As a hindsight note, the trash mobs were pretty good. While I'm not a fan of how long the transition is (wasting the player's time in any way is bad IMO,) said monsters would die really quickly if you use their elemental weakness. if the game continues to allow exploitation of weaknesses, the battle system will be pretty good.

That, or I find the haste spell !

I hope this helps improve the project a tad. :)
I like pretty much everything about this game, minus the color of the text boxes. It really hurts my eyes trying to read any conversation, especially the menu. Just looking at this video has my eyes in pain. I just wish there was a way to change that tan background to a darker color, without messing up anything in the editor.

I never had such an issue, but I know where you're coming from. I tried to create a quick edit and post it here, but my photoshop won't accept that type of jpeg.
Faster ATB plugin would help this game immensely I think. Along with no row and no autobattle patches.

But still P5 is one of the better Phantasias at the end of the day. The series has been a long line of gradual improvements over each entry and I think it's come a long way since then.

If I could find patches like that, I'd put those things in a heartbeat. >>;

EDIT: Installed a patch to get rid of the Auto Battle function, that's one thing down, now for that ATB speed up...
I have no gripes with the ATB-speed but maybe it's because I've equipped my entire party with thunder-crafts from the start to max out my agility, because the stat is completely broken. If the game was balanced with this in mind (say, tunder-craft giving only 2-3 agility bonus per level instead, same with the scrolls), I would imagine the battles to be a real drag. I'll get deeper into this when I get to reviewing the game.

Oh and yeah, the default menu is a complete eyesore - I changed it manually after 5 minutes of playtime

but I agree with Skie, even though I haven't played any other entries to any greater extent

Yeah, I installed DynRPG, I'm still trying to find the plugin for faster ATB, if you can help me with that, that'd be great! :D

Alright, time for a bigger update this time around, I even fixed up the font so people can be able to read the text, when I installed the new stuff, the text changed to a point where it was bearly readable, so I finally fixed that part up, so now it'll be a lot more readable, and the battle system will be a lot more fast paced this time around, thanks you guys, this really helped!

I just toned it down to very dark, it looks pretty bad. I'd recommed screwing around with a bunch of different colours (darker ones are usually easier on the eyes)

I don't have a list but of the top of my head there are a bunch of glitches you might want to fix.

virtually every map/chipset has pathing issues, I'd take a look at that. Also meeting elmyra the first time is very easy to fix (look at the map and you'll see what I mean) and consider balancing thunder craft vs everything else

also, antibody and clear mind do not block poison and confusion respectively? I'd look into that

oh and, when playing as algad, I earn money for dirk and the team, that seriously skewed what I thought was pretty well-balanced money-earning up to that point. I mean, showing off Algads skills is good and all but he pretty much wipes the floor with his beam so it gets pretty old fast. Maybe disable the encounters for him (or just remove all gold he earns).

Also, the cavern south of Neal has 1 encounter in it. I think there was supposed to be some enemies there

Yeah, I'm replaying the game as well with the new and improved engine as well, I caught on some of those mistakes you said earlier. I'll throw it with the next update. It's a big one this time, so you may have to re-download the game again, but luckily no save restart. :P

Also, I completely changed the regular window settings, I'm using P2's but, mneh. Better than bein' blind, eh?
Whew, I just beat the game

this game is looooooooo-

oh, and I've taken a bunch of notes so I'll try to whip up a review pretty soon (this weekend most likely, I have a bunch of school-stuff to take care of)

I found a few more bugs and glitches here and there, like a one-time crash at one of the last bosses (although it seems to have more to do with rm2k3 than anything, I couldn't replicate it) and hazel appearing twice towards the end but that's without looking at my notes
Important news:

I have to revert to the old system, without DynRPG, because it is interfering with some of the custom systems in the game, so I'm reverting it back to the old one with the new update.
God damn ATB sucks.
