Part One Release

Hey all! It's been quite a while, but after being nudged by various folks over the years, I've decided to put out a release of Everlasting Journey. It contains Part One, and the opening chapter of Part Two.

It's certainly had problems, but I would consider what's at least in there now to be "complete" - with the exception of some existing rips I was honestly too tired to replace in my latest pass/playthrough. I'll be adding some guides for it, but here are some immediate things that come to mind:

1. Controller suppport - currently, it's just XInput, so any Xbox controller will work out of the box. Other controllers (PS4, etc) will need to be mapped using some other utility.

2. Achievements / Game Jolt Integration - Make a Game Jolt account & jot down your "Game Token". Hit Shift+Tab in-game, or hit the Guide button on the Xbox controller, sign in with your account name & token, and it should just work from there.

3. Treasure / Pots & Barrels - Treasure chests found are tallied by the end, pots & barrels are not.

I hope y'all can get some enjoyment out of it! It's been tested pretty thoroughly, but let me know if there's any weird bugs.

Congrats Pepsi. Happy this finally got a release.
Carry on my dude.

Carry on, you will always remember!♫
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor!♫
LETS GOOOOOOOOO! I'll be streaming this tomorrow morning. So excited - thanks for releasing this!
I double posted... but I am double excited.
Awesome. I will enjoy this for sure, and I was so sorry to miss the first demo! Thanks for the great job. Two thumbs up!
I ran into a display bug
When I started the game, I chose gauge, but this was the interface in the first battle

I didn't notice the bars were missing initially

After
Athena joins the group, for some reason the option changes from gauge to traditional.
I noticed this change, only because I had lunch, so I saved and quit the game.
When I reloaded the game in the first battle I noticed the change.

After that I put the option back on gauge

At that moment I realized that the bars were missing at the beginning of the game
Weeeeiiird... I'll look into those.
Oh if anyone gets the RTP error "The RPG Maker 2003 Runtime Package is not present or not registered", just replace the executable with this one:
https://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/40/locker/ejourney.exe

I'll have it fixed in a patch release.
Awesome to see this revived! I remember enjoying the original release.

I've encounter an unavoidable hard crash to title, though... At the Gnome's festival in the forest, after doing all of the fetch quests and the gnomes start trying to cook the Floo or whatever that thing is called, the game crashes with the error message "Event script referenced a hero that does not exist." It's while the team is sitting on the log off to the side, right after Phillip says "I'd take one of them over the bow of my boat if ya know what I mean!"
1.0.1 Patch release is out. It fixes the following:
  • RTP error
  • Bar/Drinking system lag
  • Crash at the gnome feast
  • Cleaned up some dialog in a couple places

Sorry for the bugs >_> hopefully there aren't any more...

Oh heck yeah. You think it's okay to keep my save??
Yep. It shouldn't affect saves at all.
Hey, first of all, that's fantastic game and I hope you'll finish it someday. I am stuck though...
At Paul's castle, where I should signal our second party about opened doors. There is scene at the locked room, where Sparrow says about large window behind door. I don't know what to do now, where to find key to this door or how to proceed any other way.

Answer:
Yeah it's maybe a little convoluted/obscure. On the first floor & east side by the side exit, there's some rope in a storage room opposite the vertical hallway. Go back to the roof, and there's a spot you can jump from.

Thanks, found it, maybe a little "spark" at the spot in next update would be nice :)

GREAT game so far.
A segnalation and a question:

- I got a 'script error' when trying to open the chest during the avalanche part (the one with note "RUN you fool". A guy with a red cap briefly appears on a space backround) but then che game crashes! If ignoring the chest nothing happens and the game continues normally of course.

- Second info... is the purple haired water magician an Rtp like Sparrow? Uhm I was searching for the charsets/poses, but yeah this was more a curosity!
