific)- (it's actually 20+ hours long).

we will fix the technical glitches in eventing etc. as soon as possible, when there is time.

please note that we have spent over a year in making the story and another year in making the game, not to mention bug fixes etc. all in all, thank you for your feedback.

Ah, really? We must double-check on the eventing. Did you defeat A'bong, the boss in this cave? Maybe it's a bug after all, because it's meant to be a shortcut so you don't have to go all the way to the front door again.
On what tile did you get out to outside the cave?

I have the same problem as this but is anyone still viewing these pages. I have tried every different download and transferred save files but the problem is still the same, so i cannot progress :(


Ah, I see there's a bug coming :p Which version did you guys play in? We've beta-tested it before release and it turned out okay. Just to check, in "conditions" maybe you shouldn't remove the "Weighty Dwarf" equipped on Cristophe yet. If it's already removed, try equipping it on Cristophe again if it's still in inventory.

Just to make sure, send me your last saved game file to andrychang-at-gmail-dot-com and I'll double check that problem. Maybe there's a bug we've encountered regarding the Frei Val'shka game character, so we suggest installing the EX (extended) version instead.
